The Holy Spirit is the person who begins, works, and ends God's work in this world. The results of this work will impact the congregation's life, which grows both in quality and quantity. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit is widely seen as an external power that makes one's ministry successful. This chapter examines Bonhoeffer’s account of the church and advocates that throughout Bonhoeffer’s corpus there remains a desire to explicate the reality of the church in terms of its structural being with and for the other. This structure exists both internally in terms of its members’ relation to each other, and externally as the church relates as a corporate body to the world. The chapter considers Bonhoeffer’s ecclesiological method; the visibility of the church; vicarious representation; the church as the body of Christ; the agency of the Holy Spirit; preaching, the sacraments, and the offices of the church; and the question of the church in a religionless age.

Blessing, Father: Blessed be the Lord, who has stirred your Reverence, holy priest, to ask my humble person for an account of the life of our holy mother Melania the Roman, who dwells with the angels.1 Since I spent considerable time with her, I have a slight knowledge of the senatorial family from which she sprang and how, having forsaken the vanity of the world, she started out on an angelic way of life. But since I know my own shortcomings only too well, I considered myself incapable of narrating such great struggles. I rather decided that it was safer to refuse, believing that I could better exalt the noble servant of God by my silence than insult her outstanding achievements through my idle words. However, since you, holy priest, promised again to help me through your pious prayers, I took courage through the power of the [Holy] Spirit: I am preparing to throw myself into the infinite sea of narration, looking forward to the celestial reward for my obedience....

Confirmation is a ministry aimed at strengthening young people's understanding of faith, deepening their experience in Christian community, and equipping them to discern their calling to join in God's mission in the world. As the church engages in confirmation, young people encounter the gospel anew and congregations bear witness to the redemptive love of God and the covenant of grace into which all Christians are baptized. Learning from and with each other, within and across denominations, enhances confirmation as a discipleship ministry for young people. But it does more than that. As the body of Christ comes together to help young people encounter the gospel anew, lives are changed and become open to the Holy Spirit. Embracing our call to share the gospel and cultivate faith within young people not only serves the church today, it invests in the future.

Tong-il is the Korean title of a movement known in the West as The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, or the Union Church. God has formed Tong-il as an instrument of purification and renewal, bringing a new truth telling all men about the purpose of life, the responsibility of man, the way to establish a world of brotherhood and love and make the world into one family. This truth will raise Christianity to a higher dimension and give it the power and zeal which it needs to achieve God's purpose at the time of the second Advent. Tong-il works to renew Christianity, but its ultimate goal is to unite all religions, with its founder as a centre.

The article attempts to comprehend the notion of freedom in the idiolect of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The understanding of this term in the philosophical picture of the world, in the general dictionary is given. The term freedom in the religious picture of the world, in particular, in the Orthodox tradition, is explored. In the philosophical picture of the world, freedom is perceived as one of the main and most difficult categories, reflecting the essence of man, his ability to think and act not as a result of coercion, but freely embodying his intentions and interests. However, the limits of freedom are the interests of another person, society as a whole and nature as the basis of the existence of a society. Patriarch Bartholomew, like other representatives of Orthodoxy, wants to convey an extremely important thing to us. It consists in the fact that we must understand, understand, and understand that without God we can not do anything good. Only by invoking the Holy Spirit in our hearts, in our sincere prayers, only inspired by grace, we are capable of goodness. A believer is aware that she is endowed with God by the gift of freedom that she can choose between the path upward to higher moral values and the way down. However, in the Orthodox tradition, there is an understanding that the “divine image” in a man is obscured, but he is, he does not disappear. We know that even in this sinful world, a person, although in a certain spiritual captivity, is capable of noble deeds, of love, of self-sacrifice and of compassion for his neighbour. Thus, revealing the deep meaning of the notion of freedom in the concept of the personality of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, we plunge into the understanding of this term in the religious picture of the world. And that I would particularly like to emphasize, plunged into the notion of freedom in Orthodoxy. This made it possible to try to understand the complex and almost immutable words of a modern person – “Freedom is possible only in God”

