PT. ABC is a company engaged in the manufacture of Dolomite Fertilizer. The number of requests is greater than the amount of production. Due to fluctuations in the number of requests that tend to increase, this occurs due to a lack of capacity at the workstation. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the capacity requirements planning analysis for each work station to know the company's capacity needs. The research aims to identify the shortage/excess production capacity and provide proposals for the balance of production capacity at PT. A B C. Production capacity research was conducted using the Capacity Requirement Planning (CRP) method. Results and Discussion, comparison of available capacity and required capacity (load) are as follows, work station jaw crusher available capacity 36.74 hours/week while required capacity (load) 36 hours/week, work station bucket elevator available capacity 36, 74 hours/week while the required capacity (load) is 14.4 hours/week, work station ball mill available capacity is 36.74 hours/week while the required capacity (load) is 45.6 hours/week, and work station silo flour the available capacity is 36.74 hours/week while the required capacity (load) is 51.59 hours/week. In conclusion, two stations experience excess capacity, namely the jaw crusher work station with an excess capacity of 0.74 hours/week and the bucket elevator work station with an excess capacity of 22.34 hours/week. The other two work stations experienced a lack of capacity, namely the ball mill work station with a capacity shortage of 22.34 hours/week and the silo flour work station with a capacity shortage of 14.85 hours/week. Efforts to balance capacity by scheduling overtime and adding equipment (machinery) to work centers that lack capacity, so that the company's production targets are achieved.

PT MTG is a company engaged in the gears and mechanical part component. In the current condition, PT MTG has an effort to improve the company's work efficiency through with an efficiency target of 80%. However, the current problem is that the company does not yet have the right method for evaluating and detecting factors that inhibit increased productivity on the "TMM 1" and "TMM 2" production lines. To find out the right method for PT MTG, two productivity measurement methods are used in total with the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and partially with the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method. In measuring productivity with the OEE method, it can be seen six big losses that occur in each machine on each production line. Whereas in the OMAX method, measurement of productivity is used 4 criteria to determine the company's productivity index, namely (1) Minimization of Defective Products; (2) Optimizing Production Capacity; (3) Efficient Use of Labor; (4) Minimize Absence of Work. Based on the results of data processing and analysis, the average overall OEE value for the "TMM 1" and "TMM 2" production lines is 0.32% and 0.321%. The OEE value still does not meet the JIPM standard of 85%. Whereas in the OMAX results, the average productivity index value of the two production lines is 140.80 per month from the optimal value of 1000. The factor influencing the two methods for not achieving the target is the amount of production per month that differs more than 55% of the production plan. Whereas in OEE, excess production is not considered a loss. So, for the current conditions the right method of measuring productivity for PT MTG is the OMAX Method.

AbstractChanging a traditional company into a lean one is a very complex and time-consuming process that needs to be addressed in an appropriate way, otherwise the project of introduction of leanness into a company may fail on the one hand and even have a negative impact on business operations of the company on the other. When introducing a change, a step-by-step procedure leading to a progress may be of great help. The paper outlines a general procedure of leanness, an important part of which is a lean agent. A portfolio analysis is also used as a measure of leanness or as an indicator of the desired direction. The applied working methods were mainly active workshops and interviews with employees. The procedure has been tested on an example of a Slovene company; first, the existing situation is outlined, then the leanness steps taken according to the procedure and the final result after the first transition of the procedure.

Today, terrestrial robots are used in a multitude of fields and for performing multiple missions. This paper introduces the novel development of a family of crawling terrestrial robots capable of changing very quickly depending on the missions they have to perform. The principle of novelty is the use of a load-bearing platform consisting of two independent propulsion systems. The operational platform, which handles the actual mission, is attached (plug and play) between the two crawler propulsion systems. The source of inspiration is the fact that there are a multitude of intervention robots in emergency situations, each independent of the other. In addition to these costs, there are also problems with the specialization of a very large number of staff. The present study focused on the realization of a simplified, modular model of the kinematics and dynamics of the crawler robot, so that it can be easily integrated, by adding or removing the calculation modules, into the software used. The designed model was integrated on a company controller, which allowed us to compare the results obtained by simulation with those obtained experimentally. We appreciate that the analyzed Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot solution represents a premise for the development of a family of EOD robots that use the same carrier platform and to which a multitude of operational platforms should be attached, depending on the missions to be performed.

