PurposeCoffee in capsules consumers’ behaviour depends not only on the products’ attributes, but also the consequences perceived by them and the alignment with their values. This paper aims to investigate the impacts of the Attributes of coffees in capsules on the consequences perceived by consumers concerning their consumption and the effects of these Consequences on consumers’ Values.Design/methodology/approachThis study developed a scale for assessing the perception of consumers of coffee in capsules about Attributes, Consequences and Values (A-C-V) regarding its consumption. A link to this survey’s electronic questionnaire was posted on the social networks Facebook and Peabirus. This research sample is for convenience and accessibility and has 213 consumers of coffee in capsules. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was the statistical method used for data analysis.FindingsAttributes have two sub-dimensions (Own attributes and Functional attributes), while Consequences have three sub-dimensions (Handling Benefits, Rational Benefits, Convenience Benefits) and Values have just one dimension. Also, SEM has shown a statistically significant positive relationship between A-C-V perceived by consumers of coffee in capsules. These results confirm the hypotheses developed based on the Means-End Chain Theory (MEC).Originality/valueAs academic contributions, this paper develops a structural model that quantitatively demonstrates the impacts of Attributes perceived by consumers of coffee in capsules on the Consequences of consumption and its effects on their Values. The present survey is the first in the literature that uses structural models contemplating A-C-V. As managerial contributions, this survey provides relevant information to the decision-making of several stakeholders of the chain of coffee in capsules.

BACKGROUND Offenders with personality disorder can be challenging to engage and retain in treatment. The UK offender personality disorder (OPD) pathway aims to proactively and responsively identify and engage offenders with personality disorder. However, a sub-population of offenders on the pathway have been found to not be accepted into any OPD service and therefore fail to progress. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to identify and describe offenders on the OPD pathway who fail to progress as well as understand the causal drivers by which individuals fail to progress in the pathway. METHODS A sample of 50 offenders on the OPD pathway who had been refused from at least two OPD services (non-progression group) were compared to 100 offenders accepted into OPD services (control group). Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to model the causal factors involved in not being accepted into OPD services. RESULTS The path coefficients in the structural model showed that the most influential factor in non-progression was attitude towards treatment (β = 0.41, P <.001, f2 = 0.25) alongside those with psychopathology (β = 0.41, P <.001, f2 = 0.25); specifically, psychopathy, psychosis and co-occurring personality disorder. CONCLUSIONS The findings of the study provide a basis of how to work with this population in the future to increase the likelihood of acceptance into OPD services.

Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) have become an increasingly popular choice for the delivery of infrastructure facilities in the recent years. With the involvement of multiple numbers of stakeholders in a PPP project, stakeholder management (SM) plays a decisive role in project success. However, many issues in the recent PPP projects in Australia as well as around the world can be directly or indirectly related to the SM concerns of a project. The correct selection of SM strategies and a proper framework will help to solve most of the current SM related issues in PPP projects. In an attempt to understand these preemptive SM strategies and their links to SM management related issues in PPP projects, a hierarchical structural model was established. Subsequently, by employing the structural equation modelling technique, the model adapts a total of 34 SM strategies and 12 SM related issues. Based on the survey data collected across the industry experts who have exposure to a various number of PPP projects in Australia the results of the model confirmed that the stakeholder engagement is a key to minimize the SM related issues in the PPP projects. Further, interestingly stakeholder monitoring and SM related issues has a positive significant relationship suggesting that more the stakeholder monitoring might lead to more issues. Finally, the relationships between the main tasks of SM were confirmed via the model. With a clear understanding of the significance of these SM strategies in PPP projects the findings could potentially contribute to the PPP project success.

Based on the recent past studies (Ahmad & Omar, 2015; Ke & Deng, 2018; Ghani, Abdullah & Allah, 2018), there are an increasing attention from the researchers to examine the workplace spirituality in the organization. This research study seeked to study the influences of workplace spirituality (Allen & Meyer , 2000) on organizational commitments among university members in Malaysia. Data of 240 responses were collected and analyzed via partial least square structural equation modelling to examine both the measurement and structural model. It is significantly accentuated that workplace spirituality influences the three dimensions of organizational commitment. From this empirical findings, it strongly suggested that the university shold find ways to embded this workplace spirityality into university members’ performance in order to enhance the loyalty and employee engagement with the university (Alas & Mousa, 2016).

The purpose of the present study is to analyse the role of organisational learning as an antecedent to non-technical innovation comprising organisational and marketing innovation. Examining the effect of these dimensions of non-technical innovation on customer satisfaction is also an aim of the present study. The paper formulates research hypotheses based on a comprehensive literature review. These hypotheses are tested using structural equation modelling (SEM) based on data collected from 226 Greek small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The formulated conceptual model is strongly supported based on empirical evidence. The results confirm that organisational learning capability favours the development of organisational innovation and marketing innovation. Furthermore, the study shows that both dimensions of non-technical innovation promote the achievement of customer satisfaction.

The aim of the study reported on here was to build a structural model of the relationship between 21st-century learner skills, individual innovativeness and epistemological beliefs. Data of the study were collected with three different scales, namely, the 21st-Century Learner Skills Scale, the Epistemological Beliefs Scale, and the Individual Innovativeness Scale. The population of the study constituted 627 teacher candidates studying at Mersin University during the summer term of 2016 to 2017. After the data collection process, Structural Equation Modelling was applied through the LISREL program to determine what kind of model was established among the scales. According to the results, an increase of 1 unit in the Individual Innovativeness Scales leads to an increase of 0.51 units in the 21st-Century Learner Skills Scale, while an increase of 1 unit in the Epistemological Beliefs Scale results in an increase of 0.34 units in the 21st-Century Learner Skills Scale.

The used of teaching kit among teachers plays an important role in enhancing student performance, especially for the primary students. The study aimed at developing and evaluating students’ mathematics achievement model which consists of mathematical process skills, teaching kit and mathematics achievement latent variables of Year Three Primary School Students. Cluster random sampling was used to select 98 students from 15 schools in the North Kinta District in Perak, Malaysia. Mathematics teachers from each school were trained by researchers in the workshop in utilization of teaching kit. The Partial Least Squares approach in Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was utilized in developing and evaluating the model as the size of the sample was too small. The study indicates that there was significant relationship between mathematical process skills, teaching kit and mathematics achievement latent variables in the developed model. Apart of mathematical process skills, teaching kit also a significant contribution factor to students' mathematics achievement in the structural model. The study also showed that the mathematical process skills was attributed by teaching kit. In conclusion, this study had successfully developed and evaluated students’ achievement model based on mathematical process skills and the utilization of teaching kit. This study implied that apart from others factor, mathematical process skills and utilization of teaching kit are also contributing a different perspective to the process of students' learning and achievements.
