SummaryObjectives: The main aims of the paper comprise the characterization and examination of the potential approaches regarding interoperability. This includes openEHR, SNOMED, IHE, and Continua as combined interoperability approaches, possibilities for their incorporation into the eHealth environment, and identification of the main success factors in the field, which are necessary for achieving required interoperability, and consequently, for the successful implementation of eHealth projects in general.Methods: The paper represents an in-depth analysis regarding the potential application of openEHR, SNOMED, IHE and Continua approaches in the development and implementation process of eHealth in Slovenia. The research method used is both exploratory and deductive in nature. The methodological framework is grounded on information retrieval with a special focus on research and charting of existing experience in the field, and sources, both electronic and written, which include interoperability concepts and related implementation issues.Results: The paper will try to answer the following inquiries that are complementing each other:1. Scrutiny of the potential approaches, which could alleviate the pertinent interoperability issues in the Slovenian eHealth context.2. Analyzing the possibilities (requirements) for their inclusion in the construction process for individual eHealth solutions.3. Identification and charting the main success factors in the interoperability field that critically influence development and implementation of eHealth projects in an efficient manner.Conclusions: Provided insights and identified success factors could serve as a constituent of the strategic starting points for continuous integration of interoperability principles into the healthcare domain. This qualitative study examines the digitisation of HRM in a cloud-based environment. The influencing factors for the transformation from conventional HRM to eHRM are examined with a special focus on the success factors from a strategic to the operational level. Additionally, an in-depth analysis of the currently existing and new HR metrics which emerge during the transformation takes place. The study is based on interviews with HR experts with extensive experience in transforming and working with the new technology. Active participation of the HR department is relevant for the success of the digital transformation HRM project. HR metrics have not been applied extensively so far and are used less for controlling and optimizing HR processes. New metrics would increase the acceptance of the new technology and thus the success of the overall HR transformation. The main contribution is related to the field of HR software adoption of cloud-based solutions.

The aim of this article is to analyze the challenges and success factors on organizations’ path to agile transformation, as frequently discussed in the literature and encountered in business practice. The research conducted proved that large-scale agile transformations require a dedicated approach with set of tools and best practices in place. The implementation challenges and barriers have been categorized into method-, organization-, culture- and technology-oriented groups. As a result of an in-depth analysis carried on for the purpose of this paper, a dedicated methodology of agile transformation has been proposed to ease the implementation process.

The focus of this chapter is on various concepts that need to be carefully considered when defining an information systems strategic plan (ISSP) for enhancing public service delivery in the digital era. The first concept discussed is the critical success factors framework. This framework ensures that the ISSP strategic objectives are aligned with the corporate strategic objectives. The aim is to identify those critical success factors that ensure the successful implementation of the ISSP and to determine whether these factors are being achieved in the implementation process. Secondly, the chapter will consider the general implementation philosophy, including the IS application acquisition methods and the key IS features. This ensures the implementation of value for money IS applications. The third concept considered is related to the justification methods for undertaking IS applications. Finally, the chapter will discuss a number of ICT planning issues that may be applicable to the public sector.

54 Background: A successful effort was led in Ontario to increase ST CPOE adoption from 73% to 92% to support safety of patients receiving complex systemic treatment. This work included implementation at 19 hospitals from 2011-2013. The implementation process included identification of multidisciplinary team champions, baseline workflow analysis and development of a future desired state. Findings from this project’s benefits evaluation are presented. Methods: Each hospital was required to collect pre and post implementation measurements for medication errors, transcription errors and order clarity/completeness. Six months post implementation, a semi-structured telephone interview was conducted with representative hospitals (9/19) to obtain qualitative feedback on how implementation impacted workflow, inter-professional practice and workload. Results: Hospitals that implemented showed: 1) decrease in overall medication error rates. 2) decrease in transcription error rates and 3) decrease in number of unclear or incomplete orders. Qualitative feedback from hospital leads indicated that the “future desired” workflow was achieved by all. Most hospital respondents indicated that clarity of inter-professional communication regarding orders improved and in most cases overall workload did not increase. Conclusions: The findings reinforce the benefit associated with implementation of ST CPOE in outpatient settings. Lessons learned in Ontario can be leveraged to support successful implementation of ST CPOE in other jurisdictions. Critical implementation success factors included: 1) leadership and multi-disciplinary involvement; 2) provision of funding and cost sharing; 3) facilitation of process improvement through established methodologies, 4) knowledge transfer and peer group led education and training sessions. Electronic Health Records (EHR) has been the subject of much academic discussion in recent times. The impact that a successful implementation of EHR can have on a hospital cannot be overstated. Factors which are crucial to successful implementation of an EHR system are commonly known as Critical Success Factors (hereinafter referred to as CSFs). Purpose: The present study investigates the role of CSFs in implementation process of EHR systems in north Indian multispecialty hospitals. Design: The questionnaire has been distributed to 12 hospitals which have been using EHR technology. Findings: It has been concluded that three out of the five CSFs included in the study, play a more important role than the other two factors. Research limitations: The factors have not been considered separately based upon pre-implementation scenario and post-implementation phase. Originality: The study attempts to outline the impact of EHR systems on successful operational performance of hospitals.

