The aim of this research is to determine teachers’ attitude levels towards assessment and evaluation who teach Turkish as a foreign language and to examine them in terms of various variables. Survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Teachers (n=233) who teach Turkish in various institutions participated in the research. “Personal Information Form” prepared by researchers and “Assessment and Evaluation Attitude Scale for Teachers” developed by Tezci (2019) were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that on average the Turkish teachers’ attitude scores towards assessment and evaluation is at a “high” level with 4.11. In addition, a significant difference was found between the Turkish teachers’ attitudes towards assessment and evaluation and the variables such as professional experience, receiving training for assessment and evaluation in language teaching, analising of prepared exams in terms of assessment and evaluation and evaluation and perceiving themselves as literate in assessment and evaluation. No significant difference was found between the attitudes of those who teach Turkish towards assessment in terms of the faculty they graduated from, the institutions where they were employed, regular exam preparation status, the hardest skill to assess, and the hardest skill to evaluate. Although attitudes of teachers towards assessment and evaluation are found at a “high” level in the research, taking into consideration the fact that there are many deficiencies in terms of assessment and evaluation in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and 46% of the teachers in this study consider themselves moderately literate in terms of assessment and evaluation, suggestions were made that it is necessary to work on what other factors affect teachers’ assessment and evaluation literacy

The purpose of this study is to investigate the sports participation motivation level of students with hearing impairment continuously participating in high-school for disabled individuals. The study is designed for the quantitative research model and conducted with descriptive, relational survey model. Survey method was adopted for data collection tool of this study. Personal information form and sports participation motivation in students with hearing impairment scales were applied. For data analysis, frequency analysis is conducted for demographic information. For two-variable data, the t-test is used and for multiple variables, Anova tests are used. Total of 82 students with hearing impairment among which 29 are female and 53 are male between 14-33 (±17.6) years old participated in this study. Sports participation motivation of students with hearing impairment sub-dimensions consist of internal motivation with the highest score (x=9.25), external motivation average (x=±3.83) and lack of motivation average (x=2.59). There is no significant difference between gender, class and sports participation motivation sub-dimensions. Lack of motivation sub-dimension of answers to “Does anyone in your family do sports?” question shows a significant difference. There is no meaningful difference for the other two sub-dimensions as internal and external sub-dimensions. As a result of this study, it is reasonable to express that sports participation reasons of students with hearing impairment are not affected from internal or external motivation, and students do not know the exact reason for participating in sports owing to lack of motivation sub-dimension.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the flexible decision pathways adopted by development advisors in the management of uncertainty in property development. Specifically, the study examines the quantitative techniques adopted by development advisors, the level of adoption of real options analysis (ROA) vis-à-vis the level of adoption of heuristics. Finally, the types of options exercised in property development were analysed. This was with a view to providing information that could mitigate the challenges of risk and uncertainty and increasing investment failure associated with property development in Nigeria, an emerging market. Design/methodology/approach The study adopted a survey method and was conducted on development advisors in property development companies/estate surveying and valuation firms in Nigeria. A total of 195 development advisors participated in the survey. The respondents were required to rate, on a five-point Likert scale, the level of adoption of the quantitative models, heuristics and the types of flexibility exercised during development. The data were analysed using mean rating, one-sample t-test and analysis of variance. Findings The results revealed that there was a preference for the use of traditional techniques, while probabilistic appraisal models and other contemporary methods such as ROA are seldom adopted by development advisors. While there was a significantly high level of adoption of heuristics, the stratified analysis examining the profile of the respondents and the level of adoption of ROA and heuristics suggests that years of experience influenced the level of adoption of both the ROA and heuristics by the development advisors. The analysis of the types of flexibility showed that staging/phasing and changing the initial use/design were the most prevalent flexibility pathways adopted during the development. However, the study found that there was no significant difference concerning the choice of flexibility being adopted by development advisors who used ROA and those who did not. Practical implications The study provides an understanding of the decision pathways adopted by development advisors in an emerging market like Nigeria. Originality/value The paper contributes to studies on decision-making pathways in the management of uncertainty under dynamic conditions by development advisors in emerging markets.

The purpose of the study was to examine secondary school students' attitudes towards social media and their loneliness levels in terms of gender and whether they do sports or not. The sample of the study consisted of 175 female and 269 male secondary school stıdents. To collect data personal information form, Social Media Attitude Scale (Otrar ve Argın, 2013) and UCLA Loneliness Scale (Russell, Peplau, & Cutrona, 1980) were used to in this study. Independent t test analysis was conducted to examine whether the participants' social media attitudes and loneliness levels differed with regard to gender and do sport. According to the results, there was no significant difference in social media attitudes (t = -.832, p > .05) with regard to gender. However, loneliness levels of the participants seems to be significantly different with regard to gender (t = -6.513, p = .000). When the participants were examined whether they do sports or not, there was not any significant difference in social media attitudes (t = -.427, p> .05). However, the levels of loneliness was significantly found to be different in terms of doing sports or not (t = -3.675, p = .000). Furthermore, there was not a significant relationship between social media attitudes and loneliness (p > .05). It can be concluded that sport and regular physical activity can be considered as a means to provide environments where individuals will feel far away from the feeling of loneliness and that they will feel themselves more valuable.
