China has paid considerable attention to space exploration and made great strides in the field. The first Chinese Mars Exploration Mission will be carried out in 2020. Digital simulation has been proved to be an effective and efficient means for planning and deduction in many fields. Thus, it was introduced for the Mars exploration in this paper and key technologies was researched above three aspects. First of all, complicated time-space benchmark was combed to support the interplanetary simulation. Secondly, the multi-resolution pyramid model and indexing strategy were adopted to preprocess the geographical environment data, which ensured the efficiency of data loading, browsing, and querying. Then, the activity objects were abstracted and modelled based on four aspects, including property, ephemeris, geometry, and behavior. Therefore, a digital simulation system, called Sino-Mars, was developed. The architecture of Sino- Mars consists of five layers, including data collection, data processing, scenario modelling, visualization and application layer. Using the Chinese Mars Exploration Mission slated for 2020 as an example, we demonstrated the capabilities of Sino-Mars for data integration, visualization, process deduction, and auxiliary analysis.

The implementation of increased space exploration missions reduces the distance between human beings and outer space. Although it is impossible for everyone to enter the remote outer space, virtual environments could provide computer-based digital spaces that we can observe, participate in, and experience. In this study, Sino-InSpace, a digital simulation platform, was developed to support the construction of virtual space environments. The input data are divided into two types, the environment element and the entity object, that are then supported by the unified time-space datum. The platform adopted the pyramid model and octree index to preprocess the geographic and space environment data, which ensured the efficiency of data loading and browsing. To describe objects perfectly, they were abstracted and modeled based on four aspects including attributes, ephemeris, geometry, and behavior. Then, the platform performed the organization of a visual scenario based on logical modeling and data modeling; in addition, it ensured smooth and flexible visual scenario displays using efficient data and rendering engines. Multilevel modes (application directly, visualization development, and scientific analysis) were designed to support multilevel applications for users from different grades and fields. Each mode provided representative case studies, which also demonstrated the capabilities of the platform for data integration, visualization, process deduction, and auxiliary analysis. Finally, a user study with human participants was conducted from multiple views (usability, user acceptance, presence, and software design). The results indicate that Sino-InSpace performs well in simulation for virtual space environments, while a virtual reality setup is beneficial for promoting the experience.

A key process in the oil industry to make decisions is data collection. To improve productivity it is important data and information analysis. For many organizations is not profitable data automation, which has an impact in the way organizations, collect data. Data collection is taken by manual processes that create uncertainty for analysis because it is not reliable. As consequence, making a decision has not the planned results. After working for many years in the oil industry was identified: 1. People collecting data in a manual process normally by using a piece of paper which could be lost or damage. 2. After taking data at the well, data are brought to the office. Then, data are downloaded by another worker in computer software. It can be modified intentionally or not. 3. Accuracy of data collection activity is carried out. How do we know if the staff really went to work area? 4. Training to new staff, lack of experience? 5. There are “risks zones” due vandalism, facilities are damaged by people who stole devices which causes great money losses to companies. All these mentioned factors affect decision making which has a big impact in the production process. This application helps the whole process from collection data until data are registered in databases. This application considered several observations, suggestions and comments from people involve in the oil industry, especially at the production area. As a result, it is a tool that support data collection, standardize information in databases, improve data quality (it doesn’t matter localization), shows time and photographic position in a mobile device. Information is generated digitally taking advantage of easy handling. To summarize advantages of the whole system: • Reduce time of the data re-collection process • Improve data quality • Reduce amount of people working on data registration • Data reliability • Support decisions making • Minimize the use of paper in order to help ambient environment • Improve vehicle logistics • Minimize use of gasoline which helps to reduce costs • Help to optimize routes for vehicles on the field • Productivity, Maintenance, etc., reports can be generated • Vandalism is not a problem

Kata Kunci: Kecerdasan Budaya, Pencegahan, Resolusi, Konflik   The Sumbawa community is known as a heterogeneous society, inhabited by people of various ethnic, ethnic, linguistic and religious backgrounds with consequences for different customs and systems of life. This condition is one of the main capital that if misused will be able to negatively impact the emergence of sentiments and communal conflicts that can damage the system of social life. The process of mediation, arbitration and negotiation is one of the approaches used in resolving conflicts over the years. While there are many other methods or approaches that are considered quite effective and sometimes forgotten in the approach of prevention and conflict resolution is through the approach of Cultural Intelligence. So this research, trying to raise the urgency issue of the cultural intelligence in preventing and resolving the conflict. The problems raised in this study are: 1). What factors can cause conflict in society ?, 2). Who actor that acts as a structural, accelerator and trigger or trigger in the conflict ?, 3). What approaches have been used in preventing and resolving the conflict in society by the government ?, 4). Why is cultural intelligence so important in preventing and resolving the conflict? Abstract The geometry and behavior of the polygonal eye of Typhoon Sinlaku (T0216) are presented both objectively and quantitatively based on the ground-based radar data by using two types of spectral analyses (i.e., Fourier analysis and time–space cross-spectral analysis). The analyses reveal that the azimuthal wavenumber-2 perturbation is dominant even when the apparent shape of the eye seems pentagonal. Then the wavenumber-5 perturbation dominates second in most of the analytical period although it becomes most dominant during the typhoon’s passage over Okinawa Island, Japan. The counterclockwise phase shift is seen not only in these perturbations but also in, at least, the wavenumber-4, -5, and -6 perturbations. Except for the wavenumber-2 perturbation, the angular velocities are around 130° h−1 and almost coincide with each other. The radial wind profile estimated from the surface observational data suggests the existence of a ring-shaped high-vorticity region enclosing the core of the typhoon. This implies that the formation of the pentagonal eye can be attributed to wave breaking caused by barotropic instability of the circular flow constituting this typhoon. Such a possibility is also discussed by performing the linear stability analysis based on the nondivergent barotropic vorticity equation.

An orbiter and a descent module will be delivered to Mars in the Chinese first Mars exploration mission. The descent module is composed of a landing platform and a rover. The module will be released into the atmosphere by the orbiter and make a controlled landing on Martian surface. After landing, the rover will egress from the platform to start its science mission. The rover payloads mainly include the subsurface radar, terrain camera, multispectral camera, magnetometer, anemometer to achieve the scientific investigation of the terrain, soil characteristics, material composition, magnetic field, atmosphere, etc. The landing process is divided into three phases (entry phase, parachute descent phase and powered descent phase), which are full of risks. There exit lots of indefinite parameters and design constrain to affect the selection of the landing sites and phase switch (mortaring the parachute, separating the heat shield and cutting off the parachute). A number of new technologies (disk-gap-band parachute, guidance and navigation, etc.) need to be developed. Mars and Earth have gravity and atmosphere conditions that are significantly different from one another. Meaningful environmental conditions cannot be recreated terrestrially on earth. A full-scale flight validation on earth is difficult. Therefore the end-to-end simulation and some critical subsystem test must be considered instead. The challenges above and the corresponding design solutions are introduced in this paper, which can provide reference for the Mars exploration mission.
