ABSTRACT Introduction In case of internal disasters, such as fire in hospitals, health services to the community are severely hampered with the additional morbidity of victims, such as employees and visitors present when the disaster strikes. Risk assessment and fire preparedness are most crucial proactive measures to prevent fire disasters and minimize the loss in a hospital; however, scanty studies are available on this topic. Materials and methods This cross-sectional study was conducted at a multispecialty hospital in Mumbai, Maharashtra (India), during March. April 2014. Fire-Safety Preparedness Framework (FSPF) was designed with four domains (risk and vulnerability assessment, response mechanisms and strategies, preparedness plan and information management) for evaluation of fire safety preparedness of hospital employees. Baseline variables were summarized; instrument was tested for reliability using Cronbach's alpha and content validity through review by experts. The number of correct responses for each question was further analyzed across the type of employee. Results The instrument showed high reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.89, p-value. 0.01) and content validity. A total of 207 employees (mean age 32) 8.3 years, 63% females) consented and participated in the study. Out of 20 questions, awareness was high (90%) only for three questions from Response mechanism and strategies-domain. For the remaining questions, awareness was moderate to low. The awareness varied highly with the type of employee. Conclusion The FSPF is a reliable tool for application in the Indian context for hospital employees. Disaster preparedness training and drill need to involve employees from all departments as awareness levels varied highly with type of employee. El estudio de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la gestión del conocimiento en la productividad de la empresa CONSTRUCTORA PBG E.I.R.L. San Martín de Porres, 2020. El tipo de investigación fue de tipo básica, diseño correlacional, transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 70 colaboradores, con una población censal de 70 trabajadores, con instrumentos validados por expertos y una alta fiabilidad. La escala de percepción de la gestión del conocimiento, para el presente estudio presentó confiabilidad con Alfa de Cronbach de 0.788 indicando una fuerte consistencia interna, y la Escala de productividad, para la investigación presentó validez de confiabilidad con Alfa de Cronbach de 0.891 indicando una fuerte consistencia interna. Los resultados  descriptivos de la  variable gestión del conocimiento  según los trabajadores el 35.7% lo considera deficiente, el 42.9% los considera regular y el 21.4% es considerado como eficiente; en la dimensión Creación del conocimiento, el 28.6% lo considera deficiente, el 50.0% los considera regular y el 21.4% es considerado como eficiente; en la dimensión Transferencia del conocimiento el 25.7% lo considera deficiente, el 45.7% los considera regular y el 28.6% es considerado como eficiente; en la dimensión Aplicación del conocimiento el 28.6% lo considera deficiente, el 42.9% los considera regular y el 28.6% es considerado como eficiente. Los resultados nos indicaron la gestión del conocimiento se relaciona con la productividad se relacionan moderadamente con un (Rho 0,622 y p-valor 0,000)   The research study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge management on the productivity of the company CONSTRUCTORA PBG E.I.R.L. San Martín de Porres, 2020. The type of research was basic, correlational, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 70 collaborators, with a census population of 70 workers, with instruments validated by experts and high reliability. The knowledge management perception scale for the present study presented reliability with Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.788 indicating strong internal consistency, and the Productivity Scale, for the investigation, presented reliability validity with Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.891 indicating strong internal consistency. The descriptive results of the knowledge management variable according to the workers, 35.7% consider it deficient, 42.9% consider it regular and 21.4% consider it efficient; in the Knowledge creation dimension, 28.6% consider it deficient, 50.0% consider it regular and 21.4% consider it efficient; In the knowledge transfer dimension, 25.7% consider it deficient, 45.7% consider it regular and 28.6% consider it efficient; In the Knowledge Application dimension, 28.6% consider it deficient, 42.9% consider it regular and 28.6% consider it efficient. The results indicated that knowledge management is related to productivity and is moderately related to a (Rho 0.622 and p-value 0.000)

Background Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is a widely accepted scientific advancement in clinical settings that helps achieve better, safer, and more cost-effective healthcare. However, presently, validated instruments to evaluate healthcare professionals’ attitude and practices toward implementing EBM are not widely available. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the validity and reliability of a newly developed knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) questionnaire on EBM for use among healthcare professionals. Methods The Noor Evidence-Based Medicine Questionnaire was tested among physicians in a government hospital between July and August 2018. Exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency reliability-based Cronbach’s alpha statistic were conducted. Results The questionnaire was distributed among 94 physicians, and 90 responded (response rate of 95.7%). The initial number of items in the KAP domains of the Noor Evidence-Based Medicine Questionnaire were 15, 17, and 13, respectively; however, two items in the practice domain with communalities <0.25 and factor loadings <0.4 were removed. The factor structure accounted for 52.33%, 66.29%, and 55.39% of data variance in the KAP domains, respectively. Cronbach’s alpha values were 0.81, 0.81, and 0.84 for KAP domains, respectively, indicating high reliability. Conclusions This questionnaire can be used to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour of healthcare professionals toward EBM. Future testing of this questionnaire among other medical personnel groups will help expand the scope of this tool.