The existence of Christians in this world cannot be separated from the community in which they are located. When someone is in the midst of a community with a different way of life, it is very possible for him to be similar to his surroundings. Whereas what God wants from the existence of Christians in the world is that they can become bright, not follow the flow around them. Paul once gave a special message to the Romans so that they would not be like this world but changed by renewal of mind. This study focuses on the study of the phrases ἀνακαινώσει τοῦ νοὸς (anakainosei tou noos) from Romans 12: 2, which literally means renewal of the mind. This study aims to find out what is meant by the renewal of the mind, why it is necessary to renew the mind, how the renewal of the mind occurs, and how it applies to the life of Christianity in the present. With the exegesis method, researchers try to find out the meaning of the phrase either through lexical studies or by paying attention to the background of letter writing. Having found the meaning and relation to the context of the phrase, its application is made for Christian life today. The conclusions of this research are as follows: First, the renewal of the mind in Romans 12: 2 is a renewal of one's awareness of the truth which builds understanding of the true meaning of life. Second, followers of Christ need to experience a renewal of the mind because the mind will play a role in determining its life, namely in creating or setting its standard of living. Third, renewal of the mind is a process that occurs continuously every day through the Word of God which is done by the Holy Spirit, so that by this process Christians will understand the will of God, that is what is good, that is pleasing to God and perfectAbstrakKeberadaan umat Kristen di dunia ini tidak dapat dipisahkan dari lingungan masyarakat di mana mereka berada.

This article is an exploration of the meaning, value, and function of psychotherapy within a theology of work. Using Volf's (1991) three-fold model of “work in the Spirit,” psychotherapy is seen as cooperation with God, as eschatological work, and as pneumatological or Spirit-centered work. Psychotherapy's most basic goal is to repair the broken personality. The work of psychotherapy is cooperation with God in God's own work of preserving and transforming the original, now-fallen creation. The fruit of such work—the healed and restored human person—will be the raw material from which God will build the new creation. Thus, the work of psychotherapy is God's work in both its intrinsic and instrumental value, as it honors the original creation and makes way for the new. Finally, psychotherapy is seen as God's work in that it is empowered by the Holy Spirit, who gifts, calls, and enables psychotherapists to participate in God's own preserving and transforming work in the world.

Came to realize that the reality of the experience of life and the struggle to form a person's quality of life and character make him/her having a deep spirituality. We can feel the power of God (the Divine) presents and works in every word and action, in every step of the way of our life. Touched, awared and moved by God, the writer realizes that there is a process and a dynamic relation between human reality and divine reality in an indigenious people spirituality. As we have to know that the indigenious people have a spirituality. They see spirituality as a way of life in which all people are free to be themselves and practice life according to their norms. Therefore, this article is a reflection and understanding of the writer about spirituality of indigenious people, especially Batak Toba tribe in North Sumatera.

For Anglicans, tradition entails continuity with a past mediated into present circumstances in ways that ever reshape understandings of God’s work in the world. Tradition is a concept with wide-ranging connotations that have changed over Anglican history. This essay highlights poignant moments that especially shaped contemporary Anglican notions of tradition, such as the medieval Conciliar Movement, the contributions of Richard Hooker, the Oxford Movement, and twentieth century ecumenism. Today Anglicanism’s global identity is reshaping its understandings of tradition, as the Holy Spirit reveals an ever wider and more intercultural picture of Christ. Through the process of handing on faith, our tradition reforms and grows.

Pelo diálogo com os casais e a convergência dos posicionamentos, sob a luz dos Espírito Santo, abrir-se-á o caminho da solução.ABSTRACT: Several opinion based polls demonstrate that the great majority of catholics, couples and parents, do not accept the official doctrine concerning “responsible parenthood”. Avoiding any easy solution and inspired by the texts of the Vatican Council II and its principal authors, some theological clues are analyzed: the principle of the Incarnation; the universality of moral consciences; the autonomy of terrestrial realities; the laity in the people of God as protagonists of action in the world. Through dialogue with couples and through the convergence of stances under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the way toward a possible solution may be opened up.
