The challenge of using scarce and limited resources to satisfy almost limitless needs will, from a management perspective, be like the proverbial cat: it will never go away. The optimal use of human resources, in particular, remains a daunting task. In an economic environment characterized by increasing global competitiveness, failure to realize this important objective could be organizationally terminal, as inefficient organizations are unlikely to survive over the long term. A variety of different measures could be used to evaluate organizational effectiveness. In this study, the individual job performance level of employees is regarded as an indicator of organizational effectiveness. It is hypothesized that the individual job performance of employees can be improved by enhancing employee commitment (commitment to the organization, job, supervisor, profession). In other words, the general notion is that, if employees perceive a high level of congruence between their individual objectives and those of the organization, job, supervisor, and profession, they are likely to be better performers. The empirical results showed that commitment to the profession has the strongest positive influence (p 0.01) on job performance. The impact of organizational commitment was also positive, but only at the 5% level. Neither job involvement (commitment to the job) nor commitment to the supervisor had any influence on job performance. All the antecedents modelled exerted some influence on the different types of commitment. Internal locus of control exerts a negative influence on all of them, and career factors exert a positive influence on all of them. Both self-esteem and anticipatory socialization enhance organizational commitment and commitment to the profession, while external locus of control's influence is limited to enhancing job involvement.

This study examined the effect of job involvement on job performance and organizational commitment as mediation. This study involved 135 respondents and using saturated sample which take all employee become a respondents. Likert Scale is used as a balanced assessment questionnaires and using validity and reliability for testing questionaires. The analysis tool in the research is Structural Equation Model (SEM) which using a variance-based approach with Partial Least Square (PLS) as well as to test the mediating variable VAF to testing. Result of study found that job involvement has a positive effect on organizational commitment and job performance at Defense of Ministry. Organizational commitment has positive influence on job performance at Pusat Keuangan and organizational commitment as Partial mediation proved directly affect the relationship between job involvement and job performance. can be given to the Defense of Ministry is increasing attention to the dimensions of salary, normative commitment, and discipline work as dimensions that have bad perception

The purposes of this study are: (1) examine the impact of organizationalcommitment to job performance of faculty member in Surakarta; (2) examine the impact of Islamic work ethic to job performance; and (3) examine the moderation role of institutional-base on the impact of Islamic work ethic to job performance. The results show that organizational commitment and Islamic work ethic had significance effect to job performance, but institutional-based had no moderating role in the effect of Islamic work ethic to job performance

This study aims to find the effect of job involvement and organizational justice on three types of organizationalcommitment, which are affective, continuance and normative. This research was conducted in Pacto-Bali, using 70 employees as its respondents. Sampling technique used in this study was saturated sampling technique.Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique was multiple linear regression, which was processed using SPSS software.The findings indicate that job involvement has positive influence on each types of organizational commitment, that was affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. The same finding was found in the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment, where the more justice the employees received the more committed the employees to the organization. To improve the organizational commitment of employees, Pacto-Bali should increase employee motivation by inviting employees to involve in the decision making process, and also should improve the networking between the owners and employees in order to help organization to reach its goals

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose a conceptual model and to investigate the relationships among internal marketing, organizational commitment and job performance in sport and fitness services. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected using a questionnaire survey from 254 employees at each of 12 municipal sport centers in Taipei City and were analyzed primarily using structural equation modeling techniques. Findings The results indicated that internal marketing has positive effects on organizational commitment and job performance. Moreover, organizational commitment has a positive influence on job performance and plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between internal marketing and job performance. The findings identify the relationships among internal marketing, organizational commitment and job performance. Originality/value This study proposed and tested an empirical model linking internal marketing, organizational commitment and job performance in sport and fitness services. Moreover, this study further probed into the path of influence of internal marketing strategies on job performance of employees by including their organizational commitment in the mediating process. The findings of this study have insightful implications and emphasize the important role of internal marketing in the management of customer service in sports.

In this paper a look is taken at organizational effectiveness in terms of a Person-Environment (P-E) match and it is argued that the various approaches to the improvement of on-the-job performance focus either on changes at the individual level (‘fitting the man to the job’) or at the organizational level (‘fitting the job to the man’). Furthermore it is also argued that these interventions occur at either a global preventative level or at a localized remedial level. The resulting 2 × 2 classification of four basic strategies for enhancing P-E match are discussed and evaluated. It is concluded that in a mixed-economy situation, such as occurs in South Africa at present, attention should be given to adapting organizational structures and job processes to make them more compatible with the needs and values of the local work force.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to describe the relationship between organizational commitment and organizational culture with self-evaluation as a mediator variable. The theoretical framework evaluates the culture–commitment relationship based on the characteristics of the individual and underpins explanations of commitment patterns assigned to certain dimensions of organizational culture. Design/methodology/approach The study uses a purely theoretical approach, an instrument of which is abstract model creation. Findings The individual factors that reinforce deliberate, affective and professional commitment are the hierarchy culture; self-esteem; and self-efficacy, respectively. Research limitations/implications The existence of the relationship between the four factors of self-evaluation and the dimensions of the competing values framework (CVF) can be justified by secondary data analysis, although the direction of the causality is still questionable. Practical application of the theoretical model should be supported by empirical analyses in the future. Originality/value Research activity in organizational psychology is still mapping the elusive relationship between organizational culture and organizational commitment. In terms of organizational culture, the model is based upon the CVF and uses the five-dimension model of employee commitment instead of the mainstream concept of organizational commitment. This theoretical framework is suitable for evaluating the relationship between organizational culture and commitment when considering the individual features of the employee and supports the explanation of commitment patterns assigned to cultural dimensions.

This study investigated the effect of employee’s commitment on organizational performance in selected brewing firms.  Two objectives which are ;To examine the impact of  employee commitment on organizational profitability  in brewing industry in Nigeria To examine  the dimensions of employee commitment on performance in brewing industry in Nigeria guided the study. Also two research questions and hypotheses were drawn along that line. A survey design was adopted with a sample population size of 216 drawn using Taro Yamani. Data were presented and analyzed using tables and simple percentages. Also, hypotheses were tested using parametric statistics. Findings revealed that Organizational profitability had a positive influence on employees performance in the area studied (Zc=4.226 > Zt =1.645) and Inadequate employees development programmes had a positive influence on employees commitment in the area studied (Zc=4.531 > Zt =1.645). It was recommended that Organizations should regularly embark on performance appraisals because; it will go a long way to know whether the human capital development is producing the needed result and that there should be a systematic view towards employees’ commitment development in organizations. That is to say all levels, sections should be given equal opportunity to develop.  As generally stated, if you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail
