Rapid developments and change have culminated new applications of information technologies. This trend is reflected in the plethora of innovative studies. Literature indicates that small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) perceive human resources information systems (HRIS) as complicated and time consuming, resulting in resistance from both users and employees. The purpose of this article is to identify necessary acceptance conditions for a successful implementation of the HRIS software within SMEs in Turkey. SMEs compose 99% of all companies in Turkey. Fierce rivalry within sectors gives rise to increased technology use to gain a competitive advantage. This study contributes to an efficient implementation of widely used HRIS in SMEs and offers solutions for implementation failures, including user resistance and idle system problems. This study attempts to apply the technology acceptance model to 112 SMEs that implement HRIS exclusively with all the submodules. This research analyzes success factors for an effective HRIS implementation by testing the latest integrated model of expanded technology acceptance. It concludes that there is a positive and robust correlation between acceptance and use of technology variables and user satisfaction. The results of this study are useful not only for the managers but also for the manufacturers, technical support, online support, and aftersales services as they are advised to develop strategies for user satisfaction.

The exponential growth in the use of technology for learning and teaching in the higher education sector has imposed pressure on academics to embrace technology in their teaching. The present study sought to examine factors underlying technology acceptance in learning and teaching at a historically disadvantaged university in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Premised on the mixed methods approach and undergirded by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), both a pre-coded and an open-ended questionnaire were used to collect data. Data from the pre-coded questionnaire were analysed through the descriptive statistical approach. The qualitative data from the open-ended questionnaire were analysed through content analysis. The study found that most academic staff believe and see the value that ICTs bring in their teaching and learning practices. In addition, they are aware that technology use in education improves learning and teaching, and they are willing to embrace the use of technology to improve their practices. Based on the findings, we recommend intensification of lecturer training in the use of technology for teaching and learning to enable them to embrace it in their teaching practice. Furthermore, the institution needs to put in place support systems for academic staff to empower them to have continuous access to devices and internet connection for technology integration in teaching and learning. We recommend establishment of e-learning communities of practise in the university that will allow lecturers to assist each other as well as share best practices in the use of technology for teaching and learning.

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) have a considerable role in most developing countries because they are able to develop and improve the economy. Whereas e-commerce is also a vital subject in the field of research, where they offer significant benefits for these countries. However, the adoption of e-commerce in developing countries by SMEs is low due to several factors, including the lack of a suitable model for the adoption of e-commerce. Therefore, some of the most widely used models for the adoption of e-commerce in developing countries were highlighted, which were Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) established by Molla and Licker (2005), Technology Organisation Environment (TOE) Integration of TOE and TAM, Perceived eReadiness Model (PERM) and E-commerce Success Factors. The exploratory research was conducted in this study. Finally, some recommendations were reached that may give the researchers a better understanding of the adoption of e-commerce in developing countries which they have not yet started using e-commerce

Abstract This article aims at understanding how research on acceptance and resistance to e-learning in developing countries is undertaken. To do so, it performs a systematic literature review of articles from 2007 to 2019. As a result, 44 analyzed studies have shown the evolvement of e-learning acceptance literature in developing countries in the last decade, mainly grounded on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework, with minor use of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and critical success factors perspective. None of the reviewed studies used an explicit framework of resistance to adoption. Also, most of the applications of TAM and UTAUT did not explore the specificities of developing countries in the acceptance of e-learning. Furthermore, the review has found a concentration of studies focusing on students, Higher Education, and developing countries with the highest income levels.

A useful Information System is difficult to conceive and develop. Research on technology has revealed that end-user likes or dislikes may matter towards the success or failure of information system (IS). A highly complicated system in which developers have put lots of development efforts may fail if the end-user dislikes it after its initial installation. In software engineering literature it is claimed that system rejection is mostly caused by not meeting the non-functional requirements. In this paper, a study is being done on ‘turnitin®’ as technology and its acceptance to a group of students in order to find out confirmation of result as claimed by TAM while it is a post implementation research activity for technology acceptance.

The e-commerce industry has the potential to be one of the drivers of the domestic economy. One of the impacts of the advancement of e-commerce is the emergence of many online-based marketplaces or so-called e-marketplaces. However, a lot of these online marketplaces sell 90% imported products. In addition, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Indonesia has prompted the government to establish several policies that have significantly reduced MSME performance by up to 70-100%. This study aimed to provide an empirical analysis of the influence of factors based on the Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, namely e-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces. The sample consisted of MSMEs in East Java, especially those engaged in the food and beverage industry sector with ready-to-eat processed food products whose business activities use the Shopee e-marketplace application platform. This is an online shopping marketplace focused on mobile platforms. There were 150 respondents. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used. E-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces all had positive effects on each other. This showed that a system that offers convenience will improve behavior, habits, and performance for MSMEs in using e-marketplace activities. The theoretical and methodological implications and opportunities for further research are discussed. Keywords: MSMEs, e-marketplace, technology acceptance model
