This study aimed to investigate the attitude of the teacher’s towards inclusive education as the attitude of teachers or executors has a significant impact on the successful implementation of inclusive education. The population of the study comprised all pre-service and in-service teachers of the Gaya district of Bihar. Out of this population, a sample of 108 pre-service & in-service teachers (associated with primary and secondary school) were selected through quota sampling technique from 11 institutions (belonging to the government and private management system). We wish to discover teachers’ attitudes towards inclusive education among their different demographic variables i.e. Mode of service, Gender, Locality. An attitude of teachers towards Inclusive Education questionnaire, was used for data collection. Collected data were statistically analyzed by using Frequency counts, Mean, Standard Deviation (SD), Standard Error of Mean and ` t ` test. Among the total participants n= 108, 48.14% were pre-service teachers & 53.33% were in-service teachers, 50% teachers associated with the urban area & other 50% teachers living in rural areas, 48.14% were female & 53.33% were male. The result shows that attitude of teachers towards inclusive education was moderate to a favorable level. Pre-service and urban teachers had a more positive/favorable attitude towards inclusive education than the attitude of In-service and rural teachers, respectively. In contrast, there was no significant difference between the attitude of male and female teachers towards inclusive education.

Abstract Since the Bandung Declaration of 2004, Indonesia has become concerned with the development of inclusive education. Even though teachers’ attitudes toward inclusive education are important for successful implementation, there have been few research studies on them in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to understand Indonesian teachers’ attitudes toward inclusive education. This study surveyed 243 Indonesian teachers using the Teacher Attitudes toward Inclusion Scale (TATIS) instrument. The findings showed that 79.4 % of Indonesian teachers held a moderate attitude toward inclusive education. In addition, the number of teachers who had a high (8.6 %) attitude toward inclusive education was less than those who held a low one (11.9 %). Moreover, there were no significant differences based on demographic data such as gender, age, province, school type, highest education, teaching experience in general education, and teaching experience in inclusive education. A significant difference was found only when the level of schools grouped the teachers: teachers who teach in secondary schools had more positive attitudes toward inclusive education than teachers who teach in primary schools. The positive attitude of teachers towards inclusive education can make them more capable of controlled learning environments. Meanwhile, to improve their attitude, a sustainable training program can be carried out. Sustainable training organized by the Ministry of Education to improve teacher pedagogical and professional competence must be in line with Education for Sustainable Development (EDS).

This study investigated the effect of self-efficacy on self-employment intentions of recent graduates. Using the descriptive survey research design, the study population includes National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of Ojo Local Government area of Lagos state. A sample of 130 was selected using the purposive sampling technique. The formulated hypotheses were tested using the simple linear regression and the independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a statistically significant influence of self-efficacy on self-employment intention of Corps members of Ojo local government, Lagos state. A significant regression coefficient was found F (1.128)=29.72, p<.05), with R2 of .19. This presupposes that19.0% of the variance in self-employment intentions is as a result of the self-efficacy of recent graduates. Also, a statistically significant difference in the self-employment intentions were found between male and female corps members (tcal(128) = 2.11 is greater than ttab=1.98, p < .05). The study therefore recommended, amongst others, that institutions and the government should educate and devise a means by which they can increase the level of graduates and students’ self-efficacy which in turn will help shape their intention towards shaping career options after graduation. Similarly, effective entrepreneurship education and training for students and graduates to enhance their efficacy in performing specific tasks and roles of an entrepreneur will go a long way in boosting their self-employment intention and also aids them towards post graduate job creation ability rather than job seekers

Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) as an indicator of maternal health during pregnancy, childbirth, and childbirth. Anemia contributes 20% to the incidence of maternal deaths caused by bleeding during labor. The government prevents anemia by giving iron tablets at least 90 tablets for pregnant women. However, the prevalence of anemia remains high, because of the low adherence in consuming Fe tablets every day. Self-efficacy adherence is a predictor of health behavior and adherence to treatment.Objective: To improve adherence with self-efficacy in consuming Fe tablets in pregnant women with health promotion and WhatsApp reminder in Yogyakarta City Health Center.Method: This study used a quasi-experiment method with a pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group design. The sample amounted to 59, the sampling technique used was consecutive sampling which was taken by random sampling technique in which samples were taken alternately to determine the intervention group and the control group.Results: There were significant differences in the self efficacy score between the intervention groups (Mean = 6.30, SD = 8.11) and the control group (Mean = 0.89, SD = 7.83) with t-test = 2.60 and ρ = 0.012.Conclusion: There is a significant difference in self-efficacy adherence with consuming Fe tablets in pregnant women before and after being given health promotion and WhatsApp reminder intervention and control groups. Health service agencies can consider the combined service between health promotion and WhatsApp reminder to improve self-efficacy in adhering to consuming Fe tablets in increasing Hb levels in anemic pregnant women.

