Blockchain is a new innovative technology that offers various benefits to society because it can be applied in various industries, including the financial industry. Several issues have arisen concerning sukuk practices in Malaysia, some of which are default payments, ambiguous risks, publishing process, lengthy transactions and high costs. In line with the digitalisation era, blockchain technology has the capability to improve the present sukuk structure in Malaysia by applying its characteristics to make the sukuk structure more efficient because sukuk plays an important role in a nation’s development and progress. However, sukuk is vulnerable to various risks. Therefore, this study is a preliminary survey aimed at identifying issues pertaining to sukuk, capability of blockchain technology and how this technology can complement the structuring of sukuk in Malaysia. This qualitative literature review study used the document analysis method to collect data. Findings show that the blockchain technology’s characteristics enables it to improve the structure of sukuk as well as complement and become a new addition to the Islamic capital market in Malaysia. This study hopes to contribute to the existing corpus of knowledge in all levels of society, especially those directly involved in sukuk, so that the sukuk market continues to expand with the times as well as contribute to the nation’s progress and comply with Shariah principles.

The emergence of a new pandemic, known as COVID-19, has touched various sections of the supply chain (SC). Since then, numerous studies have been conducted on the issue, but the need for a holistic review study that highlights the gaps and limits of previous research, as well as opportunities and agendas for future studies, is palpable. Through a systematic literature review on blockchain technology (BCT) deployment in supply-chain management (SCM) concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, this research seeks to add to the content of previous studies and to enlighten the path for future studies. Relevant papers were found using a variety of resources (Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and ProQuest). Seventy-two articles were systematically selected, considering the PRISMA procedure, and were thoroughly analyzed based on BCT, methodologies, industrial sectors, geographical, and sustainability context. According to our findings, there is a significant lack of empirical and quantitative methodologies in the literature. The majority of studies did not take specific industries into account. Furthermore, the articles focusing on the sustainability context are few, particularly regarding social and environmental issues. In addition, most of the reviewed papers did not consider the geographical context. The results indicate that the deployment of BCT in several sectors is not uniform, and this utilization is reliant on their services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the concentration of research on the impacts of the BCT on SCM differs according to the conditions of various countries in terms of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings also show that there is a direct relationship between the deployment of BCT and sustainability factors, such as economic and waste issues, under the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. Finally, this study offers research opportunities and agendas to help academics and other stakeholders to gain a better knowledge of the present literature, recognize aspects that necessitate more exploration, and drive prospective studies.

e-Government services have evolved significantly over the last decade, from a paper-based bureaucratic procedure to digital services. Electronically processed transactions require limited physical interaction with the public administration, and provide reduced response times, increased transparency, confidentiality and integrity. Blockchain technology enhances many of the above properties as it facilitates immutability and transparency for the recorded transactions and can help establish trust among participants. In this paper, we conduct a literature review on the use of blockchain technology in e-government applications to identify e-government services that can benefit from the use of blockchains, types of technologies that are chosen for the proposed solutions, and their corresponding maturity levels. The aim is to demonstrate blockchain’s potential and contribution to the field, provide useful insights to governments who are considering investing in this innovative technology, and facilitate researchers in their future activities in blockchain-enabled e-government services.

The leadership of the millennial generation today refers to the concept of western leadership. In fact, Indonesia is a country that has various noble values of the nation. One of these noble values is the concept of Ki Hajar Dewantara's leadership. According to Ki Hajar Dewantara, the essence of education is an attempt to internalize cultural values into the child, so that the child becomes a complete human being, both mentally and spiritually. This stage of internalization of cultural values is very important in shaping the character of the millennial generation as future leaders of the nation. In addition, in the wayang saga, there are astha brata values that correlate with the noble values of Ki Hajar Dewantara. These two values when applied will form the ideal leader character. Unfortunately, the value of leadership begins to fade with the times. This writing method uses a literature review study with a sociological and historical approach. The purposes of writing this article are, (1) Ki Hajar Dewantara's noble leadership model, (2) actualizing the present noble leadership of Ki Hajar Dewantara, and (3) maintaining the noble leadership of Ki Hajar Dewantara through the noble values of astha brata.

Private standards, including ecolabels, have been posed as a governance solution for the global fisheries crisis. The conventional logic is that ecolabels meet consumer demand for certified “sustainable” seafood, with “good” players rewarded with price premiums or market share and “bad” players punished by reduced sales. Empirically, however, in the markets where ecolabeling has taken hold, retailers and brands—rather than consumers—are demanding sustainable sourcing, to build and protect their reputation. The aim of this paper is to devise a more accurate logic for understanding the sustainable seafood movement, using a qualitative literature review and reflection on our previous research. We find that replacing the consumer-driven logic with a retailer/brand-driven logic does not go far enough in making research into the sustainable seafood movement more useful. Governance is a “concert” and cannot be adequately explained through individual actor groups. We propose a new logic going beyond consumer- or retailer/brand-driven models, and call on researchers to build on the partial pictures given by studies on prices and willingness-to-pay, investigating more fully the motivations of actors in the sustainable seafood movement, and considering audience beyond the direct consumption of the product in question.
