Based on different land use types and diverse watersheds of Dehua district of Fujian Province, soil erosion is assessed by using Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). According to the results, erosion of Dehua is generally mild, among which total erosion is 952.71×103 t/a and erosion area is 2210.67 km2. It is significant that the vast forest and grassland contribute to avoiding erosion effectively. In addition, the overlap area of Min and Jin River and Chanxi of Min River, the most frequent place of human activities, are the two highest soil erosion watersheds. The result shows that human activities have great influence on soil erosion. This article intends to provide evidence for planning and control measures of soil erosion.

Soil loss caused by erosion is a global problem. Therefore, the assessment of soil erosion and the its driving mechanism are of great significance to soil conservation. However, soil erosion is affected by both climate change and human activities, which have not been quantified, and few researchers studied the differences in the driving mechanisms of soil erosion depending on the land use type. Therefore, the spatiotemporal characteristics and changing trends of soil erosion in the Dongting Lake Basin were analyzed in this study. Geographic detectors were used to identify the dominant factors affecting soil erosion in different land use types. In this study, a sensitivity experiment was conducted to clarify the relative contributions of climate change and human activities to soil erosion changes. In addition, we studied the effects of different land use types and vegetation cover restoration on soil erosion. The results show that soil erosion in the Dongting Lake Basin decreased from 2000 to 2018. Human activities represented by land use types and vegetation coverage significantly contributed to the alleviation of soil erosion in the Dongting Lake Basin, whereas climate change represented by rainfall slightly aggravated soil erosion in the study area. The restoration of grassland vegetation and transfer of cultivated land to woodlands in the study area improved the soil erosion. The slope steepness is the key factor affecting the intensity of soil erosion in dry land, paddy fields, and unused land, whereas the vegetation coverage is the key factor affecting the intensity of soil erosion in woodland, garden land, and grassland. Detailed spatiotemporally mapping of soil erosion was used to determine the connections between soil erosion and potential drivers, which have important implications for vegetation restoration and the optimization of land use planning.

In order to learn the relevant characteristics of soil erosion of highway slope in the permafrost region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the different characteristics of the erosion area were analyzed in this paper firstly. Then based on ArcGIS and RUSLE modes and gray correlation analysis, the spatial and temporal differentiation characteristics of soil erosion in the area were proposed. The results showed that soil erosion was mainly concentrated in June to September, and the date of the project construction should be avoided as much as possible; The erosion intensity was slightly and mildly and gradually weakened from south to north. Theoretical research results will have important theoretical and technical significance for the prevention and control of soil erosion of highway slope in the permafrost area of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Soil erosion is one of major environment problems in the world, and China is one of the most serious soil erosion country. In this paper, Fujian province was used as a study area for its typical red soil region. Based on USLE model, the soil erosion modulus in 1990 and 2015 were calculated and turned to soil erosion intensity. The soil erosion distribution trend in Fujian province was decrease from south-east coastal zone to north-west inland region. In soil erosion areas, the main erosion type was light level with about 80 %, and the soil erosion levels above serious type were mainly sporadic distribution with less than 10 %. The soil erosion improved for the past 25 years. The areas of different erosion types all decreased, and the total erosion area reduced by 26.59 %. The improvement area mainly located in north-east, south and west region. The aggravation area mainly located in the north and some middle hilly regions. The impact of human activities is more significant for erosion control.

Abstract Objectives The purpose of this study is to describe the situation of COVID-19 in European countries and to identify important factors related to prevention and control. Methods We obtained data from World Health Statistics 2020 and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). We calculated the Rt values of 51 countries in Europe under different prevention and control measures. We used lasso regression to screen factors associated with morbidity and mortality. For the selected variables, we used quantile regression to analyse the relevant influencing factors in countries with different levels of morbidity or mortality. Results The government has a great influence on the change in Rt value through prevention and control measures. The most important factors for personal and group prevention and control are the mobility index, testing, the closure of educational facilities, restrictions on large-scale gatherings, and commercial restrictions. The number of ICU beds and doctors in medical resources are also key factors. Basic sanitation facilities, such as the proportion of safe drinking water, also have an impact on the COVID-19 epidemic. Conclusions We described the current status of COVID-19 in European countries. Our findings demonstrated key factors in individual and group prevention measures.

Water content has a great influence on the rock mechanics properties. Four kinds of rock samples have been tested in the MTS Electro hydraulic Tri-axial Servo Test System. The result shows that with the increase of water content, the rock uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus value are declining. We get the fitting equation between water content and rock mechanical properties with four kind of rocks, provide a new basis for slope stability analysis and landslide prevention and control measures.

The punctuality of local public bus transportation contributes to the service quality and has impact on mode choice. Appropriate planning and control measures as well as adequate passenger information require efficient analysis and prediction methods. Advanced fleet tracking systems provide enough data for these research purposes. The main factors that cause schedule deviation has been identified through the analysis of the data. As important time elements of the journey time are dwell times at stops, the research focused on it; however, the elaborated database structure is adequate also for analysis of the other time elements, which coincides with our further research intentions too. Innovative methods based on the historical data have been elaborated for the prediction of dwell times. The essence of the method: multi-variate analysis of the dwell times by exploration of the significant influencing factors, and then prediction of times based on the factors describing the certain situations. Soundness of the methods has been verified with examples, and the results well approximated the real values.
