The national defense eoucation act of 1958, briefly referred to as NDEA, authorized something over one billion dollars in Federal aid over a four-year period. “In the swinging sweep of its 10 titles it touches—and returns to touch again—every level of education, public and private, from the elementary school through the graduate school. Its billion dollars, though authorized for a dozen separate programs, have been authorized for a single purpose-that every young person, from the day he first enters school, should have an opportunity to develop his gifts to the fullest.”1 It is quite clear that Congress recognized how exceedingly important is superior instruction at the elementary level as well as in high school and college. The Act concerns itself with the finding and encouraging of talent, the improving of teaching, and with the furthering of knowledge itself. This Act includes the instructor of arithmetic.

Abstract. School is one of the potential sites for transmission of Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF). The level of education is thought to be a major knowledge determinant about the disease and its transmission, as well as attitudes and practices for controlling dengue fever. This study aims to describe dengue knowledge in a student at various levels of education to prevent dengue transmission.  Three hundred students participated in this study, as many as 98 students were male, while 202 students were female. The average elementary school student is 10.7 years old, junior high school students are 14 years old, and senior high school students are 16.5 years old. Based on the interview results it can be seen the percentage of students with favorable knowledge about DHF for elementary school level 49.5%; Junior High 38.89%; Senior High 37.50%, while knowledge of DHF vector control at the elementary level is 3.4%; Junior High 3.7% and Senior High 2.5%. The percentage of students taking vector control measures for the elementary level is 0.49%, Junior High 9.26%, and high school 5%. Age and sex do not show a relationship with knowledge and actions towards DHF. Knowledge about DHF and the eradication of DHF vectors and the eradication of DHF vectors in students at various levels of education in the Pangandaran area is still low. The socialization of 3M Plus must be carried out thoroughly and continuously in schools to increase the knowledge and participation of students in controlling DHF. Keywords: Knowledge, Dengue, School, Pangandaran   Abstrak. Sekolah merupakan salah satu  tempat potensial dalam penyebaran dan penularan penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD). Level pendidikan diduga merupakan penentu utama pengetahuan tentang penyakit dan penularannya, serta sikap dan praktik untuk pengendalian demam berdarah. Tujuan dari penelitian kami adalah untuk menggambarkan pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh siswa sekolah pada berbagai level pendidikan dalam kaitannya dengan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah penularan penyakit DBD. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 300 siswa yang diambil berdasarkan teknik perhitungan sampel dari populasi siswa pada masing-masing tingkatan pendidikan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner yang terstruktur.  Siswa yang diwawancara merupakan siswa yang ditunjuk oleh sekolah sebagai anggota Unit Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS). Dari 300 siswa yang ikut serta dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 98 siswa berjenis kelamin laki-laki, sedangkan 202 siswa berjenis kelamin perempuan.  Usia rata-rata siswa SD berkisar 10,7 tahun, siswa SLTP adalah 14 tahun sedangkan usia rata-rata anak SLTA adalah 16,5 tahun.  Berdasarkan hasil wawancara terlihat persentase siswa dengan pengetahuan baik tentang DBD untuk level SD 49,5%; SLTP 38,89%; SLTA 37,50% sedangkan pengetahuan tentang pengendalian vektor DBD pada level SD 3,4%; SLTP 3,7% dan SLTA 2,5%.  Persentase siswa yang melakukan tindakan pengendalian vektor untuk level SD 0,49%; SLTP 9,26%; dan SLTA 5%. Usia dan jenis kelamin tidak menunjukkan hubungan dengan pengetahuan dan tindakan terhadap DBD. Pengetahuan tentang DBD dan pemberantasan vektor DBD serta tindakan pemberantasan vektor DBD pada siswa di berbagai level pendidikan di wilayah Pangandaran masih rendah. Sosialisasi PSN 3M Plus perlu dilakukan di sekolah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan peran serta siswa dalam pengendalian DBD.  Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Demam Berdarah Dengue, Sekolah, Pangandaran

The aim of the study was to know cattle farmers ability and their characteristics to implement technology of compact organic fertilizer made from cattle manure. The program was conducted in farmers group namely Lembah Pamuli located in Wori sub district regency of North Minahasa. The objects of activity consisted of 15 of cattle farmers whereas the materials included cattle’s manure, ureum, probiotic EM4 and other materials that can supported the processing of   organic fertilizer production. The approach to the group was extension and training. The result of this program showed that 66.67% of the participant in extension and training was men and they were 43 years old in averages. Thirty percent of their level of education was elementary school, 40% in secondary school, 22% senior high school and 8% at level of diploma. According to pre and posttest toward members group of Lembah Pamuli in line with their capacity to produce organic fertilizer showed that averages score increase by 47.94% after they followed the extension and training to produce organic fertilizer. The breeder’ knowledge was significantly different (P<0.01) before and after learning of how to produce organic fertilizer from cattle manure.

