his research aims to: (1) find out whether is there the influence of problem based learning toward the student problem solving of mathematics ability at seventh grade of SMP N 1 Balong, (2) find out whether is there the influence of problem posing toward the student problem solving of mathematics ability at seventh grade of SMP N 1 Balong, and (3) find out whether the difference of problem solving ability between the students get problem based learning with the students get problem posing learning. The research design was pre-experimental with the population covering all seventh grade students of SMP N I Balong consisting of eight classes. Classes VII G and VII H were selected as the sample. The selection of sample class used purposive sampling technique. From eigth classes, Class VII G was treated problem based learning and class VII H was treated problem posing. Data collection technique was test ability to solve mathematical problems. Data analysis technique was used paired sample t-test and t sample independent test.The results on 0.05 significant level showed that the problem based learning has an influence to the students’ mathematics problem solving ability. Similarly, problem posing learning has an effect to the students’ problem solving ability of mathematics. When reviewed from the both of problem solving ability of mathematics model, problem based learning isn’t different with problem posing.

Background. Problem Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional model that thestudents involved in problem solving by scientific methods, so the students learnthe knowledge related to the issued also the problem solving skill as well.The purpose of the study was to determine the relation between interest inlearning the PBL with motivation in increasing the learning achievement on thefirst year students of the Nursing Academy Panti Kosala Surakata.Subjects of the study by correlation method was held on April-Mei 2013, thesubject were 140 first year student of the Nursing Academy Panti KosalaSurakarta.The results shows:1.There was any relation between interes in learning the PBLwith motivation in increasing the learning achievement on the first year studentsof the Nursing Academy panti Kosala Surakarta, analized by X2 count > X2 table(188,321 > 13,277) with a significant level 0,01 (1%). 2. The determinationcoefficient value is 0,796 indicate that interested in learning the PBL influence tothe motivation in increasing learning achievement as 79,6% and the rest as20,4% influenced by the other else variables non model.Keyword : Interested in learning and the motivation in increasing learning.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika SMP kelas VIII semester genap dengan model problem-based learning berorientasi pada prestasi belajar, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan sikap percaya diri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan model Plomp (penelitian awal, pengembangan, penilaian). Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta Katolik Maria Goretti Ende. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengkonversi data kuantitatif berupa skor hasil penilaian menjadi data kualitatif berupa nilai standar skala lima. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika kelas VIII semester genap berupa RPP dan LKS. Dari hasil validasi ahli, skor penilaian guru, penilaian siswa, observasi keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran, tes prestasi belajar, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan angket sikap percaya diri menunjukkan bahwa RPP dan LKS adalah valid, praktis, dan efektif.Kata Kunci: Perangkat pembelajaran, problem-based learning, prestasi belajar, pemecahan masalah, percaya diri Developing Mathematics Learning Kits Using the Problem-Based Learning Model for Grade VIII of JHS in the Even Semester AbstractThis study aimed to produce mathematics learning kits using the problem based learning model oriented to the learning achievement, problem solving skill, and self-confidence for Grade VIII students of the junior high school (JHS) in the even semester. This study was and development study used the development model by Plomp (preliminary study, development, evaluation). The research subjects were teachers and students of Grade VIII of Swasta Katolik Maria Goretti Ende. The analysis of the data was done by converting the quantitative data in the form scores as the results of the evaluation into qualitative data in the form of five-scale standard scores. This study produce mathematics learning kits in the form of lesson plans and student worksheets for Grade VIII students of the junior high school in the even semester. Of the results of expert validation, a teacher evaluation scores, a students evaluation scores, an observation for the implementation of learning activities, a learning achievement test, a problem solving skil test, and a self-confidence questionnaire show that lesson plans (RPP)  and student worksheets (LKS) is valid, practical, and effective. The purpose of the classroom action research is to improve the student problem solving ability of fourth grade elementary school Lambangan 2 with implementation Problem Based Learning. This research is a classroom action research with 19 students as a subject. This research lasted for 2 cycle, each cycle consist of 4 stages are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The independent variable in this research is Problem Based Learning assisted by square puzzle. While the dependent variable is problem solving ability. Data collection techniques used is observation, interview, test, and documentation. The data was analyzed quantitative. The result showed improvement  problem solving ability in cycle I and cycle II, that is with percentage of classical learning completeness equal 63,15% in cycle I to 84,21% in cycle II.

<p>Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities need to be possessed by each person in order to be able to solve various problems and make decisions correctly. One of many tools for developing critical thinking skills is learning mathematics. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether Problem Based Learning is able to increase students’ abilities in critical thinking, problem solving, and learning achievement. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) methods for three cycles, research was conducted on 24 grade 8 math students at the Pelangi Kasih School. The results of this study showed that Problem Based Learning is able to increase students’ critical thinking, problem solving, and learning achievement.</p><p><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: </strong>Keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan memecahan masalah adalah dua hal penting untuk siswa agar mampu membuat keputusan yang benar dan memecahkan berbagai masalah dalam hidupnya. Salah satu sarana untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan memecahkan masalah adalah melaui pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penggunaan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBM) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus, penelitian  dilakukan pada dua puluh empat siswa pada kelas matematika kelas VIII, Sekolah Pelangi Kasih jakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah pada  siswa .</p>

Background: PBL appears to answer many concerns regarding educational methods, encourages students to look for new solutions to relevant problems using available knowledge and resources. The process expands students' critical thinking and problem solving skills while enhancing their creative capabilities Objective: To develop a PBL modules for teaching of organic chemistry. Methods: This module was developed for implementation in the curriculum of Chemistry Departments in Colleges of Sciences and Education. This is an innovations to be developed for increasing the wide-ranging abilities of students. A series of strategies which are involved in PBL, concept mapping and online communications, are suggested and discussed in terms of encouraging student-centered learning.

Bahan ajar dikembangkan berdasarkan karakteristik siswa, sehingga kompetensi yang ditetapkan dapat dicapai. Secara umum kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih sangat rendah, siswa belum bisa memahami soal, sehingga terkendala dalam menentukan model penyelesaian soal matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan, keefektifan, dan respon siswa terhadap bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning berkemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek Penelitan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Meureubo kelas X Mia2 sebanyak 23 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar validasi, angket respon siswa, dan tes. Dari hasil uji coba, pada uji coba I dan II diperoleh bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan efektif ditinjau dari 70% siswa yang mengikuti tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah memperoleh nilai minimal 75 dan tercapainya ketuntasan belajar tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah  75% dan respon positif siswa terhadap bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dikembangkan. Teaching materials are developed based on the characteristics of students, so that the specified competencies can be achieved. In general, students' problem solving abilities are still very low, students have not been able to understand the problem, so it is constrained in determining the mathematical problem solving model. This study aims to describe the validity, effectiveness, and response of students to Problem Based Learning-based teaching materials that are problem-solving skills developed. This research is a development research using ADDIE models namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects in this study were 23 students of Meureubo High School 1 in class Mia2 as many as 23 students. The research instruments were validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and tests. From the results of the trials, in the first and second trials obtained teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning that were developed effectively in terms of 70% of students taking the test of problem solving skills obtained a minimum score of 75 and achievement of learning completeness 75% problem solving ability tests and positive responses for Problem Based Learning based teaching materials for problem solving abilities developed.
