The effect of organizational resources in technological innovation has been widely studied. However, the effect of these resources in organizational innovation is a subject that still requires greater scrutiny. Relying on the resource-based view of the firm, we hypothesize that the knowledge-centered culture and the social interaction are factors (resources) that affect the organizational innovation, but that this effect is mediated by the knowledge management. Using a transversal study with a sample ofMexican public hospitals through its high and medium level managers perception we found support for the hypotheses. Results of the research confirm the importance of a knowledge-centered culture, social interaction, and knowledge management as predictors of organizational innovation. This study also buttresses the critical role of knowledge management as a mediating variable in the influence of a variety of factors on the development of organizational capabilities. Keywords: Organizational innovation, knowledge management, organizational resources.

The research was an applied study in terms of the aim of study and a descriptive-correlation in terms of the research method. The population of the study included the staff of Sepahan Battery Industrial Complex as more than 800 individuals in 2015. From among this population, 260 participants were randomly selected. The research instruments for collecting data were questionnaire, The results of the analysis of the questionnaires and testing the hypotheses by Smart-PLS indicatedthat the variable of knowledge managementis directly effective onorganizationalentrepreneurship, but has indirect effects on organizational entrepreneurship via the mediatingrole of organizational innovation.

One of the most significant prerequisites for an innovative school is the presence of transformational leaders and knowledge sharing. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the transformational leadership on organizational innovation with the mediating role of knowledge management. It applied research by orientation, descriptive research by purpose, survey research by strategy, causal research by nature, and a questionnaire in terms of data collection methods. Data were collected from 265 school principals, expert officers and deputy managers at the Department of Education of Dasht-e Azadegan county, Khuzestan province, Iran. As the target population was small, census sampling was adopted and all the 265 members participated in the survey. For data collection, the Multifactor Leadership, Organizational Innovation, and Knowledge Management Questionnaires were used, whose reliability (using Cronbach’s alpha) was estimated to be 0.89, 0.93, and 0.91, respectively. Factor analysis was used for validity assessment. For data analysis, structural equation modeling in Amos software was employed. The results showed that components of intellectual stimulation, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, and individualized consideration, both directly and through the mediating role of knowledge management, influence organizational innovation of schools.

Literature on KM has greatly emphasized the role of IT as a decisive element in the success of KM while other capabilities are ignored or are not taken into account together. How these capabilities work together to support KM is a subject under-explored in the literature. The present study makes an attempt to bridge this gap and tries to answer the following research questions: (a) how organizational capabilities manifest themselves in the knowledge management processes; (b) how do the capabilities support the KM initiatives; and (c) how similar knowledge management systems can lead to different KM success patterns with difference in capabilities. Paper makes use of qualitative case study research design to explore the above questions in two mid-sized Indian IT Companies. Findings of the study show that companies operating in the same industry and having similar knowledge management systems can exhibit different level of success and acceptance based on their organizational capabilities.

The higher education sector faces considerable competition around the world. Accordingly, universities need to make more efforts to increase their competitive advantages. This study aimed to empirically investigate the effect of organizational innovation (OI), knowledge management (KM), and strategic human resource management (SHRM), with a dependent variable of sustainable competitive advantages (SCAs), at Jordanian Universities. For this aim, a specially designed questionnaire has been distributed to study a convenience sample of 400 academic and administrative staff at Jordanian private and public universities, to obtain the required quantitative data. The study’s hypotheses were verified by Baron and Kenny’s mediation regression approach using the software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the study demonstrate that there is a significant positive relationship between the following pairs of variables: KM and SCA; SHRM and SCA; SHRM and OI; KM and OI; and OI and SCA, whereas OI was found to have a partial and indirect significant mediation impact on the direct relationship between KM and SHRM and universities (organizations) gaining SCAs. Finally, it was concluded that more attention needs to be paid to the OI aspect in organizations and to integrate it with KM and SHRM in a way that promotes SCAs. In addition, we propose that similar studies should be conducted in industries other than education or the education sector in different countries in a way that obtains generalized and representative results.

PurposeConstructed upon a knowledge-based view, the purpose of this paper aims to empirically examine the entrepreneurial leadership impact as knowledge management enabler on knowledge management processes and knowledge management processes on project success. The study further ascertains the mediating role of knowledge worker satisfaction among knowledge management processes and project success.Design/methodology/approachUsing the data collected from 302 project workers from the software industry, China. The research used structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the hypothesis relationships using smart-PLS 3.2.9.FindingsThe outcome of the study reveals that entrepreneurial leadership has a substantial significant impact on knowledge management processes, and knowledge management processes influence project success via knowledge worker satisfaction as a mediator both directly and indirectly. Moreover, the study found partial mediation of knowledge worker satisfaction between knowledge management processes and project success.Practical implicationsThe current research identifies that entrepreneurial leadership may play a role in fostering knowledge management processes in project-based organizations (e.g. software industry) that can use the knowledge management processes to increase their chances of project success. More broadly, the current study contributes to the entrepreneurial leadership, knowledge management processes, knowledge worker satisfaction and project success existing literature and strengthens the relationship and suggest that how project manager's value knowledge worker satisfaction and help organizations gain competitive advantage and project success.Originality/valueAlthough there is an increased significance of knowledge management in the software industry, there is a lack of research that examines the enabling factors and outcomes of knowledge management practices. The present study is one of the first studies to ascertain the relationship of entrepreneurial leadership, knowledge management processes, knowledge worker satisfaction and project success. This is one of the initial researches that not only empirically examines the interrelationships among these variables but also enlighten insights into the current literature by instantaneous investigation of the mediating role of knowledge worker satisfaction.
