Mythicising and Mythologising: On Dorota Siwor’s book, Traces of Myth and Ritual The author discusses the issues touched upon in the book penned by Dorota Siwor, Traces of Myth and Ritual. On Polish Contemporary Prose – Not Only the Latest such as myth, mythologising and mythicising the presented world in the analysed books. She presents them in the context of research theories concerning myth, also, analysing the interpretative conceptions proposed by Siwor. She emphasises the quality of the publication, author’s erudition and the freedom in the selection of threads and motifs, which create a multidimensional space for combinatorial game suggesting potential Fullness, Jung’s coniunctio oppositorum – the union of form and matter, the imagined and real-world, culture and nature. She also indicates the fields on which polemics and criticism of the selection of the theories applied are possible.

In short, clustering is the process of partitioning a given set of objects into groups containing highly related instances. This relation is determined by a specific distance metric with which the intra-cluster similarity is estimated. Finding an optimal number of such partitions is usually the key step in the entire process, yet a rather difficult one. Selecting an unsuitable number of clusters might lead to incorrect conclusions and, consequently, to wrong decisions: the term “optimal” is quite ambiguous. Furthermore, various inherent characteristics of the datasets, such as clusters that overlap or clusters containing subclusters, will most often increase the level of difficulty of the task. Thus, the methods used to detect similarities and the parameter selection of the partition algorithm have a major impact on the quality of the groups and the identification of their optimal number. Given that each dataset constitutes a rather distinct case, validity indices are indicators introduced to address the problem of selecting such an optimal number of clusters. In this work, an extensive set of well-known validity indices, based on the approach of the so-called relative criteria, are examined comparatively. A total of 26 cluster validation measures were investigated in two distinct case studies: one in real-world and one in artificially generated data. To ensure a certain degree of difficulty, both real-world and generated data were selected to exhibit variations and inhomogeneity. Each of the indices is being deployed under the schemes of 9 different clustering methods, which incorporate 5 different distance metrics. All results are presented in various explanatory forms.

In the era of the Internet of Things and big data, we are faced with the management of a flood of information. The complexity and amount of data presented to the decision-maker are enormous, and existing methods often fail to derive nonredundant information quickly. Thus, the selection of the most satisfactory set of solutions is often a struggle. This article investigates the possibilities of using the entropy measure as an indicator of data difficulty. To do so, we focus on real-world data covering various fields related to markets (the real estate market and financial markets), sports data, fake news data, and more. The problem is twofold: First, since we deal with unprocessed, inconsistent data, it is necessary to perform additional preprocessing. Therefore, the second step of our research is using the entropy-based measure to capture the nonredundant, noncorrelated core information from the data. Research is conducted using well-known algorithms from the classification domain to investigate the quality of solutions derived based on initial preprocessing and the information indicated by the entropy measure. Eventually, the best 25% (in the sense of entropy measure) attributes are selected to perform the whole classification procedure once again, and the results are compared.

4574 Background: Randomized clinical trials for the implementation of new therapies include only a selection of patients that are later treated with these new options. Thus, real-world evidence is urgently needed not only to monitor the translation of treatment approaches into routine practice but also to improve cancer treatment and survivorship care on a broader scale. Methods: PAZOREAL is a prospective, multicenter, non-interventional study to evaluate effectiveness [primary time on drug (TD)], tolerability, safety, and quality of life (QoL) in patients (pts) with mRCC, treated with 1st L PAZO followed by 2nd L NIVO or everolimus (EVE). Results: Between Dec. 2015 and Sep. 2017, 421 pts were enrolled and 402 pts started 1st L PAZO treatment (Tx), 127 and 5 pts received NIVO and EVE as 2nd L Tx, resp., 56 entered follow-up. At time of data-cut (08 Nov 2018) median TD was 6.6 months (95%CI 6.0-7.9) for 1st L PAZO and 4.1 months (95%CI 3.2-5.8) for 2nd L NIVO (all pts), 8.1 months (95% CI 6.6-9.5) for PAZO and 3.2 (2.7-6.5) for NIVO Tx for trial eligible pts (39.1% of 402 pts). Median TD for pts with or without prior nephrectomy was 7.6 vs 4.5 months, resp. The clinical benefit rate of 1st L PAZO was 58.2 % (95% CI 53.3-62.9) based on investigator assessment. Median OS of PAZO was 29.5 months (95%CI 23.6-NA) for all pts, 28.2 months (95% CI 22.2-NA) for NIVO in 2nd L. The most commonly reported AEs for PAZO Tx were diarrhea (35%), nausea (20.3%) and fatigue (17.5%). Most common PAZO-related grade 3/4 adverse events were hypertension (5%), hypertensive crisis (2.3%) and GGT increase (1.8%). QoL evaluated by EQ-5D-5L remained stable over different Tx lines. Conclusions: The interim results of the PAZOREAL study confirm a favorable overall survival in pts with mRCC treated with 1st L PAZO in a real-world setting, good benefit-risk profile of PAZO and sustained QoL monitored over several treatment lines. In Germany NIVO as 2nd L Tx is commonly applied after 1st L Tx with PAZO.

