En este artículo se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuyos objetivos fueron identificar las concepciones sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de 62 profesores de Sonora (México), que imparten clases de ciencias naturales en secundaria, y estudiar la relación de estas concepciones con su práctica educativa en el aula. Para la obtención de los datos se realizaron observaciones de las clases y se aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada a los profesores. Un análisis cualitativo a las respuestas del profesorado en la entrevista indicó que la concepción sobre la enseñanza más frecuente fue la de transición entre una perspectiva tradicional y una constructivista, seguida de la tradicional. La concepción constructivista fue la menos frecuente. Por otro lado, el análisis de la práctica educativa de los profesores en el aula indicó un predominio del modelo de enseñanza tradicional de transmisión-recepción, aunque aproximadamente la mitad de los profesores incorporaron en sus prácticas algunas estrategias de enseñanza constructivistas. El análisis de la relación entre las concepciones de los profesores y sus prácticas educativas mostró algunas incoherencias. En general, los profesores presentaron una enseñanza más tradicional en su comportamiento en clase que lo manifestado en la entrevista sobre cómo enseñan. Estos resultados presentan implicaciones en el diseño de cursos de formación y actualización docente.   This article presents the results of an investigation whose objectives were to identify the conceptions about teaching and learning of 62 teachers of Sonora (Mexico), who teach natural sciences in secondary school, and to study the relationship of these conceptions with their educational practice in the classroom. To obtain the data, classroom observations were made and a semi-structured interview was applied to the teachers. A qualitative analysis of the teachers' responses in the interview indicated that the most frequent conception of teaching was the transition between a traditional and a constructivist perspective, followed by the traditional one. The constructivist conception was the least frequent. On the other hand, the analysis of the teachers' educational practice in the classroom indicated a predominance of the traditional transmission-reception teaching model, although approximately half of the teachers incorporated some constructivist teaching strategies in their practices. The analysis of the relationship between the teachers' conceptions and their educational practices showed some inconsistencies. In general, teachers presented a more traditional teaching in their classroom behavior than what was manifested in the interview about how they teach. These results have implications for the design of teacher training and updating courses.

AbstractStandard definitions posit the sign as a discrete entity in relation with other signs and standing for an object (either physical or psychological). Thus the sign has two roles, as prompt and as substitutive representation. The latter raises difficult questions about the relationship of the semiotic to the non-semiotic or pre-semiotic, which can be resolved logically (as in Peirce) or rejected as unanswerable (as in Saussure), but which can never be satisfactorily resolved empirically as the phenomenal cannot be divorced from the semiotic. This impasse can be resolved if we drop the assumption that the sign is essentially substitutive. The assumption of discrete entities, at either the phenomenal or the noumenal levels, is a function of discredited substance metaphysics. On a process metaphysical account, the reality of the sign is not attached to the discreteness of any pre-existing entity. The sign remains as prompt and as relational but not (other than sometimes with respect to other signs) substitutive. Rather than defined as standing for an object, the sign can now be regarded much more simply as a feature of an event. This conception of the sign is explored in terms of its implications for teaching and learning.