Background:One of the goals of nursing is to provide safe patient care and medical errors are one of the most important threats in this field.Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess the status of error reporting culture and determine its relationship with demographic characteristics.Methods:This descriptive,analytical and cross-sectional study was carried out among 239 nurses of amiralmomenin and bouali hospitals. First,face validity and then content validity were performed by 15 nursing experts and the questionnaire was distributed and collected. The normal distribution of data was confirmed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The reliability and construct validity were performed with Cronbach’s Alpha test and exploratory factor analysis by PCM.The status of reporting culture was determined by computing descriptive statistics and its relation with demographic variables with Pearson correlation test and logistic regression test with SPSS software version 16.Results:The content validity with CVR &CVI of 0.820 and 0.920 were confirmed. The reporting culture was favorable with a mean and standard deviation of 2.674 and 0.475.The reliability with Cronbach's alpha of 0.747 and the construct validity with a KMO of 0.727 and Significance of the Bartlett test were confirmed and 3 subscales were extracted. The relationship between age and work experience with the reporting culture with a correlation of 0.009 and 0.013 with a significant < 0.05 were rejected But with the variable of gender(=female) with a chance of 2.536 and the significant of 0.006 was confirmed.Conclusion:Developing a safety culture in hospitals by implementing various health programs improves the reporting culture,but the mental climate is undesirable and requires major steps to reduce worries and negative outcomes after reporting.The presence of female nurses in comparison with men improves the error reporting culture.Perhaps the main reason is patriarchy in Iranian culture.

The objective is to validate the content of the information collection instrument, through expert judgement and pilot testing. Methodology: Non-experimental, correlational research with a cross-sectional design. The first sample of the expert judgment was composed of 8 experts, the second of 27 employees was used for the pilot test. Unit of measurement: Employees from four Technological Universities of Puebla, studying empowerment, leadership, work routine, collaborative work and innovation. The methodology of the analysis included the Kendall Concordance Coefficient (W), to decide the level of correlation between the experts and we used Cronbach’s Alpha for the statistical analysis of the pilot test to measure the reliability of the measurement scale. The results of the expert judgement showed changes that would improve the clarity of the instrument. The wording would be expressed in third person, the use of technical language would be avoided, with the aim of generalizing understanding in the wording. The identification data would be defined according to the organizational structure of the media unit. Kendall's coefficient and Cronbach's Alpha showed acceptable agreement. Discussion. It is important to control the application of these tests with strict adherence to the methodology, minimizing human bias. It is concluded that the content validity represents an elemental tool to evidence the dominance and representativeness of the constructs. If the results are not reached, it is possible to repeat the process until acceptable values are reached. It is proposed to improve the instrument as a result of the experts' judgment and check the concordance between experts.

ABSTRACT Objective: To develop and validate an instrument for the self-assessment of the Patient Safety Centers in health care institutions. Method: Non-experimental methodological study. Divided in the following stages: literature review and construction of the preliminary instrument; content validation by nine professionals with experience in Quality Management and patient safety, who contributed to the adequacy of the items in terms of clarity and relevance; finally, 12 PSC coordinators, which conducted the reliability validation of the final instrument, using Cronbach's Alpha. Results: The instrument presented content validity regarding clarity and relevance, evidenced by an agreement level greater than 70%. The internal consistency presented high reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.857 for the general instrument, 0.825 for the domain Structure, and 0.809 for the domain Process. Conclusion: The instrument presented evidence of content validity and reliability for self-assessment, implementation and evaluation of the PSC in health institutions.

Abstract Background: Routine Health Information Systems (RHIS) of low-income countries function below the globally expected standard, characterised by the production and use of poor-quality data, or the non-use of good quality data for informed decision making. This has negatively influenced the health service delivery and uptake. This study focuses on identifying the factors associated with the performance of RHIS of the health facilities (HF) in Yaoundé, so as to guide targeted RHIS strengthening.Methods: A HF-based cross-sectional study in the 6 health districts (HDs) of Yaoundé was conducted. HFs were chosen using stratified sampling with probability proportional to size per HD. Data were collected, entered into Microsoft Excel 2013 and analysed with IBM- SPSS version 25. Consistency of the questionnaire was measured using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Pearson’s chi-square (and Fisher exact where relevant) tests were used to establish relationships between qualitative variables. Associations were further quantified using unadjusted Odd ratio (OR) for univariable analysis and adjusted odds ratio (aOR) for multivariable analysis with 95% confidence interval (CI). A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results: Of 111 selected HFs; 16 (14.4%) were public and 95 (85.6%) private. Respondents aged 24-60 years with an average of 38.3±9.3 years; 58 (52.3%) males and 53(47.7%) females. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.96 (95%CI: 0.95 – 0.98, p<0.001), proving that the questionnaire was reliable in measuring RHIS performances. At univariable level, the following factors were positively associated with good performances: supportive supervision (OR = 3.03 (1.1, 8.3); p = 0.02), receiving feedback from hierarchy (OR = 3.6 (0.99, 13.2); p = 0.05), having received training on health information (OR = 5.0 (1.6, 16.0); p = 0.003), and presence of a performance evaluation plan (OR = 3.3 (1.4, 8.2), p = 0.007). At multivariable level, the only significantly associated factor was having received training on health information (aOR = 3.3 (1.01, 11.1), p = 0.04).Conclusion: Training of health staff in the RHIS favors RHIS good performance. Hence, emphasis should be laid on training and empowering staff, frequent and regular RHIS supervision, and frequent and regular feedback, for an efficient RHIS strengthening in Yaoundé.

