Institution managers have always been seeking competent accountants and accounting technicians to fill the gaps created by the requirements of changing business environment and criticize the existing skills of newly graduated and less experienced accounting job aspirants from Rwandan  Institutions of Higher Learning. This paper analyses the satisfaction levels of various stakeholders in Rwanda towards the skills held by accounting-employees and employers’ expectations, as this could remedy to the competence gap between the job market demand and human resource availability in accounting field. The target population includes the managers of selected institutions in Rwanda, the accountants employed by these institutions and the heads of departments in higher learning institutions delivering accounting programs. The sample was chosen randomly from each stratum of population from the selected districts. The study discovers that the competences acquired are not appropriate to fulfil the necessary skills required in accounting job. Collaboration between accounting firms and academic institutions is needed to synergize accounting practical training with theoretical learning in the classroom. Accountants will also have to equip with other extra knowledge and soft skills (information technology, critical thinking and effective communication) to match the market needs. This study attempts to explain the importance of curriculum change in Higher Learning Institutions. It’s objectives were to identify the similarities and differences between two institutions of Higher Learning in terms of curriculum structure, teaching process and teachers’ digital skills and also examine whether the curriculum change in their respective training programmes produce better quality teachers in Malaysian schools. A qualitative research incorporating questionnaire, document analysis and interviews was conducted to obtain the results.. The data obtained from the study participants were analyzed qualitatively. The findings of the study reveal that (i) both the Higher Learning Institutions have similarities in prioratizing subject matter, professional standards and practical training (ii) Both of them share the same view that curriculum change has produced better quality teachers. The study concludes by predicting there will be more innovative changes in curriculum designing in the Higher Learning Institutions in future. However, it has recommended more classroom activities for students.

In most learning Institutions in Nigeria, the quality of teaching delivered by Lecturers/Teachers are not usually given the attention it requires and where such is done, it is often done in a crude way using semi-automated approaches. This research is conceived to examine how Information and Communications Technology could be employed to collect data for the assessment of quality of teaching delivered by Teachers/Lecturers in the Institutions of higher learning in Nigeria. To achieve this, this research studies a University of Technology in the South-East of Nigeria, conceives and designs an object-oriented model for harnessing the relevant data needed to conduct such assessment into a central database. This system can be used to submit feedbacks on the performances of the Lecturers and also enable educational administrators view statistics of submissions. As the data is collated in a central database, analytical tools could be employed in conducting further analysis on Lecturer performance evaluation to drive advanced decision making.

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between external factors on the achievement of assessment tests and gender of students in Arabic writing skills in Malaysian Institutions of Higher Learning. A total of 140 respondents from four Malaysian higher learning institutions (MHLI) were selected, namely Sultan Zainal Abidin University (90 respondents), International Islamic University College of Selangor (25 respondents), Sultan Ahmad Shah Islamic University College, Pahang (9 respondents), and Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic College (16 respondents) as the study sample. The data obtained were analysed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 22.0 software. Inferential analysis method, namely Pearson correlation was used to find the relationship between two different study variables, namely dependent variables and independent variables. The findings showed that there was no significant relationship between external factors on Arabic writing skills based on assessment tests. However, this relationship was found to be significant based on gender of students. This was because the correlation between external factors with student achievement test scores was (r = - 0.062, n = 140, p = 0.463), while the correlation between external factors on gender of students was (r = 0.181, n = 140, p = 0.032). This finding indicates that the relationship between external factors with the assessment test was irrelevant in affecting Arabic writing skills, and was not significant. However, the researchers found that external factors can significantly affect the Arabic writing skills among MHLI students based on gender through the analysis of the study obtained.

Organizational effectiveness continues to be a popular topic in management settings, seminars, and research projects. Similar levels of interest prevail in the area of sport management, although most of the attention is expressed in the elite sport areas. This paper provides an overview of the organizational effectiveness literature with specific application to the area of recreationalintramural sport programs in institutions of higher learning.The Target Population Satisfaction Index (TPSI) instrument is introduced as an instrument to measure organizational effectiveness in these programs. The author outlines the steps taken to develop and test the instrument as well as a suggested protocol for administering the instrument. The TPSI instrument was subjected to a number of psychometric assessments and is presented as a valid and reliable measurement tool.

