Background: Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood within the arteries. Based on the circadian rhythm the BP can change. DBP can change according to age. Processed foods, canned soups, snack foods, and condiments may increase BP. The main aim of this study is to estimate the difference in postprandial BP responses during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Materials and Methods: A total of 26 healthy volunteers were randomly selected, men and women aged 17-20 for the study. Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure, Heart rate were measured with ambulatory Blood Pressure devices every 10 min before until 90 min after each meal. The measurements were taken to identify the difference in postprandial Blood pressure responses between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before starting the study, informed consent was taken. Data were collected and analyzed using SPSS software, independent sample T test. Results: In the present study, there was a mild increase observed before and after breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a difference in BP before and postprandial during breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the present study, there was a mild increase observed before and after breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the morning the body releases hormones such as adrenaline and noradrenaline. These hormones boost energy which raises the BP. So there is decrease in BP before and postprandial during breakfast Conclusion: From this study only a significant difference was observed in SBP, DBP, HR of dinner. There was no significant change seen in breakfast.

ABSTRACT Background:Hemodialysis defines as a process of cleaning the blood from waste substances through a filtering process outside the body. Patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis often experience complications including hypotension. Several references state an alternative intervention to prevent complications of hypotension in hemodialysis patients with an Intradialytic exercise. Intradialytic exercise is a planned and gradual form of exercise that includes various stages of flexibility exercise, strengthening exercise and cardiovascular exercise performed during hemodialysis. Intradialytic exercise is aimed to improve the work of the heart, respiration and improve hemodialysis regulation for the better. Objective:This study was aimed to determine the difference in blood pressure before and after intradialytic exercise in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods:This research design used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test with control design. The samples were 38 respondents who taken by total sampling at the Hemodialysis Unit of Panti Rahayu Hospital. The samples were divided into the intervention group who undertook intradialytic exercise for 4 weeks, each respondent experiences twice a week, while the control group who did routine hemodialysis and independent exercise. Results:The results showed that the distribution of the characteristics of the respondents was 51-54 years old (18.41%) the sex was mostly male (63.2%) Most of them (55.3%) underwent hemodialysis for less than 2 years. Statistically, it was known that there was no significant difference in blood pressure before and after intradialytic exercise inside patient’s body of the control and intervention groups. There was no significant difference in blood pressure between the intervention group compared to the control group, but there was a dynamic difference in blood pressure in patients who did intradialytic exercise. Conclusion:There was dynamics of differences in blood pressure in patients undergoing intradialytic exercise, it is recommended that hemodialysis nurses at Panti Rahayu Hospital take care patients during hemodialysis so that these interventions are routinely carried out.

Laughter can help to control blood pressure by reducing endocrine stress andcreating a relaxed condition to deal with relaxation.Objective: The general objective of the study was to determine the effect of laughter therapy ondecreasing elderly blood pressure in UPT Panti Wredha Budhi Dharma Yogyakarta.Methods: The design used in this study is a pre-experimental design study with one group pre-posttestresearch design where there is no control group (comparison). The population in this study wereelderly aged over> 60 years at 55 UPT Panti Wredha Budhi Dharma Yogyakarta. The method oftaking in this study uses total sampling. The sample in this study were 55 elderly. Data analysis wasused to determine the difference in blood pressure before and after laughing therapy with a ratio datascale that was using Pairs T-TestResult: There is an effect of laughing therapy on blood pressure in the elderly at UPT Panti WredhaBudhi Dharma Yogyakarta marked with a significant value of 0.000 (P <0.05)

Every child will go through several stages in his or her life. They are different from each other as they are in the process of development of cognition, physics, emotion, and personality. For many children, a visit to the dentist can raise their anxiety. This anxiousness will lead to stress that influences the cardiovascular function in the body. The purpose of this research was to determine the difference in pediatric blood pressure between middle childhood and late childhood prior to dental treatment. This research was a clinical trial, pure experimental study. The sample consisted of 30 children within the range of 4-12 years old where they were divided into two groups of age; middle childhood (4-7 years old) and late childhood (8-12 years old). The blood pressures were measured before any dental treatment began and the values were recorded. The data were then analyzed using the One-Sample T-Test analysis. The results of blood pressure in middle childhood and late childhood were compared to the average mean values for each age group. It showed that there was a significant difference in the systolic pressure, which was found higher in the middle childhood group compared to the late childhood. From the result can be concluded that there was a difference in the pediatric blood pressure between middle childhood and late childhood prior to dental treatment.

Adrenomedullin is a potent vasodilator with established cardio-protective potentials when the body is exposed to stress. Sympathetic autonomic stress can lead to systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) reactivity which is a predictor of stroke. This study was to determine the effect of Adrenomedullin on cardiovascular response to sympathetic autonomic stress using the Cold Pressor Test in normotensive (NT) and hypertensive (HT) adults. Cardiovascular response to the CPT was measured among 30 NT and 30 HT participants, via blood pressure and heart rate before and after exposure to the cold pressor test (CPT). Plasma Adrenomedullin (ADM) was also determined by means of ELISA. Data were expressed as mean±S.E.M and statistical significance was accepted at 95% confidence interval. Exposure to CPT led to significant increases in SBP and DBP in both NT and HT participants with greater effect in HT (p<0.0001). Plasma Adrenomedullin was significantly higher among the NT but the difference on effect of response to CPT in both groups of participants was not significant. There was a negative and insignificant correlation between the ADM level and change in SBP and DBP among the NT participants but a positive and insignificant correlation with both SBP and DBP among the HT participants. We conclude that plasma Adrenomedullin may prevent the development of hypertension in black individuals.