THE MEANING OF THE PLACE AND THE VISIBILITY OF THE SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL DILEMMAS LIVED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE JARDIM OLIVEIRA DISTRICT, CÁCERES, STATE OF MATO GROSSOEL SIGNIFICADO DEL LUGAR Y LA VISIBILIDAD DE LOS DILEMAS SOCIOAMBIENTALES VIVENCIADOS POR LOS MORADORES DEL BAIRRO JARDÍN OLIVEIRA, CÁCERES, MATO GROSSORESUMOEste estudo foi realizado no bairro Jardim Oliveira, situado na cidade de Cáceres/MT, à margem esquerda do rio Paraguai. O objetivo consistiu em entender a relação dos moradores com o lugar. A pesquisa foi de natureza exploratória e descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa. Para o levantamento de dados nos pautamos em observação, entrevista semiestruturada e registros fotográficos. Os resultados revelaram que o Jardim Oliveira é percebido pela experiência dos moradores, que mesmo com as limitações, conhecem, dão sentidos e significados ao lugar. Verificou-se a topofilia associada ao sentimento pelo lugar, o que poderia ser contraditório, visto que os mesmos interlocutores relataram que já vivenciaram e/ou presenciaram casos de violência no bairro. O rio Paraguai aparece como centralidade nas relações dos moradores com o lugar. É visível a ausência de infraestrutura básica no bairro, o que interfere de forma direta na vida dos moradores, levando-os a vivenciarem os dilemas socioambientais.Palavras-chave: Questões Socioambientais; Lugar; Rio Paraguai; Mato Grosso.ABSTRACTThis study was carried out in the Jardim Oliveira district, located in the municipality of Cáceres, State of Mato Grosso, on the left bank of the Paraguai River. The present study aimed to analyze the relationship of profile characteristics with group performance of tribal FIGs. The survey was purposively conducted in Erode district as it contains more number of tribal Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs). A total of five Tribal FIGs were randomly selected from 16 Tribal FIGs belonging to Dhimbam Dhaniya Farmer Producer Company Limited (DDFPCL) and the total sample size was 100. A well-structured interview schedule was prepared and employed to collect the data from the respondents. The findings showed that majority of the respondents were young aged with high school education, female marginal farmers receiving low level of annual income with medium level of farming experience. They had also received medium level of support from institution. The findings of the study also revealed that majority of the members of tribal FIGs had 76.00, 75.00, 73.00, 67.00 and 55.00 percentages of self-confidence, economic motivation, group leadership, group communication and information seeking behaviour respectively.To improve the performance of tribal FIGs, measures should be taken to increase the level of group communication, group leadership and group cohesiveness. This can be increased through organizing regular meetings for members, proper selection of leaders and making the members to understand the importance of group action

Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach (CTL) is one form of approach that can be said to be capable and very suitable to be a model of appropriate learning when applying the form of material in the classroom. Learning the form of CTL is closely related to the context, atmosphere or circumstances that can be interpreted also as learning related to a particular atmosphere. Talking about the atmosphere has to do with the use of the time form also known as tense. A little interesting about the Simple Future Tense that is raised to the core of learning because of this Tense became one of the important parts in the use of Grammar on learning English where we can express or declare actions in the future. This form uses the word 'will' and 'shall' (short form:’ll) plus infinitive. Besides using the form of 'going to' to be able to declare the time to come and the intention of the speaker to do something, for example I'm going to stop smoking '. CTL's role can make learning more effective and even create a fun and non-boring atmosphere, providing experiences that are closely related to the real world of learners and using a variety of learning resources; and therefore the method on CTL can provide understanding, development of science, the develop of knowledge and contextual understanding of learners about the relationship of subjects with what found learners in everyday life.Keywords : CTL, BE GOING TO vs WILL

Social constructivism is, first and foremost, the theory of knowledge focused on the role of social processes in knowledge creation. Its proponents are interested in interactions among people which are observed as the ways through which shared versions of knowledge are constructed. Starting from the widely acknowledged need for learning with deep understanding and increased interest in the social context of learning, the paper theoretically analyses social constructivism and its influence on educational practice. The goal is to critically re-examine the social constructivist perspective as a theory of teaching and learning and point out to its educational values based on certain conclusions mentioned in the literature. The paper also explores and highlights the basic starting points of social constructivism as well as its different interpretations. In addition, the paper studies relevant issues for education and learning suitable for applying social constructivism, both at the institutional and interpersonal level. It is concluded that social constructivism, applied in practice as a culture rather than as a set of isolated activities, is highly significant for understanding the complexity of the phenomenon of teaching and learning in school context, as well as for providing concrete guiding ideas (learning through cooperation, discovering and solving problems, joint exploration of knowledge and world reinterpretation) for enhancing educational theory and practice.