This study aims to identify the dominant factors of the successful implementation of benchmarking on the performance of contracting companies and test the significance of the application of benchmarking on the performance of contracting companies. The research sample was saturated samples of 65 qualified contractor companies. The method and type of research used were correlational methods of multiple regression analysis using SPPS. The results of the study concluded that 1.Benchmarking significantly influences the performance of contracting companies in the Blitar City DPUPR; 1. The ranking of success factors for the Blitar City contractor companies in the process of implementing benchmarking (1) planning, (2) data collection, (3) acception and action and (4) analysis; 2.Benchmarking has proven to significantly improve company performance as measured by increasing (1) Corporate Finance (2) Company productivity, (3) DPUPR Consumer Satisfaction, (4) Community Satisfaction, (5) Quality of the company's construction technical personnel, (6) Satisfaction employee work, (7) Project acquisition rate in one year, (8) Effective completion of construction work, (9) Construction product quality.

BACKGROUND Very few evidence-based eHealth interventions for caregivers of people with dementia are implemented into practice. Municipalities are one promising context to implement these interventions, due to their available policy and innovation incentives regarding (dementia) caregiving and prevention. In this study, two evidence-based eHealth interventions for caregivers of people with dementia (Partner in Balance and Myinlife) were implemented in eight municipalities in the Euregion Meuse-Rhine. OBJECTIVE This study’s objectives were to (1.) evaluate this implementation and (2.) investigate determinants of successful implementation. METHODS This study collected eHealth usage data, Partner in Balance coach evaluation questionnaires, and information on implementation determinants. This was done by conducting interviews with the municipality officials, based on the Measurement Instrument for Determinants of Implementation (MIDI). This data from multiple sources and perspectives was integrated and analysed to form a total picture of the municipality implementation process. RESULTS The municipality implementation of Partner in Balance and Myinlife showed varying levels of success. In the end, three municipalities planned to continue the implementation of Partner in Balance, while none planned to continue the implementation of Myinlife. The two Partner in Balance municipalities that did not consider the implementation to be successful, viewed the implementation as an external project. For Myinlife, it was clear that more face-to-face contact was needed to engage the implementing municipality and the target groups. Successful implementations were linked to implementer self-efficacy CONCLUSIONS The experiences of implementing these interventions suggested that this implementation context was feasible regarding the required budget and infrastructure. The need to foster sense of ownership and self-efficacy in implementers will be integrated into future implementation protocols, as part of standard implementation materials for municipalities and organisations implementing Myinlife and Partner in Balance.

It establishes why the focus of the book zooms in from retailing in general to the retailing of food and drink in particular; thus from shops to bars. Another aim is to demonstrate the scope of the study, which is an in-depth analysis of specific shops and bars at Pompeii on the one hand, and on the other a broader survey of the retail landscapes of cities throughout the Roman world. Essentially this chapter provides the theoretical and methodological framework for the book, while also arguing for the value of it in the first place.

Introduction With the emergence of the first COVID-19 case in Saudi Arabia, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare has immediately executed the appropriate protocols in response to this severe global crisis. The pharmacy department at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare continues to play an essential role in providing the safest, efficient, and effective service to its eligible patients. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pharmacy department acted by implementing a drive-through pharmacy and home delivery services as new person-centered services to ensure patient safety. These two new services were initiated to protect both the pharmacist and the patient from COVID-19 infections as they ensure social distancing and reduce patients’ visits to the walk-in pharmacies, hence providing valuable and convenient services during this pandemic. Objective This article aims to describe the implementation processes and effectiveness of drive-through medication pick-up and home-delivery services as a patient safety initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method The implementation process of the drive-through and home delivery services are explained in detail. The utilization of these two services is evaluated by measuring the number of patients and prescriptions between April 2020 and August 2020. Result The increased utilization of drive-through medication pick-up and home delivery services in terms of the number of patients and prescriptions ensures patient safety by minimizing infection risk. Conclusion The increase in the utilization of drive-through medication pick-up and home delivery services reflects its successful implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both services meet the pandemic’s social-distancing requirements and minimize risks of infections, which will ensure patient safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
