Fun learning is a method of learning that uses a basic needs-based approach for lower-class students. Fun learning is needed especially for lower-class students who have characteristics: a lot of moving, requiring a lot of teacher attention and a lot of introducing new things for students with a tendency to a limited level of concentration of lower grade students. This fun learning is an urgent need in this modern era. Therefore, this study aims to explain the concept of fun learning, especially for elementary school students (grades 1-3) elementary school level. The methodology used in this research uses a type of qualitative research with an analytical descriptive approach. The results showed that the concept of learning fun for elementary school lower class students should be based on the needs of lower-class students who prioritize motor movement over cognitive, explain the material in a visual way rather than auditory, involve students in the learning process (two-way learning rather than one-way), and include elements of games in learning.

Literacy is one way to build and develop children's thinking skills that are important for students. However, students' literacy habits are still low. Therefore, schools as one of the three educational centers should implement a literacy culture to improve children's thinking skills. This study aims to examine information about the application of literacy culture in schools and to apply literacy using children's stories for students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The subjects of this study were elementary school students. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that literacy activities in schools had been implemented with literacy fifteen minutes before the lesson started and used every corner of the school as a reading corner, while the implementation of literacy using storybooks was done by inviting students to read books with various story titles. Based on these results, it can be concluded that elementary schools already have a good literacy program and the application of literacy using storybooks can invite students to retell the story content and the moral values of the story. This research implies that schools should optimize their role as one of the three educational centers to build and develop literacy habits for elementary school students.

Learning media is an important tool in learning proces, especially learning media that are made based on student needs and characteristics. One of learning media that is effectively applied at the primary school level is a module. This study aims to produce and determine the feasibility of mathematics learning media in the form of HOTS integrated realistic-based modules on volume building materials (cubes and blocks) as learning media for fifth grade elementary school students. The subjects of study were six students of grade V SD Negeri Sindurjan. The research method was used R&D (Research and Development) using ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. Based on the results of research (1), a HOTS integrated realistic mathematics module development product is produced. (2) The validation results obtained from the evaluation of media experts by 3.20 and material experts by 3.65. From the two results, it was developed to be 3.40 or > 3.25, the very valid category. (3) The practicality questionnaire was obtained from the student response assessment of 3.40 or > 3.25 with the very practical category. Thus the HOTS integrated realistic-based mathematics module is suitable for use as a learning medium for fifth grade elementary school students.

This study in the background backs low student motivation, especially elementary school mathematics subject matter. Mathematics courses is one of the lessons learned from the primary school level. Even informally parents have taught mathematics to the toddler through the tools of play. Elementary students have thought of mathematics courses is subject scary and considered difficult. Mathematics courses are eye pelajarana considered difficult for students, student motivation to learn a low, monotonous learning process, uninteresting and boring for students. Students in participating in math do not wholeheartedly and only keterpaksaaan alone. Conditions like these that lead to low mathematics achievement. One of the characteristics of mathematics is to have an abstract object and became one of the difficulties faced by both teachers to teach and students in understanding it. Teachers as educators should be aware that elementary school students still think concretely. This causes the teacher should try to reduce the abstract nature of mathematical objects so as to facilitate the students understand the subject matter, but still directed towards the achievement of learning abstract thinking ability of students. Elementary school students still think concretely, it is easy to understand if it can be detected by the senses. Learning strategies should be able to maximize all potential, every student has the same right to succeed. All the elements that underpin the success of learning should be mixed into an accumulation that really create a learning atmosphere. Some of the techniques used is to give positive suggestions with seats the students are comfortable, put background music in the classroom, increasing the participation of individuals, using posters to give a great impression while highlight information (DePorter, 2005: 14). Thus we can conclude quantum mathematics learning strategy learning can increase students' motivation.

This study is aimed to analyze probabilistic thinking of elementary school students based on math ability and gender differences. Descriptive explorative approach was used to describe in depth probabilistic thinking of boys with high, middle, low math ability and girls with high, middle, low math ability. The result showed that probabilistic thinking of boy with high math ability indicated multistructural because his thinking quantitative and proportional. While probabilistic thinking of boys with middle, low math ability and girls with high, middle, low math ability indicated unistructural because their thinking quantitative and non proportional. Beside that, boys’ thinking in solving probability tasks was more analytical and flexible than girls’ thinking. So, students with math ability difference, gave difference response in solving probability tasks. This result found new strategy in solving probability comparison task. This result could contribute to curriculum developer to introduce probability in elementary school level and teachers could use discussion method in teaching probability material.

Teaching aids for learning to Build Space now still depend on the old way, namely by still using 2-Dimensional media. Teachers such as Teachers still have difficulty making visual tools to learn the material of Building 3 Dimensions. And students still find it difficult to learn and explore the material to Build Space delivered by the teaching staff, with its limitations and lack of visual tools they can only imagine what the shape of the Space Build is like. With that, the author tries to make interactive learning applications so that geometric models such as cubes, tubes, cones, pyramids and balls can foster interest in learning mathematics at elementary school level by utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) technology, which is technology that merge two-dimensional or three-dimensional virtual objects into a real environment and then project these virtual objects in real time. One of the materials in learning mathematics for fifth grade elementary school students is Build Space. If you pay attention to the average age of elementary school students in class V is at the age of 10-11 years. The author obtained the final results of the study in the form of learning to Build 3-Dimensional Space with the Virtual Button method and test results from Smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 4 devices with a minimum distance of ± 15cm and a maximum of ± 81cm. Testing the response speed <1 second, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Smartphone shows better results than other smartphones.

ABSTRACTThe shifting of curriculum from School-based to curriculum of 2013 which has been regulated under the Government of the Republic of Indonesia’s Regulation number 32 year 2013 about the alteration of Government Regulation number 19 year 2005 about National Standard of Education has some consequences in several factors. One of them is on the elimination of English subject in elementary school. Meanwhile, English is still badly needed in elementary school level. As a result, English is still offered in elementary school level but not as a subject. Instead, it is offered as a compulsory extra curricular for students. However, there was problem in its implementation which was caused by the different materials taught while the test administered was the same. As the consequence, the target for achievement could not meet the Minimum Mastery Criterion. It is even worse thatEnglish score becomes one of the requirements for enrolling in Junior High level. Thus, uniformity of syllabus and teaching materials for English subject for elementary school students is deemed necessary. Local values needs also to be embedded in the teaching materials to be developed as it is important in providing character education and reinforcing nasionalism for students. Prior to material development, a guideline for development is required.  Thus, need analysis and local wisdom-based syllabus development for elementary school level becomes the focus for this research. How to Cite: Sartika,  D. H.