Abstract Conservation reserve program (CRP) participants in Alabama were surveyed to determine the probable utilization of CRP acres should the contracts expire without opportunity for renewal. From over 9000 contracts established between 1986 and 1995, 594 contracts were randomly selected and surveyed for the study. Two hundred and fourteen surveys were completed and returned. Of these, 204 (34%) were usable. Results indicate that 90% of CRP tree acres would be retained in trees while nearly 60% of CRP grass acres would be converted to row crop production. In addition, there are no significant differences in the response between the minority and white participants with regard to the intended use of CRP acres. Therefore, for sustained mitigation of soil loss and reduction of excess production capacity, tree planting as a conservation practice choice should be advocated and encouraged. South. J. Appl. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of cryotherapy and microwave diathermy application on the strength production capacity of the elbow flexor muscles. Thirty male, healthy and sedentary subjects, with average age of 22.40 (±3.42) years, participated in this prospective study. Participants were submitted to assessment of isometric strength production capability by an adapted load cell. Half of volunteers received cryotherapy on the first day of application and microwave diathermy (MD) 48 hours later, whereas the other half was treated the other way around. Cryotherapy was applied up to the temperature of the biceps region reached 25ºC, and MD was applied up to 42ºC. Six peak strength reevaluations were made over 2 hours. There was significant increase in peak strength (PS) up to 15 minutes after cryotherapy, then there was a decrease in maximum isometric strength, however, statistically significant difference remained up to 1 hour and 30 minutes after cryotherapy. In MD, PS decreased significantly after application until 15 min. From this moment, PS returned close to the initial value, and in the last assessment, PS reduced again. Cryotherapy and MD differently interfered in isometric muscle strength production capacity of elbow flexors, while cooling generated increment, heating caused decline.

The present paper addresses the issue of determining the best international practices for developing soft skills among students of different specialties through carrying out a theoretical review. Basing on literature on present-day theory the authors make an attempt to explain soft skills dichotomies, summarize existing approaches to classifying soft skills, consolidate and document best international practices for soft skills development among potential employees of different specialties including bachelor students, master students, doctoral and postdoctoral students. The data obtained in the theoretical analysis reveal that the possible ambiguities in the interpretation of the concept of “soft skills” are caused, on the one hand, by the dichotomic perception of their nature by present-day researchers and educators and, on the other hand, by the absence of the common language which makes it difficult to provide a more unified definition most satisfactory to all concerned. The authors are convinced that soft skills have a cross-cutting nature and regard them as personal and interpersonal meta-qualities and meta-abilities that are vital to any potential employee who is going to make positive contributions not only to his/her professional development but to the development of a company he/she is going to work for. The results of the conducted theoretical review clearly indicate that the absence of the unified understanding of the concept of “soft skills” is reflected in the existence of different approaches to classifying soft skills, let alone, the selection of didactic tools for developing soft skills among potential employees.

PT Pudak Scientific is a company engaged in the manufacture of aircraft parts industry. Meeting the precise and timely demand of aerospace parts from customers becomes a major corporate responsibility. However, Loss Revenue often occurs due to engine breakdown. So that cause because the production target is not achieved, the product reject, and the delay of delivery. One of the machines that often experience breakdown is Mori seiki NH4000 DCG. Mori seiki NH4000 DCG is the finishing machine for Blank fork End product. The demand for this part is quite large, making it a tough task for the Mori Seiki NH4000 DCG machine. But because the breakdown of the machine is high enough to cause production targets every month are often not met. In addition, Maintenance activities that have not noticed the characteristics of engine damage, as well as the distribution of historical data of the machine causing less effective and efficient actions resulted in substantial Maintenance costs. Based on the results of risk analysis of Mori Seiki NH4000 DCG engine damage, in terms of performance loss system caused by a large enough that is 3.773% of machine production capacity per year. This figure exceeds the risk acceptance criteria by the company that is 2%. Therefore it is necessary to find the appropriate Maintenance policy for the Mori Seiki NH4000 DCG machine. The approach is to use Reliability Centeres Maintenance and Risk Based Maintenance. Based on the above two approaches obtained the appropriate interval time so that the Maintenance activities more effective and can improve the efficiency of treatment by reducing the cost of care previously Rp167.506.286, - per year, to Rp 96.147.061, - per year. With the policy is expected to reduce engine breakdown and performance loss caused. So the number of risks that arise for the future are within the criteria of acceptance set by the company.

