While governments and international organizations continue their fight against the 2019 Corona virus disease, it is important to not overlook those in prisons and detention centres around the world, currently deprived of their liberty and rights, as they are likely to be more vulnerable to this outbreak than the general population. Given the nature of confinement, prisoners live in close proximity with each other for prolonged periods of time which often acts as a source for amplifying and spreading infectious diseases. With this in mind, the aim of this article is to present an overview of the impact of Corona virus pandemic on world prisons and the subsequent global responses to combat this unprecedented crisis. The article concludes with implications for mental health of prisoners and deliberates on decarceration as a way forward.

The emergence of a new virus in the global world at the end of 2019, namely Corona Virus Disease 2019, brought tremendous excitement to all inhabitants of the earth. The emergence of this virus brings tremendous concern and fear to the world because the spread of this virus is quite fast, even the most frightening is that the risk of death of people exposed to this virus is very large. Indonesia itself, cannot avoid the impact of this Covid-19 case. As a form of efforts to prevent and minimize transmission of the virus, the Indonesian government has issued a social distancing / physical distancing recommendation. This situation also causes the interaction between communities to be very limited. This situation seems to be able to eliminate hospitality among the community. This paper aims to emphasize the importance of maintaining the value of Christian hospitality in society amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The pandemic spread by the novel corona virus identied in Wuhan China in the year 2019 has massive hit on every aspect of individual life. Like many other countries India had imposed nationwide complete lockdown on March 2020. Since India was facing Lockdown for the rst time in its history and the stringent measures taken to implement lockdown had effects on all aspect of society including physical as well as mental health of general population. The present study was conducted using online method to know the impact on mental health during COVID 19 pandemic. The prevalence of the anxiety disorder as per GAD 7 was 33.4% among the study participants and 19-30 yrs of age group of participants and females are more affected. People have tried different method to cope with the stress during this period.

Since its outbreak in late December 2019, COVID-19 has brought a state of fear, panic, insecurity and a high level of uncertainty to the whole population of the world. Amid these uncertainties, governments and international organizations across the world, have adopted various measures against its spread; such measures have depended on the nature and severity of the disease and the suitable approach adopted by each particular country. This study assessed the preparedness of the local community in the fight against COVID-19 in Dodoma Urban, Tanzania. Data were collected through a questionnaire from 100 respondents who were coincidentally selected.  We analyzed data through descriptive statics and Binary Logistic Regression. The overall results show that the majority of respondents (53.68%) were well prepared to curb COVID-19. Nevertheless about 46% of the respondents were inadequately prepared. In order to curb the spread of the disease in Dodoma urban, the study recommend that the local community should consistently adhere to government directives, keep informed of the situation, and respond appropriately to protect themselves, their families, and others against the deadly corona virus disease.

Background: The novel coronavirus disease outbreak of 2019 was declared as a public health emergency by the World Health Organization. At present, the virus has spread throughout the world, leading to millions of cases and is further increasing. Objective: The main objective of this study is to review the impact of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the mental health of frontline workers, isolated and quarantined people and the general population. Methods: The relevant articles were extracted from PubMed, Web of Science and ScienceDirect database by using the keywords “Mental health”, “COVID-19”, “Impact of COVID-19”, “Frontline workers”, “Quarantine”, “Isolation”, “Immunity” and “Economy”. The retrieved articles were included in the study based on inclusion criteria to perform the review. All the selected scientific articles were critically reviewed and the information is summarized in this narrative review. Results: The majority of the studies stated that frontline health workers were at an increased risk of depression. The infected, suspects and quarantined people were reported with high stress, posttraumatic stress disorder, and suicidal thoughts. The pandemic has devastated the world’s economy, which has severely impacted global mental health. Conclusion: Mental health should be taken into account, and necessary interventional initiatives need to be considered both by the health authorities and the government to minimize the adversity of the consequences. The pandemic may disappear with the discovery of new vaccines or medications, but its negative impact on mental health may persist, particularly among vulnerable populations. Thus, mental health must be a matter of concern in the present scenario.

The study emphasis on the impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on educational sector in Kerala. The world has been experiencing a rare disaster of Covid-19 pandemic (corona virus disease) since 2019. Covid -19 pandemic has spread all over the world. Everybody are confused and so tensed and also excited about the pandemic because it is a rare disease and the medicine for the same is not yet innovated. Even scientists are not able to predict the future spread of the disease, so the only thing what the countries can do is to stop spreading the virus in the country. For that most of the countries in the world have been implementing quarantines, lockdowns and social distancing practices to contain the pandemic. Covid -19 pandemic has impacted every sector in the economy such as education, tourism, business, health, finance etc. In this context an attempt is made to examine the impact of covid-19 on Kerala’s economy. Here we examine the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on educational sector in Kerala and through this study the researcher tries to explain the positive as well as negative impacts of Covid -19 pandemic on educational sector in Kerala with special reference to Thrissur district.

Human civilization probably is passing through the most critical juncture of this millennium. Its existence is being challenged by the emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2) pandemic. The impact of COVID-19 on mental health of the masses has emerged as a matter of enormous concern. The purpose of the study was to assess the anxiety and obsessive thoughts associated with COVID-19 pandemic among general population. The study was conducted among 720 Indians living in different parts of the world. Data was collected by online survey with coronavirus anxiety scale (CAS) and Obsession with COVID-19 Scale (OCS). It was found that out of the 720 participants 86 (12%) felt extreme social isolation due to COVID 19 pandemic. Nearly one third of the participants (28%) reported moderate level of anxiety and majority of the respondents (62%) experienced disturbing thoughts about contracting COVID-19.

The corona virus outbreak labeled as Pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020, is a new public health crises threatening the world with the emergence. It is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It is believed that the virus originated in bats and was transmitted to humans in Wuhan, Hubei province, China in December 2019. There have been around 15, 33,541 reported cases of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-2019) and around 90,000 reported deaths as on 09/04/2020. The only methods to prevent the disease are quarantining and social distancing. While the disease may be prevented by quarantining and social distancing but it will result in the stoppage of various activities and thereby impacting the economy as whole. The study covers the impact of Corona Virus on Health care Sector, Pharmaceutical sector, Aviation sector, Railways, Ecommerce sector, Poultry sector, Automobile sector, Tourism sector, Hospitality, Real Estate, Sports Activities Consumer electronics, FMCG sector, Shipping industry, TV and Film Industry, Education sector, Stock Market and Banking Sector. Having considered the implications of the pandemic, the study also recommends the socio-economic and political measures to combat the situation that would help us revive in the post Covid-19 World.

Countries in the world face a big challenge in handling the coronavirus outbreak, which is officially identified by WHO as Corona Virus Disease-19 or abbreviated as Covid-19. This pandemic, which started in the city of Wuhan, China, has caused a global shock because, in the last few decades, we have never experienced a viral outbreak with such a rapid and massive rate and transmission rate like this coronavirus, far above its cousins ​​SARS and MERS viruses as well as Ebola, which had been tormented a few years ago, but was quickly resolved. Educational action on the impact of Covid-19 is very much needed to provide understanding to the people of Panjehang Village where the education contains what Covid-19 is, its effects and dangers, and how to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to continue the distribution of food packages.