Education is germane to liberating many people from high level of illiteracy and abject poverty. But lack of school enrollment among vulnerable children of such people living in the rural areas will further limit development, progress and the well-being they deserve. This study however was meant to assess the enrollment of rural farmers’ children into schools in Ido and Oluyole Local Government Areas, Ibadan, Oyo state. Purposive sampling technique was used for selection of the study area in the areas of Ibadan while random sampling was used to select 150 respondents from 10 communities in the 2 LGAs. Data collected were analyzed with both descriptive and inferential statistics. The result revealed that majority of the respondents (94.2%) were married, 63.3% were above 60 years, 50.8% of the respondents were Christian while 49.2% were Muslims. The result also revealed that the majority of the respondents had primary (45%) and no formal education (45%). The result also showed the enrolment levels of farmers’ children in schools that 49.2% of the respondents’ male children between the ranges of 2-4 are enrolled in schools with the highest percentage of enrolment about 59.2% of the respondents female children are enrolled in schools. More so, 43.3% of the total respondents’ children are enrolled in schools, implying low enrollment in schools due to their low standard of living and unemployment in the country as indicated by 61.7% of the respondents to be a challenge to school enrolment for their children. In conclusion, the government should come up with strategies of establishing program such as free education where rural farmers’ children can benefit from and also ensure access to loans to improve farm business of rural farmers, supplying them with input and improved varieties that will increase their yield with commensurate income to support the enrolment of their children in schools. This will encourage and support enrolment of their children in school and eventually improve their living standard in the society.

This study examines the extent to which the Nigerian journalists comply with ethical values in the course of their reportage. Two national dailies – The Nation and Daily Trust newspapers were selected for content analysis, using systematic random sampling technique to pick 26 editions per newspaper. A period of six months from 14 December 2014 to 14 June, 2015, covering the 4th phase of the state of emergency was chosen. Tables, figures, and sample percentage counts were employed in making the research data easily understandable. The findings revealed that though the newspapers appeared to be ethically compliant in their reportage, none of the two newspapers was neutral in its reportage of the state of emergency rule. Majority of their stories were considered unpleasant and capable of aggravating the crisis in the troubled states. The hypothesis were tested, one showed that there is a significant difference between the number of news stories and the number of ethical breaches in the selected newspapers; hypothesis two showed a significant difference between ethically breaching and ethically standard reports/content of the selected newspapers; hypothesis three showed a significant difference between the ethical breaching of Daily Trust and those of The Nation –X2 = 0.09; P<0.05, df1. The study therefore, recommends that journalists should always have a healthy regard for the public interest, desist from slavish adulation and join hands with the government in bringing about lasting peace to the troubled states and desist from publishing inflammatory stories.

The purpose of the study: This study aimed to investigate the teachers' attitudes to special needs students and also the contribution that will be useful in inclusive education. Methodology: This study used qualitative methods. The research subjects were five general teachers who teach students with special needs in inclusive education in Jambi, Indonesia. The sampling procedure was used for purposive sampling. The data were collected by a semi-structured interview with five teachers from different backgrounds of teaching. The recorded interview data were transcribed. The documents were then studied, labelled, and elucidated comprehensively. Main Findings: The result of the research revealed that teachers’ attitude to special need students is good. In addition, the contribution of the teachers’ attitudes is formed from this research, such as the transformation of the value of each student, the strategies of the teachers like seating arrangement, the using of the different curriculum, teaching aids and rapport. Applications of this study: To achieve education for all and education equality, the government in Indonesia increases the number of inclusive education. The findings of this research are expected to add new knowledge to the scope of inclusive education especially in EFL contexts. Theoretically, the results of this study are expected to provide some references and contributions for the study on special needs students in inclusive education. Novelty/Originality of this study: This issue becomes a new atmosphere for teachers, especially for EFL teachers in teaching the various students. It is essential to know teachers' attitudes to special needs students in the context of inclusive education because that aspect will be piloting to the contribution of the teaching and learning process.