The article discusses the reasonsfor an expert to participate in legal proceedings. The gnoseological reason for that consists of the bad quality of materials subject to examination that renders the examination either completely impossible or compromises objective, reasoned and reliable assessment of the findings. The procedural reason consists ofa proscription for an expert to collect evidence himself or herself. The author investigates into the ways of how an expert can participate in legal proceedings. If the defense invites an expert to participate in the proceedings, then it is recommended that his or her involvement should be in the presence of attesting witnesses and recorded in the protocol. In the course of the legal proceedings an expert has the following tasks: adding initial data, acquiring new initial data, understanding the situation of the incident, acquiring new objects to be studied, including samples for examination. An expert’s participation in legal proceedings differs from the participation of a specialist or an examination on the scene of the incident. The author describes the tasks that an expert solves in the course of legal proceedings, the peculiarities ofan investigation experiment practices, the selection of samples for an examination, inspection, interrogation.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a telecommunications technology that is able to pass the communication service in Internet Protocol networks so as to allow communicating between users in an IP network. However VoIP technology still has weakness in the Quality of Service (QoS). VOPI weaknesses is affected by the selection of the physical servers used. In this research, VoIP is configured on Linux operating system with Asterisk as VoIP application server and integrated on a Raspberry Pi by using wired and wireless network as the transmission medium. Because of depletion of IPv4 capacity that can be used on the network, it needs to be applied to VoIP system using the IPv6 network protocol with supports devices. The test results by using a wired transmission medium that has obtained are the average delay is 117.851 ms, jitter is 5.796 ms, packet loss is 0.38%, throughput is 962.861 kbps, 8.33% of CPU usage and 59.33% of memory usage. The analysis shows that the wired transmission media is better than the wireless transmission media and wireless-wired.

This study implements the auto start control system on an electric motor 3 phase C4Feeding pump when the discharge pressure is low-low (4.3 kg /cm²). The C4 feeding pumpmotor was initially manually operated from the local control station, this was very ineffectiveand inefficient because it still relied on the field operator to operate the pump motor and whenthe plant was in normal operating it is very risk if the field operator late to operate motor then itwill impact to quality of the product, and if the delay time to operate motor is too long then planthave to shut down, therefore improvement is needed in the C4 feeding pump motor controlsystem. In this paper, various types of 3-phase motor control are explained which allow it to beapplied to the C4 feeding pump motor that are on-off, inverter, and variable speed drive andefficient selection of the three systems control of the motor. Software and hardware used in thisthesis work are DCS CENTUM VP Yokogawa.

The recent reprinting of Álvaro de Silva’s 1998 edition of a selection of More’s letters prompts the author to examine the subject of Spanish translations of More, and of de Silva’s general commentary on More’s correspondence and on his relationship to other humanists. The author reflects on aspects of More’s personality as exposed in his letters and uses what he finds as a corrective to several biographical misconceptions. He points out the strengths and weaknesses of de Silva’s work and compares it with that of other translators, particularly Elizabeth Rogers, and notes the particularly Spanish quality of de Silva’s edition.

The construction and selection of a suitable bijective function, that is, substitution, is now becoming an important applied task, particularly for building block encryption systems. Many articles have suggested using different approaches to determining the quality of substitution, but most of them are highly computationally complex. The solution of this problem will significantly expand the range of methods for constructing and analyzing scheme in information protection systems. The purpose of research is to find easily measurable characteristics of substitutions, allowing to evaluate their quality, and also measures of the proximity of a particular substitutions to a random one, or its distance from it. For this purpose, several characteristics were proposed in this work: difference and polynomial, and their mathematical expectation was found, as well as variance for the difference characteristic. This allows us to make a conclusion about its quality by comparing the result of calculating the characteristic for a particular substitution with the calculated mathematical expectation. From a computational point of view, the thesises of the article are of exceptional interest due to the simplicity of the algorithm for quantifying the quality of bijective function substitutions. By its nature, the operation of calculating the difference characteristic carries out a simple summation of integer terms in a fixed and small range. Such an operation, both in the modern and in the prospective element base, is embedded in the logic of a wide range of functional elements, especially when implementing computational actions in the optical range, or on other carriers related to the field of nanotechnology.
