The study is devoted to the development of activities for the development of research activities of students in the learning process in universities. The authors analysed the essence of students' research activities, identified the main tasks of students' research activities and formed a hypothesis that the development of students' research activities in the process of studying at a university will be useful and will be reflected in the dynamics of their creative self-development if it is carried out within the framework of the research development program as a joint activity of a teacher and a student. The authors proposed a model for the development of research activities of students in the learning process, and empirically tested its effect, which confirmed the hypothesis. However, during the experimental phase, some limiting factors were identified.

The development of a person's creative self-realization is one of the main guidelines for the modernization of the modern Russian education system. However, an analysis of the content of curricula, programs, the state of the modern practice of teaching students of colleges of culture and arts enrolled in specialties related to musical art, indicates a lack of attention of teachers to the problem of creative self-realization of students. Mastering by students of musical and compositional activity can contribute to their successful mastery of the means of musical expression, finding their own methods of creative self-realization. The author of the article concludes that the process of development of creative self-realization among students of colleges of culture and arts in musical-compositional activity is a gradual transition from self-knowledge and self-assessment by students of their capabilities in the implementation of this activity, through the formation of their skills and abilities of musical improvisation, composing music, developing motivation for self-development, developing creativity, for self-assertion of students and self-assessment of the results of musical and compositional activity. The article presents a methodology for the development of creative self-realization of students of colleges of culture and arts in musical and compositional activities, including: forms of education - small-group, individual and practical classes; forms of extracurricular activities - a music room, a music lecture hall, a creative workshop; teaching methods - observation of music, research, brainstorming, author's introspection, associative, portfolio; techniques - explanations of one's own actions, feedback, reflection; methods and techniques of creative work - combination, transformation, sketch work.

In the informational society while teaching foreign languages the development of students’ skills aimed at searching, analyzing, critical thinking, processing and using the obtained information in the productive speech activity is in demand. In this context, the problem of students’ cognitive self-study development, aimed at “revealing” knowledge while reading, is becoming increasingly important as reading while teaching foreign languages not only contributes to self-development and self-reflection, but also to the formation of a cross-cultural and linguistic personality, which is a priority of linguistic education. The solution of the above-mentioned problems has defined the aim of our research: it is the development and implementation of technologies for optimizing students’ self-study in teaching reading. In the course of our experimental work the implementation of the principle of multi-level approach in the form of five interrelated elements in teaching reading – from the level of mastering reading techniques to the level of critical reading and stylistic comprehension reading – contributed to the ultimate development and improvement of students’ constructive-creative self-study. During the experimental work while testing the effectiveness of our methods of cognitive-practical activities, we concluded that in the process of teaching foreign languages, these methods are an effective way of teaching reading, activating students’ self-study, forming linguistic creativity, which manifests itself in the ability to produce oral and written discourses based on the creative potential development of a linguistic personality. The results obtained in the experiment can be used in educational process while creating and implementing the algorithm of organizing students’ self-study while teaching foreign languages.

Introduction. The article analyzes the problem of professional self-awareness, and the influence of this phenomenon on the process of personal and professional self-development of students. A theoretical study of this problem has shown that professional self-awareness is one of the most important prerequisites for the self-development and self-improvement of university students. Materials and Methods. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the characteristics of self-awareness and self-development of students of the Mordovian State University. A set of methods was used: questionnaire “Ability for self-development” I. V. Zvereva, methodology “Readiness for self-knowledge and self-development” T. A. Ratanova, N. F. Shlyakhta, test “Determination of the level of development of reflexivity” by A. V. Karpov, “Questionnaire of self-attitude” by V. V. Stolin, S. R. Pantileev, methods of researching self-assessment by S. A. Budassi, test “Assessment of self-control in communication” by M. Snyder, questionnaire “The style of self-regulation of students’ behavior” by V. I. Morosanova. Results. Statistically significant correlations between the reflexive, affective and regulatory components of students’ self-awareness and the level of their personal and professional self-development were revealed. It has been found that a high level of development of students’ reflective qualities is associated with their desire for self-knowledge. The connection between self-regulation and readiness for self-knowledge and self-development determines the ability of students to carry out systematic and purposeful work on themselves. It is shown that students with high and above average levels of self-development are aware of the changes taking place in the structure of their personality in the process of vocational training. These students are characterized by higher indicators of reflexivity, self-attitude and self-esteem compared to students with low and below average levels of self-development. Discussion and Conclusion. The results obtained confirm the assumption that personal and professional self-development is conditioned by the students’ ability to reflect and realize their personal and professional qualities.
