The millennial’s interest towards Islamic da’wah is decreased significantly, caused by the da’wah approach and strategy which are still conservative, monotonous, and only delivered on lecturing way. In fact, on the other hand, the millennial generation expects an inspirational, modern, elastic, dynamic, innovative, and entertaining da’wah. This study aims to describe, analyze, and interpret the implications of inspirational da’wah conducted by the Da’wah Management department of IAIN Tulungagung in increasing the young generation's interest in Islamic teachings and da’wah. In principle, inspirational da’wah has been carried out by Suryadharma Ali, the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia on 2009-2014, who stated that one of the main jobs of UIN and IAIN is to maintain and develop scientific traditions in the field of Islamic studies which are increasingly less desirable by the community because there has been a change in community orientation toward Islamic da’wah. So, the quality of Islamic institutions in Indonesia needs to do the more serious, systematic, and measurable efforts in order to increase the quality of Islamic da’wah, as well as PTKIN graduates must be more competitive. The ideas of this article inspired by the Grand Theory of Medan Da’wah promoted by K.H. Ahmad Muwafiq that the success of the da’wah is influenced by the theological, cultural, and object of the da’wah when the implementation of the Islamic da’wah is delivered. Furthermore, the Islamic da’wah is an inspiration to realize the teachings of Islam in personal and social life in line with the culture of the society in terms of life that aim to uphold amar ma'ruf and nahi munkar. This is qualitative research with a descriptive method of phenomenological analysis. While the results of the study are: First, Inspirational da’wah has implications for increasing trends and millennial generation interest for IAIN Tulungagung students towards Islamic da’wah. Second, the inspirational da’wah referred to in this study is the iain tulungagung hijaber community, inspirational da’wah comedy, electronic da’wah bulletin, da’wah literacy, and online da’wah through the official campus website. Keywords: Inspirational Da’wah, Millenial Generation, IAIN Tulungagung

The second chapter is a literature review. The first section tackles the different theological positions Muslim scholars have posited with regard to activism. This is important as we find that some of these stances guide, or are used to justify, the various forms of activism. I further discuss the types of Muslim activists, and the social movement literature, in order to ground the findings of this book within a field of study. The idea is that the book should be relevant beyond Singapore or even Islamic studies, and locating the book within the literature of social movements serves this purpose.

Abstract In nationalist Quebec, French is rejected as the bearer of a foreign culture in the same way that the Québécois' native land, despoiled by the English, has become the country of the Other. Theatre, more than anything else, lent itself to the task of differentiation allotted to language. As of 1968 the vernacular has become the language of the stage as well as of theatre translation such as the exchange value of both foreign works and French translations from France increasingly erodes. Translating "into Québécois" consists in marking out the difference which opposes French in Quebec and so-called French from France. Since, however, the special quality of Québécois French is truly noticeable only among the working classes, Québécois theatre translations are almost always marked by proletarization of language and lowering the social status of the protagonists, thereby increasing the translation possibilities first and foremost of American sociolects.

Literary history emerges when critical readers in sufficient number move beyond primary recognition of individual texts into a secondary awareness of a scheme, a sense of the connections that exist between these texts.1 Literary history considers the development of a whole body of literature, tracing multifarious influences and innovations through time. In the course of Anglo-Saxon studies the slow and sporadic reappearance of the literary remains resulted in the late nourishing of a schematic or historical overview. As Wellek reminds us, ‘the antiquarian study of Anglo-Saxon remained…outside the main tendency towards literary history’2 that occurred in late-seventeenth- and early-eighteenth-century England. So, too, the special quality of Old English poetry itself contributed to the laggard creation of a history. It is difficult to map the path of a literature in which all dating is only good guessing and in which a tenaciously conservative oral—formulaic style makes attempts at suggesting influence hazardous.

Abstract A recent comprehensive effort to digitize U.S. daily temperature and precipitation data observed prior to 1948 has resulted in a major enhancement in the computer database of the records of the National Weather Service’s cooperative observer network. Previous digitization efforts had been selective, concentrating on state or regional areas. Special quality control procedures were applied to these data to enhance their value for climatological analysis. The procedures involved a two-step process. In the first step, each individual temperature and precipitation data value was evaluated against a set of objective screening criteria to flag outliers. These criteria included extreme limits and spatial comparisons with nearby stations. The following data were automatically flagged: 1) all precipitation values exceeding 254 mm (10 in.) and 2) all temperature values whose anomaly from the monthly mean for that station exceeded five standard deviations. Additional values were flagged based on differences with nearby stations; in this case, metrics were used to rank outliers so that the limited resources were concentrated on those values most likely to be invalid. In the second step, each outlier was manually assessed by climatologists and assigned one of the four following flags: valid, plausible, questionable, or invalid. In excess of 22 400 values were manually assessed, of which about 48% were judged to be invalid. Although additional manual assessment of outliers might further improve the quality of the database, the procedures applied in this study appear to have been successful in identifying the most flagrant errors.