<p><em>Almost all age groups have a difficult tendency in saving, especially in groups of children. Various ways that can be done in educating children in saving. Savings products for children from various Banks both public and private can be utilized in getting used to saving. Understanding the amount of savings that can be saved in a certain period of time should be known early on. It aims to prepare knowledge in children for discipline in saving and wise in the use of savings in the future. Through training in the form of the use of digital information in digging the goal of saving children is expected to be educated children about the discipline in saving, the amount of savings to be achieved and its use in realizing the wishes of children in the future. This research involves children from elementary school (</em><em>SD</em><em>) to high school (SMA) at the Orphanage. The results of this training explains that materials and implementations aimed at educating children in terms of savings that utilize digital information provide benefits and knowledge to participants. The ability factor of instructor/</em><em>speaker</em><em> is effective in giving the material to the participants. Device tools integrated with the Internet and the ability of participants to use digital information in terms of saving is still minimal and need to be familiarized.</em><em></em></p><p><strong><em>Keywords: </em></strong><em>Saving, Children, Digital Information, Training</em></p>

The purpose of this study is to analyze students' psychological dispositions about student learning anxiety and happiness on the level of education. Elementary school, Junior high school and Senior High School students in the city of Cirebon were the subjects in this study. Mixed methods research with a sequential transformative strategy model was chosen to answer the problem of this research. Through a stratified random sampling technique, two types of research data were obtained; quantitative and qualitative data. Both of these data were analyzed by two data analysis techniques. Quantitative data analysis used is chi-square and contingency correlation, while qualitative data analysis uses triangulation of data sources. The results showed that there were differences in the level of mathematics anxiety and learning happiness of students at each level of education. Senior High School students have a high level of math anxiety when compared to elementary and Junior high school students. While in terms of happiness learn, students the elementary school is happier learning when compared to the other two types of students. This condition is also strengthened by the existence of a significant relationship between mathematics anxiety and happiness learn student with the level of education

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana meningkatkan hasil belajar pendidikan kewarganegaran pada pembelajaran tingkat dasar melalui pembelajaran kooperatif model jigsaw. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Peserta Didik Kelas V Sekolah Dasar (SD) Negeri I Mayong Kidul Jepara Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang biasanya disebut dengan PTK. Pada penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dalam dua kali siklus tindakan. Pada penelitian ini peneliti adalah seorang pendidik dalam pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan. Pada setiap siklus pada penelitian tidakan kelas ini terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan, observasi serta refleksi. Selanjutnya subjek pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar (SD) Negeri I Mayong Kidul Jepara Tahun 2015/2016 dengan jumlah peserta didiknya adalah 20 orang. This study aims to determine how to improve learning outcomes of citizenship education course at the primary (elementary) level of education in Indonesia through cooperative learning using jigsaw models. The research was conducted involving the students of grade five of Elementary School (SD) I Mayong Kidul Jepara in the academic year of 2015/2016. This research is a classroom action research that is usually called in Indonesian context as penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). In this classroom action research, the study was conducted in two cycles of action. In this study, the researcher is a teacher-researcher in the implementation process of civic education course. In each cycle of this classroom action research, I conducted several activities such as planning, actuating (implementation) the civic education course, observation and reflection. The dynamics of several demographic indicators of Russia - child and teenage cohorts in 1970-2000, life expectancy in 1995-2000, migration flows among federal districts in the period between two censuses of 1989 and 2002 - are considered in the article. The author puts forward the hypothesis about the influence of these indicators on the level of education in narrow and broad senses - in educational institutions and the society as a whole. He estimates the perspectives of regional higher educational institutions under conditions of absence of plan distribution of graduates and the double cyclical fall in the number of high school graduates. The agenda for the development of a two-stage system of higher education corresponding with international integration processes is formulated.

This research analyzed the readability of reading texts taken from English textbooks for grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe of 2016/2017 entitled English in Focus published by Pusat Perbukuan Departemen Pendidikan Nasional. Being important a textbook as the most used in sources of a class, textbook should be readable and appropriate for the students especially for the reading texts inside it. The goal of this research was to find out how is the readability of those reading texts in the textbook.To describe and investigate the readability, this research used a readability formula measurement called SMOG Grading Formula which is found by G. Harry Mc. Laughlin. The source of the data were 20 reading texts taken randomly from English in Focus textbook.The major findings of the study showed that the readability of 20 reading texts were in the variety level for students within 5th elementary school to the 10th grade high school students level, and it found that 13 of 20 reading texts or about 65% of the data are appropriate for the 8th grade students who are the user of the book. Meanwhile, this research also found reading texts which are not appropriate for the students. There are 3 reading texts are too easy and 4 are too difficult for them. So, 35% reading texts in the data is not appropriate for 8th grade students.

This study was motivated by the low score of the students‘ Indonesian language in national examination that were certainly correlated with the Indonesian language teachers‘ competences. The Indonesian language techers‘ competences can be observed in doing the Indonesian language proficiency test. This study was aimed to determine the Indonesian language teachers‘ capabilities indoing UKBI and to describe about it. The data obtained describe that the Indonesian language teachers of Senior High School (SMA) have the highest scores, then the Indonesian language teachers of Junior High School (SMP), and the last ones were the teachers of elementary school (SD). Moreover, among the Indonesian language techers‘ capabilities of SMA, SMP, and SD in doing UKBI have not shown the significant differences.AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya nilai Ujian Nasional (UN) bahasa Indonesia siswa yang tentunya berkorelasi dengan kompetensi guru bahasa Indonesianya. Kompetensi guru bahasa Indonesia dapat terlihat dari Uji Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia (UKBI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru bahasa dan sastra Indonesia di Pekanbaru dalam menyelesaikan soal UKBI dan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan guru dalam menyelesaikan soal UKBI. Dari penganalisisan data diperoleh temuan bahwa nilai rerata UKBI guru SMA memperoleh skor paling tinggi, nilai rerata UKBI guru SMP memperoleh skor sedang, sedangkan nilai rerata UKBI guru SD memperoleh skor paling rendah. Akan tetapi, kemampuan guru bahasa dan sastra Indonesia dari ketiga tingkatan sekolah tersebut (SMA, SMP, SD) dalam menyelesaikan soal UKBI tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang berarti (tidak signifikan) pada taraf kepercayaan 5 %, hal ini terlihat dari nilai Fhitung lebih kecil dari Ftabel (Fhitung = 0,11 < Ftabel = 4,35)
