The construction and rehabilitation of buildings and structures are intervention in the environment of people. Therefore, we are always looking for new technologies that are not only environmentally friendly but also acceptable from the point of view. Speed, flexibility, minimum limit for residents and transport, and also a high efficiency is the reason why more and more in recent years carried out the rehabilitation of sewerage using remediation sleeves. One of the systems of trenchless rehabilitation of sewerage systems used in Western Europe is a system company RELINEEUROPE Alphaliner Liner GmBH & co., the company's Technicians have developed one of the most important practices in the area of trenchless rehabilitation of sewerage systems. A large proportion of the development also has operators and owners of the pipeline. Technology offers very high quality of carried out restorations. This article describes the procedures for ensuring the quality of the used in Germany, which is a world leader in the development, production and use of this technology.

4-dimethylamino-N-methyl -4-stilbazolium tosylate(DAST) was synthesized by the condensation and ion exchange reaction of 4-methyl-N-methyl pyridinium tosylate, 4-N,N-dimethylamino -benzaldehyde and silver p-toluenesulfonate, the reaction procedure was easy with high efficiency. The purity of the product was further improved by successive abstersion and recrystallization. The powder was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectrum, nuclear magnetic resonance and elemental analysis. The results showed that the quality of the powder as crystal raw material was very high, the product could meet the requirements for crystal growth, the procedure of washing the product by chloroform was important to achieve the high quality.

Abstract Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has severely impacted the Italian healthcare system, underscoring a dramatic shortage of specialized doctors in many disciplines. The situation affected the activity of the residents in neurology, who were also offered the possibility of being formally hired before their training completion. Aims (1) To showcase examples of clinical and research activity of residents in neurology during the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy and (2) to illustrate the point of view of Italian residents in neurology about the possibility of being hired before the completion of their residency program. Results Real-life reports from several areas in Lombardia—one of the Italian regions more affected by COVID-19—show that residents in neurology gave an outstanding demonstration of generosity, collaboration, reliability, and adaptation to the changing environment, while continuing their clinical training and research activities. A very small minority of the residents participated in the dedicated selections for being hired before completion of their training program. The large majority of them prioritized their training over the option of earlier employment. Conclusions Italian residents in neurology generously contributed to the healthcare management of the COVID-19 pandemic in many ways, while remaining determined to pursue their training. Neurology is a rapidly evolving clinical field due to continuous diagnostic and therapeutic progress. Stakeholders need to listen to the strong message conveyed by our residents in neurology and endeavor to provide them with the most adequate training, to ensure high quality of care and excellence in research in the future.

The emerging tasks of determining the features of bottom sediments, including the evolution of the seabed, require a significant improvement in the quality of data and methods for their processing. Marine seismic data has traditionally been perceived to be of high quality compared to land data. However, high quality is always a relative characteristic and is determined by the problem being solved. In a detailed study of complex processes, the interaction of waves with bottom sediments, as well as the processes of seabed evolution over short time intervals (not millions of years), we need very high accuracy of observations. If we also need significant volumes of research covering large areas, then a significant revision of questions about the quality of observations and methods of processing is required to improve the quality of data. The article provides an example of data obtained during high-precision marine surveys and containing a wide frequency range from hundreds of hertz to kilohertz. It is shown that these data, visually having a very high quality, have variations in wavelets at all analyzed frequencies. The corresponding variations reach tens of percent. The use of the method of factor decomposition in the spectral domain made it possible to significantly improve the quality of the data, reducing the variability of wavelets by several times.

The quality of products represents one of the key aims of any modern organized production. In the production practice, it is essential to establish the optimal relationship between quality, production economy and delivery deadlines. Furniture quality is evaluated by three levels and they are: basic quality, high quality and especially high quality. The results presented in this paper are based on the sample measurements of chairs and tables during 2007 and 2008 at the Institute for Furniture Quality Control.

An experimental field for the cultivated production of Gentiana lutea L. was established five years ago at the Suvobor Mountain, Serbia. Soil analysis of this area revealed the occurrence of high pseudo-total (Ni - 1270 mg/kg, Cr - 423 mg/kg, Co - 385 mg/kg) and available (especially Ni - 133 mg/kg) heavy metals contents in the soil. Hence, the aim of this research was to evaluate the quality of Gentiana lutea L. - roots and galenic forms (liquid extract in 70 % ethanol, spissum and siccum) produced from the roots, because, for most plants, heavy metals accumulate in the root tissue. The amounts of Ni and Cr found in the analyzed roots were very high (54 mg/kg and 14 mg/kg, respectively). The efficiency of ethanol in extracting heavy metals from the roots varied depending on the particular element. The highest efficiency was obtained for Ni (41.3 %), then for Cd (39.5 %), Pb (37.0%) and Co (30.4 %). According to this, a potential hazard exists for humans, if gentian's galenic forms are produced from the raw material with high heavy metals contents. It is concluded that quality control of the raw material must be carried out before further utilization of gentian. .