Background: The positive association between adverse life events and somatoform disorders is a consistent observation. But no systematic studies have evaluated the relationship between health-related life events (HLEs) in patients with somatic symptom disorder (SSD)/somatoform disorders. Aim: To examine the nature and relationship of HLE in patients with SSD and to assess the correlates of HLE. Methods: A total of 50 adult patients with SSD and 50 matched healthy controls from a Neuropsychiatric hospital were recruited. Sociodemographic interview, scale for assessment of somatic symptoms (SASS), Patient Health Questionnaire-15 (PHQ-15) and a semi-structured interview schedule to gather information on HLE were used. Results: Patients in the SSD group had a significantly higher number of total HLE in general (4.72 ± 2.63, 3.36 ± 1.92; p = .004), major HLE (1.48 ± 1.45, 0.68 ± 0.94; p = .006), during their lifetime in comparison to controls. Infections, trauma, non-communicable diseases and reproductive system–related diseases were the more common types of HLE in SSD group. Conclusion: Our findings may implicate a role of major HLE of patients and HLE of their family members in the pathophysiology of SSD.

Penelitian ini berjudul aplikasi keterampilan metakognitif dalam pembelajaran ekosistem di MAN Rukoh, pada hakekatnya penelitian ini tentang keterampilan metakognitif pada siswa di MAN Rukoh, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan metakognitif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X MAN Rukoh serta untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X MAN Rukoh. Metode yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimental dengan jumlah sampel 23 orang siswa. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa setelah Proses Belajar Mengajar (PBM) 71, rata-rata keterampilan metakognitif siswa adalah 27. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar adalah uji korelasi product moment pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Korelasi antara keterampilan metakognitif dan hasil belajar kognitif diperoleh rhitung = 0.669, sedangkan rtabel = 0,413, dimana r hitung lebih besar dari pada r tabel yang berarti Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolah. Hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar diperoleh 0,669 yang berarti memiliki hubungan yang cukup diantara kedua variabel tersebut. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Keterampilan metakognitif mempengaruhi hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X-4 MAN Rukoh, dan ada hubungan positif antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar. Kata Kunci: Aplikasi, Keterampilan Metakognitif dan Pembelajaran Ekosistem The study is entitled the application of metacognitive skills in learning ecosystem in MAN Rukoh. This research has two aims, namelty to determine the effect of metacognitive skills on cognitive learning outcomes of students Class X MAN Rukoh and to investigate the relationship between metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students Class X MAN Rukoh. The method used is pre-experimenta. The samples were 23 students. The average of students’ learning outcomes after Teaching and Learning (PBM) was 71, the average of students metacognitive skills was 27. The product moment correlation was used to analyze the data of the relationship of metacognitive skills to learning outcomes at the significance level of 0.05. The correlation between metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes obtained rcounting = 0.669, while rtable = 0.413, where r-count is higher than the r-table meaning while Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The relationship between metacognitive skills to the learning outcomes obtained 0.669 which means having a sufficient relationship between the two variables. The conclusion of this study is the metacognitive skills affect cognitive achievement grade 4 X-MAN Rukoh, and there is a positive relationship between metacognitive skills to learning outcomes. Ocean-atmospheric interactions have effects at different scales; forming microclimates, which can explain variations with climatic or natural anomalies, between meteorological processes. This research analyzes and identifies the relationship of the teleconnection hydrometeorological effects, which determine the distribution of precipitation in corn yield. The data were used from a semi-structured interview directed to corn producers, where seven years of case studies were identified for the eastern region of the state of Puebla, Mexico. The Graphics were made with “pentad scale distribution”. The results show the importance of geographical location for agricultural activities in relation to a valley with altitudinal gradient. In addition, the corn growth cycle is associated with tropical disturbances from east Puebla region as well as Hurricane activity. It was identified that the relationship of teleconnections and the distribution of rainfall are main factors that influence in the development good or bad of corn, showed in the yields, where the different phases of ENSO (EL NIÑO Southern Oscillation) have a differentiated impact on the availability of precipitation in this case studies of the present investigation.
