In these days, electric vehicles are enthusiastically researched as a countermeasure to air pollution, although these do not have practicality compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The aim of this study is to transport energy wirelessly and efficiently to an electric vehicle. To accomplish this, we focused on frequency of an alternating current (AC) power supply, and suggested a method which determined the value of it constantly. In particular, a wireless power transfer circuit and a lithium-ion battery in an electric vehicle were expressed with an equivalent circuit, and efficiency of energy transfer was calculated. Furthermore, the optimal frequency which maximizes efficiency was found, and the behavior of voltage was demonstrated on a secondary circuit. Finally, we could obtain the larger electromotive force at the secondary inductor than an input voltage.

The safety of the use of construction facilities should be a priority in today’s busy world, where it is not difficult to get involved in an accident. Most of them, due to the pace at which we live today, are caused by slips, trips, and falls. This work presents a detailed analysis of the resistance of ceramic floors to these events, taking into account the surface properties and conditions (dry/wet), which, as presented, have a significant impact on the final slip resistance values. This study also investigates the relationship between surface roughness and anti-slip properties. According to the obtained results, it can be concluded that the surface roughness is not the main determinant of slip resistance, and the final value of it is influenced by many components that should be considered together and not be neglected when designing the surface finish. Furthermore, based on experimental measurements, it can be noted that the highest slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions showed the unglazed tiles with lapatto finish and the glazed tiles without any extra finish.

Process mining is a big data technology, which focuses on the discovery, monitoring, and improvement of business processes, based on real data from information systems. This teaching case describes the objectives of a German airline as it introduces process mining and discusses current and future value potentials of this technology. The case is particularly useful for executive MBA courses on Strategy (the value of IT investments) or master’s-level courses on Business Process Management. This case has three main learning objectives. First, students will evaluate the capabilities of different (technological) approaches to reaching the airline’s business goals and will make a justified decision on the feasibility of implementing process mining. Second, students will analyze the airline’s approach to implementing process mining and the challenges along the way. They will derive lessons learned and discuss approaches to solving challenges. Third, students will evaluate the value potentials of process mining. This will enable the students to make well-informed decisions on technology investments and to discover how these decisions can contribute to business goals. The case is designed to be taught in two formats. In a 90-min lecture, students need to prepare short assignments for classroom discussions. In a 180-min lecture, the assignments are included as group work during the lecture, but they require the students to read the case before class. Teaching Notes, including videos and additional study material to support group work, are available to eligible lecturers upon request.

Nutraceutical properties of mandarins are of great interest to promote their consumption. The occurrence of free amino acids in foods is relevant to assess the nutritional value of it. To learn more about the amino acids occurrence and variability between species, a targeted metabolomics study in Ellendale, Willowleaf and Page varieties was performed through ion exchange liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry. The studied amino acids were asparagine, glutamic acid, glutamine, histidine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, threonine and tyrosine. The difference between two consecutive seasons was evaluated, as well as the influence of fruit maturity of Page collected in two periods of 2015. The analytical methodology was validated. The concentration of the compounds through principal component analysis, separated well apart the three cultivars in both harvests, showing a particular profile for each of them. When comparing mature and immature cultivar Page, the amino acids with higher levels in mature samples were histidine, asparagine, glutamine and glutamic acid. The profiles were different due to genetic diversity, and the climatic conditions. These results add value to citric production.

In South Sumatra the cultivation of black rice is uncommon. This is because of the lack of available land for planting which can be used to grow local black rice. Since more farmers dominate the white rice or brown rice cultivation. One effort that can be made to increase the area of local black rice planting areas is to use South Sumatra's vast swampy land. Related to the previous study, this research will be carried out by testing the growth of F1 seeds crossed by accession to high productivity local black rice and nutrition with marinated resistant Inpara 5 varieties. In quantitative parameters, the maximum average value of it was shown at the age of 12 MST plants that IM.6 plants at 145.08 as the highest average value of the crossing results. IM.6 was the highest median value with 144.5. The maximum standard deviation value was 5.06 for IT.11 plants, and the minimum value being 141.4 for IM.6 forms and 150.0.6 for IM.6 plants. The qualitative parameters consist of plant shape, stem color, leaf color, and flag leaf are seen when the plant is 6 MST or in the vegetative phase. Done by describing plants from 5 sample plants per randomly selected population. From the result of this research, there is no significant differential between accession and parental.

The research is dedicated to the collector of the “new times” Evgeny Nutovich. He restored the main process of private collecting in the Soviet Thaw (Ottepel) Period — 1950–1960 years, which was interrupted for a long time, and the interest in the new phenomena in Russian arts. The analysis of the process of collecting shows us special origins and methods used by E. Nutovich, and the circle of painters represented in his collection. The very important is the understanding of the unique place of his creation among collections of his time and special value of it for modern cultural community.

BackgroundDespite the increasing use of immersive technology (IT) in ophthalmology, the effectiveness of this approach compared to other teaching practices is unclear. This systematic review aimed to determine the value of IT to teach students ophthalmic skills and whether it can supplement or replace conventional teaching practices.MethodsA systematic search was performed of CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE, ERIC and PsychINFO databases. Randomised controlled trials comparing IT interventions versus (1) no training, (2) standard training, (3) different types of IT interventions, (4) different doses of IT interventions were eligible for inclusion.ResultsSeven trials involving 177 participants were included. IT offered some benefit compared to standard training as most trials demonstrated evidence of learning represented by composite performance score and performance time. Repetitive training with IT displayed similar results.ConclusionIT appears to improve the ophthalmic skill of healthcare trainees and should be considered as a supplement to training.
