This study examines the perception of public workers towards contributory pension scheme with specific reference to Lagos State, Nigeria. The descriptive research design was adopted, while the simple random sampling technique was employed to select 398 respondents as the sample size for the study. Data analysis was performed with the aid of mean and chi-square. The result reveals that perception of workers towards contributory pension scheme encourages workers to save towards future, is convenient for them in the event of changing jobs, their benefits at retirement will not be affected in the event their employer becomes insolvent, it empowers contributor to choose who administers his/her retirement benefits account and provides the opportunity of enjoying some modicum of pension on retirement. Furthermore, the result reveals that non-remittance of pension contribution into retirement saving account and non-compliance of the pension reform as amended by the government at all levels, are the major challenges facing the successful implementation of the scheme. The study concludes that the contributory pension scheme looks bleak for the sustainability in Nigeria. Therefore, government at all levels should do the needful to ensure the full implementation of the scheme.

Organisations’ customers are the greatest asset they have to remain sustained and to retain these customers, effective sales promotion is required to push company’s products and services to various customers at satisfaction with view of making profit. However, some organisations especially those in consumable goods pay little attention to customers’ satisfaction by not imbibing effective sales promotion leading to poor sales performance and customers’ turnover. This study examines the effect of sales promotion on customer retention of selected food and beverages companies in Lagos, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study comprised of customers of Foods and Beverages (FandB) Companies estimated at 4,209,483 from the selected five local governments in Lagos State, Nigeria. Sample size of 1019 was derived via Krejcie and Morgan method and through simple random sampling technique. Data were elucidated from the respondents via research instrument. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability co-efficient as well as the Kaiser-Meyer-Oklin (KMO) was established for both reliability and validity of the research instrument. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were adopted for analysis and the hypothesis was tested with simple linear regression. Result indicated that sales promotion had positive effect on customer retention of selected Foods and Beverages Companies in Lagos State Nigeria (R2=.367; t = 22.595; P<0.05). The study concludes that sales promotion has significant effect on customer retention and recommended that adequate promotional budget incentives should be considered by the F&B companies’ management to encourage effective sales promotion especially at special periods to boost sales and enhance customer retention. Quality food processing and safety measures should be enforced by the government through regulating agencies like National Foods and Drug Administration Council (NAFDAC), the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), and the Ministry of Health.

The information age holds a number of daunting challenges for modern organizations, and more specifically, modern marketers. These challenges have contributed towards a fast-changing and more complex environment for organizations. This study examines the effect of E-marketing on the performance of the selected business organizations in Oyo State, Nigeria. The purposive method was used to select five manufacturing companies operating in Oyo State while the simple random sampling technique was used to select fifty respondents for the study. Data collected through structured questionnaire was analysed with the aid of Mean and Regression Analysis. Results of the analysis show that e-marketing has a significant impact on organizational performance measured by effective decision making, customer satisfaction and sakes volume.  The study also confirms that unstable power supply, lack of government support, low level of education of the owners/managers of business organizations and Security of documents through e-commerce are major threats to the success of e-marking adoption. The study concludes that the survival of business organizations, especially in this globally competitive environment, pivots on e-marketing. Subsequently, the study recommends that the government should provide enabling environment for e-commerce to triumph in Nigeria.  Also, management of Nigerian business organizations should establish e-marketing unit, administratively and financially separate and independent from marketing department, and give it a prominent place in the organizational structure, to be able to perform its functions without associating with the marketing management or other administrations in the company.

Abstract  This study was aimed at investigating the practice of entrepreneurship education through extracurricular activities in higher education from students perspective. To achieve this objective descriptive survey research design was used. Data were collected from university students. Accordingly, four universities were selected as sample universities by using simple random sampling technique. From these sample universities departments that give entrepreneurship course with all its students were taken as sample of the study. Data were collected by using questionnaire and interview from the participants. The result shows that  students have participated in extracurricular  activities  and have a willingness to participate if they get an opportunity. However, students did not participated in business plan competition outside the university, company visit, competition events between students and external stakeholders, seminars and workshops. The major challenges identified are lack of  funding available to support the entrepreneurship education,  lack of support from the top management and the government  and  lack of teachers support and encouragement of students practice of entrepreneurship education through extracurricular activities.

The aim of the study was to find out the perception of teachers towards enhancing their professional and human developments through mentoring using Owerri Educational zone. The result of the study would be significant as it would provide a basis for incorporating the mentoring system into teachers' development programmes. Four research questions were formulated to guide the study. A simple random sampling technique with non-replacement balloting was used to sample hundred (900) teachers in the area of study. Data for the study were collected using a structured questionnaire relating to the topic and analysed with simple percentages The result of the analysis showed those primary school teachers were not aware of the benefits of enhancing their profession and personal development through mentoring. Teachers in the area of study had a negative perception towards enhancing their personal and professional development through mentoring by years of experience. The levels o f education, sex are not determining factors in the teacher's perception o f their professional development through mentoring. Based on the result some recommendations were made which include a review of the current development programmes of teachers to incorporate the mentoring system, and team teaching should be encouraged to facilitate networking and sharing of best practices among teachers among others.

Tax reporting is the responsibility of taxpayers after making tax payments. The mismatch between the number of registered taxpayers and the number of taxpayers who report taxes is a separate problem for the government in managing the tax results received. Where the number who report taxes is very small compared to the number of registered taxpayers. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence individual taxpayer reporting compliance. The population used by all individual taxpayers who are registered at KPP Pratama Batam Selatan. While the sample was taken through simple random sampling technique with the Slovin formula so that the sample used was 100 respondents. Data analysis techniques are data instrument test, classical assumptions, descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS. The results obtained, partially the application of e-filling and tax sanctions has a significant effect on tax reporting compliance while tax awareness and understanding have no significant effect. The f test results show that all the independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the dependent variable.