The purpose of this study was to determine the adequacy of fluids in the body during training for youth athletes of martial arts. The research method uses descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques were obtained from urine tests, interviews, and multiple choice questions on 10 athletes consisting of five male athletes and five female athletes of martial art with a maximum age criteria of 18 years. Data analysis techniques used mean, standard deviation, percentage, graph, normality, and different test Paired Sample T Test to find out the difference in the mean. Athletes' knowledge of hydration was in the moderate category and there was a significant difference (Sig. <0.05) in the average hydration before and after training by the Madiun Regency martial art athletes.

AbstractBackgroundThe vital signs reflect the physiological state of patients in various clinical conditions. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of cold compress and Xyla-P cream on hemodynamical changes during venipuncture in hemodialysis patients.Methods and MaterialIn this clinical trial study, 50 patients under hemodialysis were selected by simple random sampling. The patients were then randomly assigned to either Xyla-P cream, cold compress or placebo groups. The vital signs (blood pressure and pulse) were measured upon two intermittent hemodialysis sessions before and after venipuncture. Data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance.ResultsThe mean alternation in systolic blood pressure was significantly different comparing the placebo and cold compress groups before and after intervention (p<0.001). However, the difference was not significant between the Xyla-P cream group and either placebo (p=0.402) or ice compress (p=0.698) groups. The difference of the mean diastolic blood pressure was significant comparing the placebo group with either the Xyla-P cream group (p=0.003) or cold compress group (p<0.001) before and after intervention. In addition, there was a significant difference in the mean number of heartbeats comparing the control group with either the Xyla-P cream group (p<0.001) or cold compress group (p<0.001) before and after the intervention.ConclusionsConsidering the beneficial effects of ice compress and the Xyla-P cream on reduction of cardiovascular parameters, it is recommended to use these methods in hemodialysis patients during venipuncture.

Muscular fitness is not only the ability of the body to adapt to work and the environment but also the operational ability of physical behavior. We speculated whether research could be conducted on the theory of muscular fitness and its qualitative/quantitative relationship based on muscular fitness and exercise physiology from the perspective of muscular endurance and muscular exploration. This study used standing long jumps as a standard metric for physical fitness to identify the bottom 20% groups. The experiment involved eight freshmen from the bottom 20% groups, and the pre-tests of the participants’ electromyography (EMG) signals under different exercise intensities were measured and after performing a set of intensive exercises for post-tests. The signal’ characteristics measured in time and frequency domains were analyzed to find the correlation between them and the participants’ muscular fitness. Weighted squats were chosen as the strength movements, which were separated into an exercise experiment and a force plate experiment. Both experiments included three different exercise intensities: 8 repetition maximum (RM), 18RM, and 28RM. The EMG signals were captured and analyzed in both time and the frequency domains. Finally, paired sample tests were performed to determine the difference of features under different exercise intensities. The comparison of readings before and after intensive exercises shows that, for the exercised experiment, a significant difference in the mean absolute (MAV), the variance of EMG (VAR), the root mean square value (RMS), and the average amplitude of change (AAC) was observed under 8RM. Under 18RM, MAV, VAR, and AAC showed a significant difference. In the force plate experiment, RMS, AAC, mean frequency (MNF), and median frequency (MDF) showed a statistically significant difference under the intensity of 18RM. As for intensity under 28RM, MAV, VAR, RMS, and AAC also showed significant difference.

Hypertension is a degenerative disease. This disease is usually suffered by the elderly. The method of treatment taken is through the use of drug consumption [lowering blood pressure, but taking long-term drugs can have a chemical effect in the body, so the use of drugs made from natural ingredients becomes one of the drugs in reducing blood pressure. In addition, yoga can also be used to lower blood pressure. By following exercise regularly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between blood pressure and yoga exercises. The method used in this research is pre-experimental, with a population of 30 respondents, through the sampling technique, namely total sampling. The result of this research is that there is a difference between the correlation test of yoga exercise and blood pressure through the chi square test, the Asymp value is obtained. Sig. (2-sided) 0.025. There is a significant difference between blood pressure before and after doing yoga exercises.

Introduction: Saliva is a complex oral fluid that is secreted by the major and minor salivary glands which have a vital role in sustaining oral hard and soft tissues. The calcium ion is one of the inorganic components of saliva, which plays a vital role in maintaining the tooth enamel integrity through the remineralisation process. The compliance of calcium intake for the body and the enhancement of calcium ions in saliva can be affected by consumption of fruits that comprise lots of calcium. Consumption of fruit containing high calcium can increase buffer capacity, support remineralisation and prevent demineralisation. One of the fruits with rich calcium is red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus). The purpose of this study was to analyse the difference between the salivary calcium ion level before and after consumption of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on the students of Faculty of Dentistry Syiah Kuala University batch 2017. Methods: This study was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The number of subjects in this study was 32 people with one group pretest-posttest design. Saliva was collected by spitting method five times. Results: The average salivary calcium ion before consumption of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) was 1.972, and the average value of salivary calcium ion after consumption of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) was 2.378. Results of the statistical test using the paired t-test showed a significant difference of the salivary calcium ion before and after consumption of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) with the p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a difference of the salivary calcium ion level before and after consumption of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus).
