The article describes the technological possibility and gives a conditional scheme of obtaining, based on the carbohydrate part of neutral lignosulfonate, useful products such as furfurol, furan, tetrahydrofuran, properties which have a number of significant physicochemical differences from the properties of lignosulfonate obtained as a result of sulphite brews. The article discusses features of aromatic and carbohydrate constituents of neutral lignosulfonates, monomeric units of aromatic part, structure of polysaccharide components of carbohydrate part, as well as lignocarboxylic matrix characterizing their combination in macromolecule of lignosulfonate. On this basis, the possibility of using neutral LSTs as pentose-containing raw materials was studied and experimentally realized. The experimental part of the article proposes a method of fractionation of lignosulfonates, in our case lignosulfonates of the neutral-sulfite method of delignification of wood raw materials. Samples of the neutral lignosulfonate that was the subject of the study were subjected to alkaline hydrolysis, after which fractionation was carried out by exclusive chromatography or gel filtration on Sephadex grade 100. Water was used as eluent. Fractions were taken by volume, the composition of fractions, both aromatic and carbohydrate, was determined by UV spectroscopy. The criterion for the composition of the fraction was the presence or absence of peaks on the spectrogram in the wavelength region characteristic of the hydroxyl phenolic groups of the aromatic part of neutral lignosulfonates and monosaccharides of the pentose class. The combined polysaccharide fractions represented mainly by xylanes (pentosans) were extracted into an organic solvent, followed by distillation and boiling of the furan-containing compounds. Material balance of the process of producing furan derivatives based on pentose-containing component of neutral lignosulfonates is drawn up.

ABSTRACT Continuing investigation of pineal gland function indicates that the anti-gonadotrophic activity of this organ cannot be attributed solely to the postulated hormone melatonin, the concentration of which is negligible in the pineal body compared to quantities required to produce unequivocal physiological effects. A non-melatonin antigonadotrophic substance recently isolated from bovine pineal glands was further purified by organic solvent extraction, ultrafiltration and gel filtration. Studies of partial blockage of compensatory ovarian hypertrophy in unilaterally ovariectomized Charles River CD-1 mice indicated that this substance is significantly more potent than melatonin in this test system.

Grinding or crushing hard raw materials is usually a primary operation which precedes the follow-up technological processes in a number of industrial sectors. A great variety of machines using different principles of fragmentation are employed in the technology of pulverization. The food industry uses roller mills, in which the main process is the shear grinding. In the animal feed industry impact machines known as hammer mills are often used. In recent years, mills have been employed that use their frontal edges for grinding or crushing during the rotation of one of two adjacent discs. The modern design disc machines used for grinding grain have resulted from long development and their operation has a relatively low noise level with reduced dust. The separation process that occurs in the gap between the active edges of the discs can be described as shear grinding and is currently the subject of attention which is focused on the specific energy consumption and fractional composition of the product of grinding.

Because of low calcination temperature, magnesia binders are attributed as low-CO2 emission materials that can benefit the environment by reducing the energy consumption of building sector. Portland cement in different areas of construction can be replaced by magnesia binder which do not require autoclave treatment for hardening, it has low thermal conductivity and high strength properties. Magnesium-based materials are characterized by decorativeness and ecological compatibility. The experimental part of this research is based on the preparation of magnesia binders by adding raw materials and calcinated products and caustic magnesia. The aim of this study was to obtain low-CO2 emission and eco-friendly material using local dolomite waste materials, comparing physical, mechanical, thermal properties of magnesium binders.

Deficiency of most micronutrients, imbalance in nutrition, together with a dangerous environmental situation in Ukraine, has led to a decrease in the immunity of the population and the spread of alimentary-dependent diseases. Due to the damaged immunological picture of the population in recent years, the relevance of the creation of immunomodulating products is significantly increasing. About 70% of dishes served in restaurant are released with sauces, which allows not only to improve the aroma, appearance and taste of the finished dish, but also to increase the content of the essential substances of the dish. In the assortment of sauce products on the Ukrainian market, most of the sauces contain preservatives, artificial stabilizers and emulsifiers that negatively affect the human body and are not recommended for daily consumption. The subject of research is sauce products for preventive nutrition with increased nutritional value, without the presence of artificial food additives in the composition. The purpose of the study is to develop formulations of immunomodulating sauces using natural raw materials. Methods. The object of the study - developed immunomodulating sauces. In the finished product, the following parameters were determined: titratable acidity (DSTU 4957:2008), microbiological indicators (GOST 10444.15-94, GOST 54728-92, GOST 10444.2-94, GOST 30519-97). The results of the study. As a result of a literature search, the substances were determined, their bigger content in dies being important for improvement in the state of the immune system. These substances include, first of all, antioxidant vitamins (C, A and E), polyunsaturated fatty acids (especially omega-3), mineral elements and other minor substances. During developing the formulations of immunomodulating sauces, twelve requirements were formulated.. As a result of the raw materials selection, three formulations of immunomodulating sauces have been proposed. In their technology, there is a high-temperature heat treatment, which allows maximizing the preservation of useful thermolabile components. Scope of research results. Ready-made sauces are sold in restaurant establishments and consumed locally. Due to their simplicity of preparation, they can also be recommended for making at home. The developed immunomodulating sauces have a pleasant appearance and harmonious taste, which is confirming the data of sugar-acid indices.

TT Ari was detected by Strohmeier et al. (1957) and is classified as a novalike variable. It was hitherto unclear whether TT Ari is a special type of dwarf nova (Warner, 1976) or an old nova (Cowley et al., 1975). Our group obtained a total of four IUE spectra between 1979 and 1981 in the short and long wavelength region. The first spectrum was taken in July 1979, when the system had a visual brightness of 11.3 magnitudes. The following two IUE observations in November 1980 revealed TT Ari in the lowest optical state (V = 14m.3) observed so far. The fourth spectrum was obtained during the rise to maximum in January 1981, when the system had an apparent magnitude of V = 11m.8. From this behavior, Krautter et al. (1981) concluded that TT Ari is a dwarf nova with extremely extended standstills as they are typical for Z Cam stars.

This chapter discusses how there was a good deal of confusion about what strategy to follow in defending East Africa. The thinking of the few politicians interested in the subject, and within the regional governments, was flawed, with the dangers misunderstood or overlooked. Successive British governments showed no real sense of recognizing that this could be an important wartime hub for raw materials and training. These significant failings were compounded by the failure of senior military officers to make a compelling argument about Italian intentions and the potential challenge these presented. While the Chiefs of Staff in London were right to assume that Mussolini would focus on Egypt, due to the vital importance attached to controlling the Suez Canal, they were wrong to conclude that he would enter the war at the first opportunity.

The proposed method of synthesis of CQDs on the basis of nanoporous carbon obtained from plant raw materials. It is established that in the short-wave region a band is registered, which is due to the exciton mechanism of recombination, whereas in the long-wavelength region it is related to the state of defects. The kinetics of PL extinction is not strictly exponential, which most likely indicates the distributed nature of fading from individual emitters.
