Micropropagation and micrografting techniques are important methods used to obtain high quality plants. This research aimed to investigate the effect of wild almond species (Prunus communis, P. orientalis, P. korschinskii, and P. arabica) on the success of micrografting almond cultivars (Prunus dulcis cvs. Shami Furk and Dafadii)and determine which combination of growth regulators lead to the highest rate of multiplication in micrografted cultivars. The shoot tips were grafted onto the rooted rootstocks by inverted T-budding. The results indicated that Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium, supplemented with 1 mg/l benzyl adenine (BA), 0.1 mg/l indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 0.2mg/l gibberellic acid (GA3), achieved the highest shoot multiplication with an average of 5.31 and 3.67 shoots per explant and an average of 6.23cm and 4.98cm shoot length in cultivars Shami Furk and Dafadii, respectively. The highest grafting success rates were 80% and 74.26% obtained from Shami Furk/P. arabica and Dafadii/P. arabica combinations, respectively, while the lowest success rate was 50.63% with the Dafadii/P. orientalis combination. The liquid MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l BA + 0.1 mg/l IBA achieved the highest micrografting success and scion shoot length. This research can be used to improve almond cultivation.

The experiment was conducted with the objective to study the effect of different anti-senescence compounds like putrescine and benzyl adenine (BA) on vegetative, floral, and post-harvest keeping quality of chrysanthemum cv. Punjab Shyamli. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design (RBD) and replicated thrice. Putrescine (@ 50, 100, and 150 ppm) and benzyl-adenine (@ 100, 150, and 200 ppm) were sprayed twice on cv. Punjab Shyamli (spray type and pompon) at bud initiation stage and at fully developed flower buds. Control plants were sprayed with normal water. Floral parameters were delayed and the vase life of cut stems was enhanced by benzyl adenine @ 200 ppm. The maximum delay of flower opening stage (116.33 days), number of sprays (5.00), and vase life (27.22 days) were obtained with benzyl-adenine @ 200 ppm treatment. The flower diameter was 4.53 cm with benzyl-adenine @ 200 ppm compared to 2.87 cm in control.

Kata kunci: Stevia, Aksesi,  Benzyl Adenin,  Multiplikasi,  In vitro

+prolonging vase life and decreasing post-harvest losses are considered a basic strategy towards sustainable development of agriculture, and the application of growth regulators, e.g. benzyl adenine(BA) and 1-metylcylcopropane(1-MCP), is one of the practical methods  for them. The effects of benzyl adenine(BA) and 1-metylcylcopropene(1-MCP) on some biochemical characteristics and vase life of rose cv. ‘Royal Baccara’ (Rosa hybrida L. cv. ‘Royal Baccara’), were explored in a factorial experiment based on a randomized complete block design with three replications in 2017. The factors included BA at three levels of 0 (control), 75 and 150 ppm and 1-MCP in three levels of 0 (control), 1 and 2 µl/L-1. The results showed that the maximum soluble protein content was observed in 150 (ppm) BA+ 2 (µl.L-1) 1-MCP treatments on the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth days. The results of this research revealed that BA at the rates of 75 and 150 ppm and 1-MCP at the rates of 1 and 2 (µl.L-1) enhanced soluble protein content by 10.49, 13.37, 15.18, and 18.18 percent as compared to the control, respectively. The results showed that the maximum proline content was related to the control and the minimum content was observed in the plants treated with 150 (ppm) BA+ 2 (µl.L-1) 1-MCP. The endoproteases enzyme content was slightly decreased on the eighth day, indicating the efficacy of BA and 1-MCP in inhibiting the senescence process and prolonging vase life of rose flowers. The results showed that the application of 1 or 2 μl.L-1 1-MCP and 150 mg L-1 BA can improve the vase life of cut roses
