Purpose As more women are now being appointed to senior and top management positions and invited to sit on boards of directors, they are now directly participating in strategic company decision-making. As female directors have been found to provide new ideas, increase company competitiveness, efficiency and performance and bring a greater number of external resources to a company than male directors, this paper aims to put female directors as a variable into the data envelopment analysis (DEA) and statistical models to explore the effect of female directors on operating performances. The DEA first quantified and measured the company efficiencies, after which the statistical model analyzed the correlations between the variables to specifically identify the impact of female decision makers on the operating efficiencies in state-owned and private enterprises. Design/methodology/approach A novel two-stage, meta-hybrid dynamic DEA was developed to explore Chinese cultural media company efficiencies under optimal input and output resource allocations, after which Tobit Regression was applied to determine the effect of female executives on these efficiencies. Findings From 2012 to 2016, the overall efficiencies in Chinese state-owned cultural media enterprises were better than in the private cultural media enterprises. The overall technology gaps (TGs) in the state-owned cultural media enterprises were better than in the private cultural media enterprises. Originality/value Previous research has tended to focus on the causal relationships between female senior executives and business performances; however, there have been few studies on the relationships between female executives and company performance from an efficiency perspective (optimal resource allocation). This paper, therefore, is the first to develop a novel two-stage, meta-hybrid dynamic DEA to examine Chinese cultural media enterprise efficiencies, and the first to apply Tobit Regression to assess the effect of female executives on those efficiencies.

The cultivation of multipotent mesenchymal stromal bone marrow cells and cells of A-431, MDCK, Vero, 3T3 and Hep-G2 was performed on polymeric films (PVA) with different hydrophobic fatty acid residues. The cells of different types grew on these films with different intensity, but in the most cases comparable with the cultivation control on usual plastic. The examined films were nontoxic to cells and sufficiently adhesive. They did not changed pH of cultural media, were optically transparent under microscope and comfortable in the experimental work. These films can be used as a model for the artificial organ construction. The covalent binding of different fatty acids to PVA shows possibility of the adaptable changes of films properties (hydrophobity and adhesiveness), and therefore possibility of the creation of optimal conditions for different cell types attachement and growth.

Change is at the heart of the definition of fashion, as many theorists, designers and cultural analysts have shown. This article takes up this perspective to question the role of fashion design in the 21st century in the relation to cultural, media and technological changes. Adopting a field research approach, the paper analyses the interaction between fashion, designers and digital technologies that are emerging in Italy in order to re-grasp Made in Italy in a futuring perspective. The case studies were selected for their relevance to the digital in terms of design, production, and display. The paper analyses that the pandemic crisis is having on the Made in Italy, stimulating new ways of designing, understanding, producing, and consuming fashion.

This study was for searching for Cholera Bacteria serotype which causes epidemiology Cholera in the 2007 in a fast method which contains (Rapid Visual Test) (Crystal V.C.) which was used for the first time in Iraq to diagnosis of Cholera Bacteria & compared with the traditional bacteriology method. The Cholera disease is one of the most dangerous epidemiological diseases which lead to death with a percentage of (50 – 70) % in the severe cases for untreated patients . For this purpose, 100 samples of stool from the patients from a (13) hospitals in Baghdad Governorate in the period from August to the end of December. The Cholera was diagnosis in two methods, 1st method was the fast method using the nitrocellulose which is coated with anti-body of Cholera Bacteria .The results was compared with the 2nd method which depends on the cultural characteristics of the cultural media, also the bacteria was diagnosis using the biochemical inspects by the system of API 20E in addition to the using of antisera to specify serotype& sub-serotype ( Monovalent, Polyvalent(O1) . Also, the relation between the disease & the months in the year in which the disease appear was studied. The results show the ability to isolate & identifecate (78) isolate for the serotype (01) in the fast method ( Rapid Visual Test ) ( Crystal V-C ) , & after the bacteriology inspects on these (78) isolate the all isolates were belongs for Cholera Bacteria of the serotype (01) till the sub-serotype , all the (78) isolates were belongs to the sub-serotype (Inaba). The results show, the most infection was in September (36) , & October (22).

The Study amid to Reveal the Personality Types and their Relationship with Depression among teachers in local schools in Amman. The descriptive and analytical approach was used through a sample of (135) male and female teachers in public schools in Amman. The Eysenck personality scale and the Beck scale for depression were used. Depression and there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between personality types and depression among teachers due to gender. Statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) between personality styles and depression among teachers due to job experience. The study recommended the necessity of giving a prominent role to social, cultural, media and educational institutions that can carry out an educational aspect to reduce unacceptable behavior patterns.

In analysing an important Hindi film’s precise yet radical reconception of Othello’s famously overdetermined handkerchief in the form of a jewelled chain or ‘kamarband’, this essay focuses on media representation and gender across time and space. It demonstrates how material objects factor into the perception and definition of gendered bodies in Shakespeare’s playtexts and modern performance, using ‘comparative close analysis’ to understanding the symbolic, narrative, and political consequentiality of metamorphic things. In Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2006 Omkara’s, chains of corrupted authority, both political and domestic, have superseded the superstitious magic in the web of Othello; following the kamarband’s journey reveals complexities in each artwork’s conception of femaleness, a sustained opposition between the sexes’ moral culpability, and an alternative form of female community. Omkara reframes difference and foregrounds gendered embodiment in a culturally specific, insightful way that prompts reflection upon our critical methods and futures in cross-cultural media and gender studies.
