Contemporary theatre and film production require actors with extraordinary physical abilities, harmonious physical appearance and good looking body, which is a cult propagated by Hollywood – the dream factory. Today, theatre and film repertoire require a cast with extraordinary body skills, quick reflexes and acrobatic flexibility. Whether it is done as a part of regular curricular or as extracurricular activities, there is no doubt that regular physical exercise has a very important role in training young students of dramatic arts for their top-quality achievements. In order to determine the students’ attitudes on the importance of physical exercise and their interest for certain sports, there has been a survey among 27 first, second and third-year students of the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Banja Luka, Acting course. In accordance with the requirements set by the modern theatre and film production, this survey confirmed a very positive attitude and interest of students towards physical exercise and sports activities. Therefore, there is need for creating a clear concept of physical training of students, as a long-term project, which will contribute to raising quality of life as well as work and artistic creativity with students at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, University of Banja Luka.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel coronavirus not previously recognized in humans until late 2019. On 31 December 2019, a cluster of cases of pneumonia of unspecified etiology was reported to the World Health Organization in China. The availability of adequate SARS-CoV-2 drugs is also limited, and the efficacy and safety of these drugs for COVID-2019 pneumonia patients need to be assessed by further clinical trials. For these reasons, there is a need for other strategies against COVID-19 that are capable of prevention and treatment. Physical exercise has proven to be an effective therapy for most chronic diseases and microbial infections with preventive/therapeutic benefits, considering that exercise involves primary immunological mediators and/or anti-inflammatory properties. This review aimed to provide an insight into how the implementation of a physical exercise program against COVID-19 may be a useful complementary tool for prevention, which can also enhance recovery, improve quality of life, and provide immune protection against SARS-CoV-2 virus infection in the long term. In summary, physical exercise training exerts immunomodulatory effects, controls the viral gateway, modulates inflammation, stimulates nitric oxide synthesis pathways, and establishes control over oxidative stress.

Objective: Analyze the scientific evidence on the effects that aquatic physical exercise has on people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Material and method: A systematic review was carried out following the checklist Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis Protocols, with the objective of locating the largest number of investigations that aimed to identify the effects of the practice of aquatic physical exercise in people with ERC. A search of the PubMed, PEDro, Scopus and Cochrane databases were carried out until March 2019, using the PEDro, CERT, MINORS and NIH scales to determine the methodological quality of the same. Results: Five investigations were located, two of them were randomized control trials, another two studies comparatives and one was uncontrolled. The mean score and the median obtained after applying PEDro scale were 4 and 4 respectively. All the interventions proposed aerobic exercise programs, being generally of short duration and highly supervised, without any adverse effects arising from their practice. In a large part of the studies, significant effects were observed in physical condition, physiological parameters and quality of life, to a lesser extent. The practice of exercise had no significant impact on either the activity of the disease or the perceived pain in patients. Conclusions: Practice of aquatic exercise is beneficial in people with ERC. More longitudinal studies are needed to assess the impact of aquatic exercises as well as its effect and quality of life in long term.

The data of extracurricular physical exercise of college students before, at the time of, and after being monitored were compared and analyzed by the Sports World Campus app (a running app), and it was concluded as follows: (1) compared with the data before being monitored, the average number of running times per week and the proportion of physical education population increased significantly during and after being monitored; (2) compared with the data at the time of being monitored, the average number of running times per week and the proportion of physical education population decreased significantly after being monitored; and (3) per academic year, the average number of running times per week and the time of running increased year by year in the three years of being monitored. To derive a long-term mechanism, it is necessary to (1) raise the attention of school authorities, strengthen the supervision in management, and formulate a reasonable reward and punishment system; (2) optimize the quality of running apps to improve students’ sense of running experience; (3) set a reasonable amount of tasks per semester to guide students to conduct extracurricular physical exercise scientifically; and (4) promote students’ overall development, establish a culture of extracurricular physical activities, and cultivate students’ lifelong sports awareness.

The organizational structure of long-term care (LTC) facilities often removes the rehab department from the interdisciplinary work culture, inhibiting the speech-language pathologist's (SLP's) communication with the facility administration and limiting the SLP's influence when implementing clinical programs. The SLP then is unable to change policy or monitor the actions of the care staff. When the SLP asks staff members to follow protocols not yet accepted by facility policy, staff may be unable to respond due to confusing or conflicting protocol. The SLP needs to involve members of the facility administration in the policy-making process in order to create successful clinical programs. The SLP must overcome communication barriers by understanding the needs of the administration to explain how staff compliance with clinical goals improves quality of care, regulatory compliance, and patient-family satisfaction, and has the potential to enhance revenue for the facility. By taking this approach, the SLP has a greater opportunity to increase safety, independence, and quality of life for patients who otherwise may not receive access to the appropriate services.
