Dermatoglyphics can be described as the study of the patterns of ridges on the skin of the fingers, palms, toes, and soles. These patterns are of interest in anthropology, criminology, and medicine. The skin on the ventral sides of the hands and the plantar sides of the feet is exclusively designed and is corrugated with the ridges and configurations which are functionally useful. Subjects for the study consisted of 100 persons, 50 males and 50 females, all from Bowen University, Iwo, Osun state of Nigeria and they were all students. The age range was 15-24 years of age. The feature being studied includes the print pattern on their 10 digits and some other parameters to distinguish the sole print patterns of both sexes. The toe print pattern was collected by the use of hand lens, used in viewing the prints on the white paper. For measuring the dimensions of foot prints, the following points were noted; The maximum length: the distance between the greatest toe and the mid-rear heal point called the pterion. The maximum width: the distance between the medial and lateral metatarsal It was observed that in the male and female population 92% of the population was found to possess loop patterns on their toes, 4.2% possessed whorl patterns while 3.8% possessed arch patterns. Out of the 50 males, 90% has loop pattern, 3.6 % has whorl pattern, 6.4% possessed arch pattern in their right foot. 92.4% has loop patterns, 3.2 % has whorl patterns and 4.4% has arch pattern in their left foot. In total 91.2% of the population possessed loop pattern, 3.4 % possessed whorl pattern while 5.4 % has arch pattern. Considering that of the female population, out of the 50 subjects, 93.2% possesses loop, 4.4% has whorl pattern and 2.4% has arch pattern in their right foot while in the left foot, 92.4% has loop, 5.6% has whorl and 2% has arch patterns in their left foot. In total the female population has 92.8 % loop, 5% whorl and just 2.2 % arch patterns. This results has shown that the female has more whorl pattern (5%) compared to the female value of 3.4% of whorl pattern. Also male has higher percentage of arch pattern (5.4%) compared to the 2.2% value obtained in females. Sex determination by footprint ratio was carried out and the standard footprint ratio values of 0.371219 and 0.3737645 were obtained. 51% accuracy was obtained in sex determination using this method. All foot print ratio up to these values and below was predicted female while foot print ratio above these values were predicted male.

The use of serious games is usually common, but digital games are not used in the teaching of German. This study aims to find out the attitude of students of German to the possible use of serious games in the teaching of German at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and their impression of the game ‘secret of the sky disc’ introduced by the Goethe Institute for the learning of German as a foreign language. Two different sets of questionnaires were administered to the students of German of OAU. The resulting data were analysed, discussed and conclusions were drawn. The results show the readiness of students of German for the use of digital games in teaching German at the university. The study investigated the relationship between motivation for learning and motivation for reading among university students. A convenient sample of N=300 male and female students was drawn from Punjab University Lahore, Pakistan with age range of 18 to 23 years. Two questionnaires, Motivation for Reading and Motivated strategies for learning were administered on the sample. Results indicates that female students were significantly higher on both, motivation for learning and motivation for reading as compared to male students. Correlational analysis revealed a significant and positive relationship between motivation for learning and motivation for reading. Finally, linear regression analysis revealed that reading motivation is a significantly predictor of learning motivation.

This study aims at exploring and examining the causes of teacher's favoritism and its effects on the university students. Quantitative tools are applied to collect data for the study and to check its reliability. The results of the data reveal that the teachers favor the students on the basis of gender, race, area, similar political ideology and family/blood relation. The study also indicates that a teacher's favoritism in the class affects boldness, mutual trust and respects between students and teacher which results in the student's struggle for favoritism instead of studies and academic achievements. Moreover, the students may opt for leaving the institute in which favoritism exists. The study also shows that both male and female students have the same opinions regarding different factors and effects of favoritism. The study concludes that the students' flair, potential, abilities and academic achievements should be emphasized as essential criteria for testing and evaluating the students' academic performance. It will, further, compel the students to focus on their studies, rather than on gaining teacher's favor.

One of the basic purpose of this study is to determine gender differences and relationship of violence with that of empathy and aggression. The total sample of the study contained sixty-four (N=64) University students with the age range on 20-25 years. The sample included thirty-two (n=32) male and thirty-two (n=32) female students of University of Peshawar. The results revealed the significant difference on violence between male and female university students males scored significantly higher on violence scale as compared to females. A negligible negative correlation was found between violence and empathy. It was concluded from the finding of the present study that males are more violent than females but there is no significant relation between violence, empathy and aggression.

This paper explains about Teuku Umar University Students' perceptions of the smoking ban policy at public places in West Aceh Regency. The smoking ban policy is an effective way of controlling smoking and indirectly reduces the negative impact on the health of passive smokers due to smoking by releasing it in public places. This research uses quantitative research methods with survey methods. the population of Teku Umar University students who accept 50 people who have an age range between 18-25 years and are male and female. The results showed that most Teuku Umar Universities were of the view that the ban on smoking in public places had run well. Even so, there are still students who do not need this policy, this can be seen from the habits of students who smoke in places that include smoking areas

Purpose This study aims to examine whether the psychological capital of male and female university students explains the intention to undertake entrepreneurism. Following Ajzen’s theory of planned behaviour, the aim was to study whether perceived behavioural control and subjective norms influence entrepreneurial intention and if subjective norms moderate established relationships, in both genders. Design/methodology/approach Structural equation modelling and analysis of variance was applied to test the hypotheses amongst students at a Spanish university. Findings The results showed that gender differences in psychological capital, in perceived behavioural control and in subjective norms existed between the male and female population, which explain gender differences in entrepreneurial intention. Similarly, subjective norms acted as a moderator in the relationship between psychological capital, the perceived behavioural control and entrepreneurial intention, with the moderating impact being higher on the female population. Practical implications The results obtained in this paper indicate that developing perceived behavioural control and the psychological capital of university students in training programmes of male and female students helps to promote their entrepreneurial intention. Similarly, the results suggest that building a support network, for instance of family and groups of friends is key to fostering entrepreneurial intention, particularly for women. Originality/value Entrepreneurship is key to the successful employability of current and future generations in the labour market. This study examined key antecedents of student’s entrepreneurial intention and how these are gendered. For both men and women (investing in) psychological capital is important. Informal social support was shown to play a key role in women’s entrepreneurial intention.

Interest in offering Entrepreneurship Education (EE) to all kinds of university students is increasing. Therefore, universities are increasing the number of entrepreneurship courses intended for students from different fields of study and with different education levels. Through a single case study of the Contamination Lab of Turin (CLabTo), we suggest how EE may be taught to all kinds of university students. We have combined design methods with EE to create a practical-oriented entrepreneurship course which allows students to work in transdisciplinary teams through a learning-by-doing approach on real-life projects. Professors from different departments have been included to create a multidisciplinary environment. We have drawn on programme assessment data, including pre- and post-surveys. Overall, we have found a positive effect of the programme on the students’ entrepreneurial skills. However, when the data was broken down according to the students’ fields of study and education levels, mixed results emerged.