The rising incidences of poverty among rural farming families are the reason behind renewed interest in income diversification. This study determined the level of income diversification; identified alternative income sources; examined the reasons for diversification; and identified the constraints to diversification. A three-stage random sampling technique was used in selecting 160 households on which a structured interview schedule was administered. Descriptive statistics, a Likert-type scale, and the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation were used for data analyses. Findings reveal that 1.3% of the households had no additional sources of income while 40.6% had at least four. Trading (55%) and livestock keeping (40.7%) were the most popular alternative income sources. The declining farm income (mean = 2.96) was the primary reason for diversification, while poor rural infrastructure (mean = 3.04) was the most severe constraint to income diversification. Farm size, access to extension services, household size, age and educational level of the household head were significantly related to the level of income diversification at p < 0.05. The study concluded that the level of income diversification was high and influenced by socioeconomic characteristics of the households. It recommends that the government should provide adequate infrastructural facilities in rural areas. Farmer associations should also ensure better prices for agricultural produce through joint marketing.

The concept of development in Indonesia is an effort to increase equitable distribution of development and its results through sectoral policies and community performance, especially in rural areas. To prosper the village community, the government issued a special budget for villages through the Village Fund Allocation (VFA) to increase community independence, including the Sumber Boga Village. The amount of VFA for Sumber Boga Village naturally should be followed by an increase in the welfare of the community. This study aims to analyze the effect of the management of VFA on the welfare of the community in Sumber Boga Village, Masni District, Manokwari Regency. The type of research used is qualitative and descriptive research using 88 heads of families as respondents obtained using purposive sampling technique. Regression analysis was carried out and the results show that either partially or simultaneously, all independent variables affect people's welfare.

Inclusive economic growth encompasses alleviating the people in the rural area from massive poverty and vulnerability. The study aims to determine the indication of ecotourism’s contribution to alleviating poverty in the rural economy as a basis in formulating a tourism development plan. It applied the descriptive research design, utilizing a researcher-made survey tool as a primary instrument of data gathering. The research sites were in Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary, Aguinid Falls, and Bojo River. Using a random sampling technique, 70 respondents were residents and earning income from the ecotourism activities. The gathered data were treated using simple percentage, weighted mean, Chi-square test of independence and ANOVA. The findings revealed that meager income for selling locally-made products, as tour guides, providing transportation services, and through fixed salaries per month. The ecotourism sites in Cebu, Philippines had a significant contribution towards alleviating poverty in terms of uplifting the standard of living, providing a means of subsistence, development of social well-being, and improvement of social overhead capital. There is a significant relationship between the respondents’ educational attainment and source of livelihood and their perceptions on the contribution of ecotourism in terms of uplifting the standards of living and improvement of social overhead capital. Lastly, there is a significant difference in the respondents’ viewpoint on the three well-known ecotourism sites in the aspect of the development of social well-being. The popular community-based ecotourism sites in Cebu holds great potential in making significant contributions to poverty alleviation since it supported the local people to escape from hunger that is prevalent in the rural areas in the developing countries.

This article describes the experience of the conference «Development of rural educational organizations in the context of the National project «Education». The conference was organized by: Yaroslavl state pedagogical university named after K. D. Ushinsky, State educational institution of the Yaroslavl region «Institute of education development», Research center of the Russian Academy of education on the basis of YSPU, Yaroslavl regional public organization «Leaders of rural schools». The content of reports by well-known scientists of the country is briefly outlined, which identified the current problems of education and training of rural schoolchildren, due to the characteristics of the modern generation of children, the specifics of educational conditions in rural areas, and the resources of rural society. The speakers offered modern pedagogical ideas and tools for the successful implementation of the national project «Education» in rural schools. A number of presentations are devoted to the problems of professional development of teachers, scientific and methodological support of teacher training for rural areas. A review of the presentations of scientists and teacher-practitioners in seven sections is made: «Rural school-space for modernizing the content of education»; «Modern educational technologies»; «Rural school – space for equal opportunities for every child»; «Rural school – space for partnership and cooperation»; «Rural school – space for modern digital technologies»; «Professional development of rural teachers»; «Rural school – territory of public initiatives». Interesting experience of educational organizations is presented at master classes held on the basis of schools and kindergartens. The results of the scientific and practical conference, which was held for the first time in remote mode, were analyzed, the advantages of holding the conference in this format, as well as problems and difficulties, mainly of a technical nature, were identified. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the conference is an effective form of interaction between teachers from different organizations and regions, a means of stimulating their professional development and innovation in rural educational organizations.