This study investigated the effect of self-efficacy on self-employment intentions of recent graduates. Using the descriptive survey research design, the study population includes National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of Ojo Local Government area of Lagos state. A sample of 130 was selected using the purposive sampling technique. The formulated hypotheses were tested using the simple linear regression and the independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a statistically significant influence of self-efficacy on self-employment intention of Corps members of Ojo local government, Lagos state. A significant regression coefficient was found F (1.128)=29.72, p<.05), with R2 of .19. This presupposes that19.0% of the variance in self-employment intentions is as a result of the self-efficacy of recent graduates. Also, a statistically significant difference in the self-employment intentions were found between male and female corps members (tcal(128) = 2.11 is greater than ttab=1.98, p < .05). The study therefore recommended, amongst others, that institutions and the government should educate and devise a means by which they can increase the level of graduates and students’ self-efficacy which in turn will help shape their intention towards shaping career options after graduation. Similarly, effective entrepreneurship education and training for students and graduates to enhance their efficacy in performing specific tasks and roles of an entrepreneur will go a long way in boosting their self-employment intention and also aids them towards post graduate job creation ability rather than job seekers

Non-timber forest products (NTFPs) are plants or plant parts that have perceived economic or consumption value sufficient to encourage their collection and removal from the forest. The main objective of this study is to identify the challenges and opportunity in equitable distribution of NTFPs among the usufructs. The study was conducted among the 446 usufructs of Dolpa, Salyan and Banke of Western Nepal. The study had adopted the simple random sampling technique to select the respondent from the study areas. Mixed method approach was applied for data collection. The findings show that there were some challenges due to inadequate knowledge and incomplete information on products, markets and prices on the part of collectors/producers. 54.9 percent of them said lack of the market system of providing price of NTFPs was the key challenges/barriers for the equitable distribution of usufructs followed by dominance of middleman/traders (52.2%), lack of accessibility of big market (45.3%), lack of awareness of price of NTFPs (12.4%) and lack of accessibility to MPIS (6.2%). Though, there were more opportunities to promote the NTFP. Demand of NTFPs mainly comes for three major use categories: 1. Pharmaceutical Industry & Research, 2. Health Care, and 3. Consumer Market. The Government of Nepal should provide the technical skills through training and orientation to usufructs about the proper cultivation and harvesting of NTFP and knowledge on use of MPIS which can directly contribute in the sustainable management of NTFP.

This study examined supervisory strategies as correlates of quality education among secondary schools in Ibadan southwest local government area of Oyo State. Simple random sampling technique was used to select thirty schools (public and private) and three hundred respondents consisting of 200 teachers from public schools, 80 teachers from private schools and 20 supervisors from Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the four hypotheses(P < 0.05)  Multiple Regression was used to determine the contribution of independent variables (Supervisory strategies) both jointly and individually to dependent variable (quality education).Results revealed that two of the supervisory strategies (companionable and synergistic) have positive and significant correlation  on quality education (r =0.853) and (r = 0.783) while authoritarian strategy had negative  correlation, laissez faire had no significant relationship on quality education (r = -0.522 and r = -0.200)respectively. The joint contribution of the four supervisory strategies to the prediction of quality  education in secondary schools was also significant (F (4,295) = 261.225).The paper concludes  with some recommendations to the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Government. This study aimed to investigate the attitude of the teacher’s towards inclusive education as the attitude of teachers or executors has a significant impact on the successful implementation of inclusive education. The population of the study comprised all pre-service and in-service teachers of the Gaya district of Bihar. Out of this population, a sample of 108 pre-service & in-service teachers (associated with primary and secondary school) were selected through quota sampling technique from 11 institutions (belonging to the government and private management system). We wish to discover teachers’ attitudes towards inclusive education among their different demographic variables i.e. Mode of service, Gender, Locality. An attitude of teachers towards Inclusive Education questionnaire, was used for data collection. Collected data were statistically analyzed by using Frequency counts, Mean, Standard Deviation (SD), Standard Error of Mean and ` t ` test. Among the total participants n= 108, 48.14% were pre-service teachers & 53.33% were in-service teachers, 50% teachers associated with the urban area & other 50% teachers living in rural areas, 48.14% were female & 53.33% were male. The result shows that attitude of teachers towards inclusive education was moderate to a favorable level. Pre-service and urban teachers had a more positive/favorable attitude towards inclusive education than the attitude of In-service and rural teachers, respectively. In contrast, there was no significant difference between the attitude of male and female teachers towards inclusive education.

The research aims at finding out factors that contributed to the decline in HIV and AIDS prevalence rate in the Volta Region of Ghana from 2006 to 2008. Three research questions were asked to guide the review of related literature on the above–mentioned research topic.Simple random sampling was used to select 10 hospitals in the region for the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 250 respondents, thus 25 from each of the hospitals sampled. Questionnaire was the main instrument for data collection which consisted of 30 close ended items. The study revealed that in the opinion of 82.7% of health and medical personnel who responded to the questionnaire indicated that behaviour change contributed highly to the decline of HIV and AIDS prevalence rate in the Volta Region. Also, 84.4% and of 99.6% of the respondents agreed that specific HIV and AIDS interventions and HIV and AIDS education respectively contributed highly to the reduction in HIV prevalence rate in the Volta Region. The recommendations made were that the government and non-governmental organizations must intensify their strategies that are geared towards the behavior change of their members. They must also carry out specific intervention strategies to curb HIV and AIDS menace.