Abstract.We conducted some researches in order to explore “fields” or dimensions of elderly people’s Quality of Life (QoL), both as self-perception and hetero-perception. A set of researches were conducted in Italy and Spain, involving seniors and university students. The aim was to explore the seniors’ QoL from both their and the students’ point of view. Results showed elderly people perceived their own life better than the “other” attributed to them; they were quite good at managing Positive and Negative Emotions. Spanish university students represented more positively the elderly people’s QoL than Italian colleagues. A Positive Affect as well as an empathic attitude towards seniors affected a better representation about elderly people’s QoL. Another set of studies was focused on the elderly people’s QoL and New Technologies (NTs) as these may offer opportunities both to maintain an independent lifestyle and to being involved in relevant activities. Most participants had nor any digital skills neither prejudices on the NTs; the perceived QoL was quite positive; Self-Efficacy believes were really high. The QoL was affected only by Self-Efficacy. A workshop was held, involving a small group of both disabled and healthy seniors; it was focused on the NTs, as tools to promote an active citizenship. After Training our seniors improved their Digital Skills and their own Quality of Life. In the end, a study was conducted in order to verify how both empathy (Empatic Concern; Perspective Taking), Theory on Mind (RMET) and contact worked well to improve QoL levels attributed to elders by a group of university students. On an applicative plan, empathy and TOM should represent the backdrop in supervised experiences of contact between students and elders. Further research will be conduct on this path.Key-Words: Active ageing; Quality of Life; Social Representations; Contact; Empathy.

Derek Parfit has famously pointed out that ‘total’ utilitarian views, such as classical hedonistic utilitarianism, lead to the conclusion that, to each population of quite happy persons there corresponds a more extensive population with people living lives just worth living, which is (on the whole) better. In particular, for any possible population of at least ten billion people, all with a very high quality of life, there must be some much larger imaginable population whose existence, if other things are equal, would be better, even though its members have lives that are barely worth living. This world is better if the sum total of well-being is great enough, and it is great enough if only enough sentient beings inhabit it. This conclusion has been considered by Parfit and others to be ‘repugnant’.

AbstractThe very large development of home and domestic electronic appliances as well as portable device has led the microelectronics industry to evolve in two complimentary directions : “More Moore” with the continuous race towards extremely small dimensions hence the development of SoCs (System on Chip) and more recently a new direction that we could name “More than Moore” with the integration of devices that were laying outside the chips and here the creation of SiPs (System in Package).These two approaches are not in competition one with the other: the paper will show some examples of integrated nano systems that use several SoCs.The technology we have developed is called Silicon Based System in Package. The first products using this technology are now in volume production and used mainly in the field of wireless communications.This new technology relies on four pillars. Passive integration is the first. Very efficient and high quality factor capacitors and inductors have been integrated, allowing the creation of complete modules including active devices, filters and decoupling capacitors. High-density MOS capacitors with 1-1000 nF capacitance, and as high values as 25-250+ nF/mm2 specific capacitance have been fabricated in macroporous Si-wafers, containing over 1 billion macropores. Typically an ESR less than 100 mÙ and an ESL less than 25 pH were found for capacitors over 10 nF. This novel concept is an important step forward in improving the stability of power-amplifier modules by replacing conventional SMD technology.Whereas generations with capacitors density of up to 100 nF/mm2 will be using “conventional” materials and structures, the next steps in the roadmap will call for new 3D structures and materials such as high-k dielectrics.The second element is advanced packaging. New technologies, such as the assembly of Silicon chips onto other Silicon chips, also named “double flip chip” have been developed. This has been made possible thanks to the combination of the most advanced microbumping and die placement techniques. In addition to a tremendous reduction of size (up to a factor of 10 to 20) these techniques have also brought a better repeatability of system performance.The third element has been the development of design tools that allow a seamless system design for engineers used to IC design tools and flows. Our Design Environment allows co design of multiple technologies chips and their integration in a single system. This IC-like Design Environment has contributed a lot to the adoption of the technology.Testing is the fourth element and is one of the economical enablers of the technology. The key words are: “known good die”, RF test, system test? Some innovative RF probing and full on wafer subsystem test will be shown. Even though efficient test is not vital for the technical feasibility of this system integration, it becomes very quickly one of the most important enablers, especially when we deal with very high volumes of production. The conclusion of the paper will be an open door to the future. Some innovations like the integration of light or even energy storage inside our SiPs will be presented.

This paragraph introduces a paper which illustrates a larger project: a study of aspects of Gower's works in fourteenth-century historical relationships. The objective is an interpretation of his writings as mirroring the attitude and point of view of a conservative middle-class Englishman for the years 1381-1400 and through them an interpretation of the England of his day. Though these writings show the long heritage of an economic, political, ethical, and religious past, our interest always centers in his immediate present. Non-literary contemporary records consequently provide the first essential materials for this interpretation. Macaulay's standard edition of his works, published half a century ago, based on all manuscripts then available, constitutes the printed source for this study. The high quality of Gower's preserved manuscripts, which give his own revisions, and the fact that these revisions show important changes in his attitudes toward individuals and organizations or institutions, make a re-examination of all of them now available an essential part of this interpretation and raise again the unresolved problem of his ethical integrity. Gardiner Stillwell's able article, “John Gower and the Last Years of Edward III,” provides a suggestive introduction for the interested student. The title of the present article is John Gower, Mentor for Royalty: Richard II.

In this chapter, we examine the differences between software maintenance and software development from a service point of view, and the consequences thereof for the maturity of software maintenance organizations. We argue that software maintenance can be seen as providing a service, whereas software development is primarily concerned with the development of products. Differences between products and services affect the way in which customers assess their respective quality. In particular, service quality is assessed in two dimensions: the technical quality — what the result of the service is — and the functional quality — how the service is delivered. Consequently, customers will judge the quality of software maintenance differently from that of software development. This in turn means that to deliver high quality results in software maintenance, both the functional quality and the technical quality dimension are important.
