It is very important to provide proper and appropriate education for the hearing impaired individuals. Today, it appears that using only traditional teaching methods is not sufficient for the education of hearing-impaired individuals. The use of modern technology makes training for hearing-impaired individuals more useful. Looking at the literature, it is seen that there are a limited number of studies on the comprehensive use of technologies used in the education of hearing impaired individuals. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the technologies used in the training of hearing impaired individuals. In this study, document analysis method was used as a qualitative research method. The findings of the study were presented as technologies that contribute to the development of academic and linguistic skills of hearing impaired individuals. Prospects for further research and application were given in the light of the findings.

Believing that providing EFL teachers with effective supervisory feedback during the post-observation conference is essential, researchers in the current study report on the views of Iranian EFL teachers and supervisors as to what constitutes effective supervisory feedback. Having conducted a qualitative content analysis of the data obtained from interviews with teachers and supervisors, researchers came up with a framework of the constituent elements of effective supervisory feedback, which includes 1) adopting a more creative approach 2) using above-the-utterance mitigation 3) gauging the teachers’ ZPD 4) being socioculturally sensitive 5) assessing the teachers’ beliefs and attitudes and 6) developing public relations. The results showed the teachers’ overall dissatisfaction with the present supervisory feedback. The paper concludes by suggestions to include supervisory training courses in the existing teacher development programs to better empower supervisors in their dealing with EFL supervisees throughout the country.

The aim of the study was to find out the most applicable reflective teaching methods for English language teachers in Georgia and Muslim countries.  The study tends to identify the general English language teaching tendencies and stresses the teaching discrepancies for Muslim countries. These peculiarities are analyzed to provide a clear-cut picture of reflective teaching practices, possible changes and desirable improvements, which would be different for Georgia and Muslim countries (Egypt, Turkey and Yemen). The data obtained from one survey showed that school administration supports teacher development, including via reflective teaching. Another survey, conducted in Egypt, Turkey and Yemen regarding the cultural and gender issues in designing reflective teaching practices, showed that the majority of teachers prefer to be involved in collaborative group work, rather than being observed by a peer due to Muslim cultural traditions concerning gender relations. Both genders avoid peer work, because there is a possibility to stay alone with the opposite gender for the discussions and this might cause some inconveniences. The interview conducted in Georgia showed that teachers do not like cooperative reflective activities. As Georgian teachers of English better liked journal writing and peer observation, the experiment conducted in Georgia dealt with them. It revealed the fact that the mixed model of reflective teaching (peer observation accompanied by journal writing) is more productive for Georgia more than just peer observation.

AbstractTeacher self-efficacy has been abundantly studied. However, it seems that the consequences of teachers’ self-efficacy have not been appropriately explored yet. The research objective was to investigate the consequences of teachers’ teaching self-efficacy. The researchers used a qualitative research method. They collected the data through semi-structured interviews with 20 EFL teachers who were selected through purposive sampling. The interviews were content analyzed thematically. Findings showed that self-efficacy has different consequences: pedagogical, learner-related, and psychological. Each consequence has several sub-categories. It is concluded that high self-efficacy affects teachers’ teaching practices, learners’ motivation, and achievement. It also affects teachers’ burn-out status, psychological being, as well as their job satisfaction. The findings can be theoretically and pedagogically important to EFL teachers, teacher-trainers, and administrators of educational settings.

This paper investigates the conceptions of research held by English as a foreign language teachers in Argentina. Quantitative data from 622 participants from an online questionnaire were followed by qualitative data from online interviews with 40 of those participants. Results show that the teachers conceptualised research through conventional notions closer to a quantitative paradigm. They felt research was not part of their job, and a lack of time was the main reason for not engaging in/with research. Teacher development, agency, empowerment, and autonomy could be sought by engaging teachers with forms of research which are meaningful to them, such as action research.

From the perspective of the transaction cost theory, this paper analyzes that the mandarin popularization in ethnic minority regions helps reduce the transaction cost, enhances trust, results in the "innovation and entrepreneurship" effect, and improves the action mechanism of the county-level innovation and entrepreneurship rate. Furthermore, based on the complete sample investigation results of rural residents within 0-3km in eight counties of Sino-Vietnam border, it constructs the quantitative model to conduct the empirical analysis of the significant positive role played by mandarin popularization in the county-level innovation and entrepreneurship in ethnic minority regions, which is that when the mandarin level is changed by 1%, the county-level innovation and entrepreneurship rate is changed by 0.397%.