Abstract Background The tendency of women to smoke has increased in recent years and the prevalence of smoking among women is increasing. The purpose of this study was to design and evaluation the psychometric properties of the smoking tendency questionnaire for Iranian female adolescents. Methods This cross-sectional study was performed on 604 female adolescents in Iran in 2021. The bank of questions was designed based on the qualitative study concepts and review of the literature. To perform the psychometric evaluation, steps such as face validity (qualitative), content validity (qualitative and quantitative) and construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis) were performed. The reliability of the instrument was assessed using McDonald’s omega coefficient and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Results Based on the results of psychometrics (face, content, and construct validity), the number of questions was reduced from 102 to 52, and 50 questions were removed. Finally, a questionnaire with 52 questions and 5 subscales of the tendency to experience smoking (14 items), re-experience smoking (8 items), cigarette dependence (9 items), intention to quit smoking (9 items), and smoking cessation (12 items) was approved. The content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) for all questions were 0.770 and 0.938, respectively. The Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega coefficients for all questions were 0.903 and 0.904, respectively. Conclusion Based on the results of this questionnaire, 52 questions, and 5 subscales can be used to assess the tendency of female adolescents to cigarette smoking.

Background Advancements in information technology have been instrumental in successful recent developments in telemonitoring systems. In this regard, there is a lack of development of valid and reliable tools to determine the requirements and applications of telemonitoring systems used to provide health care for frail elderly people living at home, specifically in a national setting. Method A cross-sectional study was carried out in 2018. The statistical population was 15 geriatric and gerontology professionals and 15 health information management experts. Then, content validity ratio (CVR), Cronbach's alpha, and correlation coefficient were calculated for measuring content validity, internal consistency and external reliability (through the test–retest method) respectively. SPSS software was used to analyze the collected data. Results Based on the identified items, a draft questionnaire was developed. Using the validity analysis in two stages, 37 items were removed, and 60 items were approved as the essential system requirements. The final questionnaire was organized into five sections with content validity index 99% and internal reliability (Cronbach's alpha coefficient 0.9). Furthermore, the external reliability results of the questionnaire showed that this instrument has a desirable correlation coefficient ( r = 0.85, p-value<0.05). Conclusion Considering the desirable validity and reliability of the questionnaire developed, it is recommended to telemonitoring system designers to determine the usages and requirements of health monitoring systems for frail elderly people living at home. The verified instrument is suitable for use in countries with the same living conditions and level of development as Iran.

Background: Although many previous studies have used the Preparedness for Caregiving Scale (PCS), it has not been translated and validated in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aimed to translate and evaluate the PCS’s psychometric adequacy among family caregiver of non-communicable disease (NCD) patients in Indonesia. Methods: The linguistic of the PCS was validated using a standard forward-backward process. The Indonesian version was approved with Content Validity Index (CVI). Then a cross-sectional survey was conducted to establish the construct validity of the PCS to measure caregiver preparedness. A purposive sampling approach was used to recruit 40 consenting family caregivers of NCD patients. The PCS sum score was correlated with each item using Pearson product-moment. The internal consistency of the Indonesian version of the PCS (I-PCS) was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. Results: The Item-CVI (I-CVI) and Scale-level CVI (S-CVI) of the I-PCS were 1.00. It showed the high content validity of the I-PCS. The I-PCS  revealed a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.933 for the total score. The Pearson-r was more than 0.320 indicated that the item valid. Conclusion: The I-PCS is appeared to be valid and reliable for measuring the caregiver preparedness of NCD patients in Indonesia.

Introduction: Workload can be defined as the hypothetical construct that represents the cost incurred by a human operator to achieve a particular level of performance. Several methods have been used to assess the workload. One of the most common methods of assessing mental workload is NASA-TLX method. The present study was conducted to develop and validate of a pilot activity load index (PALI) based on NASA-TLX template. Materials and Methods: This study was a cross-sectional and descriptive-analytical that was carried out among airline pilots of Civil Aviation Organization. At first, “Pilot Activity Load Index” or PALI subscales were developed based on NASA-TLX template. Validity of the subscales was evaluated by Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI).Using Lawshe’s table. Finally, to determine the internal consistency of the subscales, 30 pilots completed the final version of the PALI in typical flight phases. The data obtained were then analyzed by SPSS using Cronbach's alpha to measure the reliability of the subscales and considering an acceptance level of 0.7. Results: The first results led to the emergence of an initial list with 17 subscales. Eleven subscales were irrelevant, redundant and impractical to use in operational environment, due to CVR less than 0.75 and were omitted from the subscales list. Finally, six PALI subscales were approved related to pilot tasks (CVI=0.79). The Verified subscales had a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.89 and were therefore considered a reliable tool. Conclusion:  The results of this study showed that PALI questionnaire which validity and reliability has been approved can be used for assessment of workload in pilots.