This contribution examines the provisions of the constitutive documents of companies under two specific provisions, namely s 65(2) of the Companies Act 61 of 1973 and s 15(6) of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.  The aim is to determine who is bound by these provisions, the circumstances which give rise to being bound by them, and the possible effect thereof on various parties. The provisions of the constitutive documents under section 65(2) of the 1973 Companies Act are interpreted by courts and academic writers to amount to a statutory contract between a company and its members and between members inter se. The members are said to be bound by the provisions of these documents only in their capacity as members. It is submitted, however, that the rights and obligations are granted to members in their capacity as such if they are membership rights which are granted by virtue on one’s membership. So far the courts have failed to provide a logical explanation of the concept “capacity of a member as such”. This failure and the “qua membership test” resulted in limitations in the interpretation of section 65(2): for example, the exclusion of persons who are regarded as outsiders. The directors, despite the fact that numerous provisions of the applicable article provides for their rights, have rights that are unenforceable via the articles, for being regarded as outsiders. The company on the other hand can enforce the obligations against the directors on the basis of breach of their fiduciary duties. These limitations called for a redraft of section 65(2).  This contribution raises the legal challenges raised by the above. It arrives inter alia at the conclusion that the “qua membership test” may find application under the 2008 Companies Act, since members/shareholders may be allowed to exercise rights that are membership rights granted to them by virtue of their membership, and directors may be allowed to exercise rights that are granted to them in their official capacities as such.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum spp) is one of important export commodity for Indonesia. With annual production capacity about 103.594 tons, Indonesia is one of main cinnamon’s exporter especially to United States. Recently the utilization of cinnamon is developed, where not only use as spices but also use in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The development of cinnamon’s use of course might lead to the market growth.. But on the other side arise an issue about coumarin content, where Cinnamomum burmannii issued to have higher content of this hepatotoxic compound than Cinnamomum verum or Cinnamomum zeylanicum. This research result showed that, although coumarin content of Indonesian Cinnamomum burmannii is higher than Cinnamomum zeylanicum but the difference is not too significant. C. burmannii collected from Gunung. Mas, West Java has coumarin content of 0.0030 % which is slightly higher than C. zeylanicum (0.0017 %). This research result also shown that antioxidant activity and α glucosidase inhibition activity is related to polyphenol and flavonoid content.

The Quito Stock Exchange (QSE) through its objective of offering security to investors, has reflected an act based on good corporate governance practices, however, 2% of amounts correspond to shares that are traded nationally, being Ecuador one of the Latin American countries with the lowest amounts traded compared to 8% of GDP. The objective of the investigation is framed in determining if the investment criteria of Warren Buffett have applicability in the negotiations of actions in the QSE, added to this the presumed existence of aversion to risk on the part of the investor, but also the ignorance of the movement of market and securities transactions, with a population that possibly lacks financial education and does not have benchmarks to invest in a seemingly unknown market. The fields of inquiry that have been defined have to do with the buffettology that involves the investment techniques and criteria that have made Buffett the most famous investor worldwide and, on the other hand, the equity certificates of or documents that represent a Part of ownership of the assets of a company that in the future allows you to enjoy the derived benefits. In conclusion, the criteria are partially applicable in an average 72.23% within companies that could be very close to being excellent, with economic, legal and operational barriers that hold back the development of the stock market in the city of Quito.
