Siamanto’s poetry is closely connected with the metrical characteristics of medieval poetry. Writing in accordance with the basic structural standards of free verse he connected the poetic meters of Armenian medieval lyrical poetry with various stylistic elements of modern poetry of the start of the century. The article presents poetic meters which were used by both several medieval poets, and Siamanto. The structural changes carried out by Siamanto have also been partly addressed in the present article.

In this paper, I attempt to read the poetic principle behind the Tammuzi movement of modern Arabic poetry through the lens of speculative poetics. While speculative-poetic accounts of modern poetry, such as those provided by Allen Grossman, blazed new paths connecting poetry to personhood in modernity, their application to the development of modern poetry outside of Europe remains limited by their self-avowed focus on European history. This paper will outline a critical corrective to speculative poetics which, I argue, can be of value in extending its domain of application to Arabic projects of poetic modernity, particularly the two tendencies of "free verse" and "commitment" poetry that emerged out of the Tammuzi movement.

The present article advances the notion of musical topography to describe the engagement between a practitioner and the musical instrument, emphasizing its developmental character. From the point of view of semiotic anthropology, it is suggested that the development of such a practical engagement is guided by expressivity, and that the instrument appears not only as an extension of the body, but participates in the generation of a unitary field, where bodily motion, the instrument and the tonal space are intertwined. The development of lived musical practice draws its force from a situated tradition that consists of normative, structural and stylistic elements, and of a constellation of genres and values shaped and reshaped by generations of practitioners. Finally, it is emphasized that the notion of musical topography brings back to musical praxis its long neglected imaginative dimension.

Undoubtedly a new generation of the tourist bus MAN  Lion's Coach was one of the most important premieres of this year's Busworld Europe fair. The preview show of this vehicle took place in Warsaw and in Starachowice in July this year. In turn the "twin" Neoplan Tourliner had its premiere during the last year's IAA fair in Hanover. It should be underlined, that stylistic and structural changes which have been implemented in both models of buses in past 20 years, just like in the case of their main competitor – Mercedes-Benz Tourismo, fully reflect trends which occurred on the long-distance transport market not only in countries of Central and Eastern Europe, but in entire Europe. In the present article technical and exploitation solutions in new MAN and Neoplan buses were expressed.

Intertextuality appears to be of crucial significance to better comprehend texts (Ahmadian and Yazdani, 2013).This research addresses intertextuality as an important technique manifested in modern Arabic poetry trying to investigate its conception, identify a sample of these salient embedded texts, and analyze them and their positive impact on enriching the text and illuminating some related issues such as ideology and perception of the world of experience in the Jordanian modern poetry, with special attention devoted to the recent poetry of Ayman Al-Otoum. Models representing this phenomenon in his poetry has been collected and compared with much assertion on the importance of this technique in enriching both levels: the idea and rhyme. The outcomes would be of a great importance to raise people’s awareness of the extensive impact of culture, religion, society on language, the tissue of the interrelated texts, enrich understanding of the language and enhance the translation practice and the quality of the translation output. Keywords: Intertextuality, intertextual elements, allusion, Arabic Free Verse Poetry, Ayman Al-Otoum’s poetry

Palestinian contemporary poetry is actually the voice of a nation who tries to reveal its positions against the enemy via poems. The poet is the describer of poverty, oppression, tyranny, subjugation and terror calling for resistance and fighting against the occupiers. Longing for going back to his homeland, he writes of his love for the country. Calling everyone to rise for a revolution, the poet is proud of his glorious Arab history while being outraged by his lost identity. In this analytical-descriptive study, it was tried to extract the main elements of resistance in the “modern” Palestinian poetry. The findings of the study show that the “modern” poetry abounds with concepts such as calling for resistance, extoling the distinguished positions of martyrs and praising the freedom fighters of the world. Utilizing different techniques such as, symbolic language, mythology, masking and calling, al-Manasra is one of the Palestinian poets who have tried to express his empathy with the Palestinian resistance movement.

This article presents, in the form of a free-verse poem, the trajectory by which the author discovered how to unleash his voice as an academic writer. The poem describes how the author became completely disillusioned with the processes and products of mainstream academic journals in accounting and business, and how the discovery, by serendipity, of a chapter presenting writing as a method of inquiry, by Richardson and St. Pierre, invigorated his academic career. Then, inspired by a series of letters written by the German poet Rainer Maria Rilke, the author presents a writing process that may be useful for other authors seeking to get rid of the standard academic “non-style” of writing and find their own voices.

Abstract Languages have been in contact since their existence. The Hungarian and Romanian languages have been so for at least 800 years. The present article aims at analysing the structural changes in the monosyllabic Hungarian loanwords in Romanian. After the theoretical introduction, I discuss the phonological status of the /j/ sound, which is very important in this kind of investigations. After that, I present the syllable structure types of these monosyllabic Hungarian etymons and I present, as well, the changing schemes of their structures in the borrowing. The study concludes that the most affected parts of the syllables are the nucleus and the coda.

Devoted to the poetry of I. Volgin’s later years, the article introduces his two latest books, Personal Data [Personalnie dannye] (2016), and Explanatory Dictionary [Tolkovyi slovar] (2019), and points out the changes in his lyrical poetry in the 2010s. The authors especially focus on Volgin’s language, which admits the latest slang but also follows classical examples, something which typifies the language of modern literature. The ‘new’ Volgin adopts the parlance of his protagonist, a product of contemporary mass media, who is at the same time endowed with certain autobiographical features of a self-reflecting hero. The result of this code-mixing is contagious: rooted in 19th c. culture, it can express both those overtones and the present mixture of seriousness and irony. Most importantly, however, it can read a man’s life like a text, and see nature within a cultural context. In Volgin’s works, these two worlds are mutually accessible, and this feature of his poetry is one of the keys to modern poetry in general.