With the realisation that institutions of higher learning may play a powerful role in transforming the world, research partnerships between institutions in the Global South and North have gained popularity. These partnerships are meant to empower and strengthen the contribution of higher learning institutions and bridge the North/South knowledge divide. Considering the limited access to research resources in the Global South, it is anticipated that these partnerships will create research opportunities for scholars. However, while it can be acknowledged that the research partnerships can be of benefit to African institutions and economy, there are practical challenges that limit the success of most research partnerships. Using the authors’s experience this article explores and describes issues that surround research collaborations between institutions of higher learning in the Global South and North.

The number of youths embarking on entrepreneurship in Malaysia is still low despite various efforts have been exerted by the government. Specifically, technopreneurship which is an important new breed of entrepreneurship in the post COVID-19 era is facing various challenges, especially in the development of competitive technopreneurs. To date, there is a lack in the literature pertaining to intentional-based studies, specifically on technopreneurship. As such, this study was motivated to identify the individual factors that influence university students’ intention towards technopreneurship. It developed a research model based on the concepts of self-efficacy and individual entrepreneurial orientation. A total of 196 university students from a public university were surveyed through self-administered questionnaires. The results indicated that self-efficacy, namely computer capability and Internet ability, as well as individual entrepreneurial orientation positively and significantly affected intention towards technopreneurship. Several suggestions were given to strategize technopreneurship development in the country. For instance, higher learning institutions should offer non-traditional technopreneurship curriculum and upgrade technological infrastructure. One of the major issues confronting the ministry of higher education in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the procedures for taking managerial decision making on their institutions of higher learning. Thus, there has not been empirical study on the integration of institutions of higher learning’s repository to the ministry of higher education as the stakeholder. Since data warehouse is described as a system that capable of storing and exploring large amount of information from various data sources, this paper design a prototyping data warehouse for the ministry of higher institution of learning so as to facilitate searching and decision making on concerned institution. The XAMPP web server was used to design the data warehouse due to its embedded PHP and MySQL functions. Hence, the result presents a prototype that integrates the repositories of some higher learning institutions with the ministry of higher institution of learning in Saudi Arabia Kingdom.

Corruption in this paper refers to absurd or deviant disposition of people in institutions of higher learning whichviolates the ethical standards. The prevalence of corruption in tertiary institutions is viewed to negate the core values ofeducation at this level. Major themes discussed included definition of corruption, corruption in Nigerian society andhigher learning institutions, highlighting the various aspects and shapes of corruption in Nigerian higher institutions.Dimensions of corruption identified included students, lecturers, non-academic staff and administrators. The shapes ofcorruption among students included bribing of lecturers for unmerited grades, cultism, examination malpractice,attacks on lecturers for stopping students from indulging in examination malpractice, fiscal extortion from innocentstudents by fellow students who form themselves into “lecturers’ boys”. Forms of corruption among lecturers includeddemanding huge amount of money, sex from female students for high grade, etc. Among non-teaching staff, the shadesof corruption included monetary extortion from students before they see their results, demanding of money fromunsuspecting parents in the guise that they are lecturers with a promise to secure admission for their children/wards,they also act as agents for lecturers, receiving money from students for higher grades after examination. At theadministrator's level, shades of corruption included misappropriation and misapplication of fund meant for capitalprojects, offer of admission to undeserving students for a fee while deserving candidates are by-passed, amongst others.Impact of corruption on higher education administration was discussed and means that can be adopted or adapted tocurb the menace were suggested.

The purpose of the present study is to identify the determinants of upper secondary level students’ intentions whether to choose a private or a public higher learning institution. Ajzen and Fishbein’s (1980) Theory of Reasoned Action was used as the basis for this study. The theory posits that the immediate determinant of behavior is intention. Intention is determined by the weighted attitude toward the behavior and the weighted subjective norm. Combinations of beliefs, evaluations, and motivation to comply determine attitude and subjective norm towards behavior. Salient beliefs related to attitude towards both private and public institutions of higher learning and salient beliefs related to the subjective norm for both private and public higher learning institutions were identified. The sample consisted of 132 students whose age ranges from 16 years to 24 years. Hypotheses generated in accordance to the theory were confirmed. The findings also showed that attitude toward behavior and subjective norm explained 75% of the variance in behavioral intention for both private and public institutions of higher learning. Attitude toward behavior had a greater relative weight (β =0.539) compared to the subjective norm (β =0.401) for both private and public higher learning institutions. Implications of the above findings are discussed.
