The journey undertaken by the protagonist Assunta Patanè in Mario Monicelli's film The Girl with the Gun is far more than a mere spatial displacement fired by a desire for revenge, but it gradually takes the form of an itinerary of an individualistic and cultural nature that is eventually to overturn the stereotypes of Assunta's native Sicilian community, thus enabling her to embrace modernity and, in particular, emancipation, both of which are totally alien to her at the opening of the film. The metamorphosis of the protagonist passes through various phases that will lead her towards self-awareness and self-determination, following her arrival in Great Britain with the intent to take revenge on Vincenzo, the man responsible for her dishonour. The polyhedral use of language (Sicilian dialect, Standard Italian and English), the impact of a new society and culture, not to mention the series of relations, above all with male characters so different from each other (Vincenzo, John, Frank and Doctor Osborne), will mark Assunta's gradual path towards maturity. In an atmosphere initially overhung with tragedy but gradually transformed through comedy and humour, the Sicilian woman will succeed in freeing herself from the prejudices and customs of an archaic world, so as to affirm her presence and personal identity, now liberated from the simplistic male–female binary and from the respective roles decreed since antiquity.

Abstract A phase compensation method for 1-bit phase quantized transmitarray is discussed. Using the tiled architecture of the transmitarray, the position of each unit cell is changed along the optical axis of the transmitarray. The spatial displacement allows changing the resulting phase distribution along the transmitarray aperture. Analytical calculations were performed to demonstrate the performance of the transmitarray radiation pattern.

O texto apresenta um panorama das nomeações de docentes de Geografia para o magistério municipal no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Como recorte temporal, têm-se os editais de concursos públicos municipais publicizados no triênio de 2016-2019 e as nomeações ocorridas até agosto de 2020. A pesquisa desenvolveu-se a partir de um desenho misto de caráter explanatório-sequencial, iniciando com uma etapa quantitativa e, posteriormente, uma etapa qualitativa, a partir das quais foi possível inferir, em números absolutos, a distribuição das nomeações. Organizadas por regiões intermediárias do estado estudado, relacionou-se o local de formação com o de nomeação, permitindo depreender o deslocamento espacial dos/das docentes. Como principais resultados a pesquisa realizada apresenta o elevado número de nomeações de docentes para o período, totalizando, até o momento, 152 nomeações e o grande deslocamento de mão de obra de regiões formadoras para municípios localizados em outras regiões.  Palavras-chave Docente de Geografia, Nomeações, Concursos, Magistério Municipal.   WHERE I CAME FROM: appointed teachers for teaching in the municipal education of Rio Grande do Sul - spatiality of Geography teachers Abstract The text presents an overview of the appointments of Geography teachers for the municipal education of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. As a time frame, there are the notices that took place in the 2016-2019 triennium and the appointments that occurred until August 2020. The research was developed from a mixed design of explanatory-sequential character, starting with a quantitative stage and, later, a qualitative stage, from which it was possible to infer, in absolute numbers, the distribution of nominations. Organized by intermediate regions of the studied state, the place of formation was related to the place of appointment, allowing the understanding of the spatial displacement of the teachers. As main results the article presents the high number of teachers’ appointments for the period, a total of 152 appointments, and the large displacement of labor from training regions to municipalities located in other regions. The purpose of study is to generalize the vertical displacements of the GNSS network of spatial monitoring of the Dnister HPP-1 dam for the differentiation of its kinematics as well as to evaluate the impact of short-term geodynamic processes in the region. Object of study. The object of the study is the monitoring of the Dniester HPP-1 dam according to the GNSS network data of the stationary system for monitoring the spatial displacement of structures (SSMSDS) of the Dniester HPP-1. The basis of the Dnister SSMSDS are two base GNSS stations additionally equipped with a robotic total station, which are installed on a strong foundation and located at a distance of several hundred meters from the dam. There are control points equipped with a GNSS receiver, antenna and an angle reflector with a 3600 viewing angle on the crest of the dam. The results of GNSS measurements are transmitted to the Leica GNSS Spider software, which processes and determines the coordinates of the base and control points. The GEOMOS software performs a joint estimation of GNSS results and linear-angular measurements. Methodology. To generalize the displacements of GNSS stations of Dnister HPP-1 the method of statistical analysis of time series is used. Authors examine the covariance interrelationships between all GNSS stations of the stationary system for monitoring the spatial displacement of structures (SSMSDS) of the Dnister HPP-1, which are placed on the dam based on the results of measurements from 1.07.2017 to 31.03.2021. For the selected periods of anomalous short-term displacements, the average values of covariance for each GNSS station are calculated. Results. During the period from 1.07.2017 to 31.03.2021 and according to the results of covariance interrelation for most GNSS stations, 3 epochs of anomalous altitude displacements are established (T = 2017.8 ± 0.1, T = 2019.0 ± 0.1, T = 2019.4 ± 0.1). Based on the covariance analysis, it was found that for periods of anomalous vertical displacements, the kinematics of the GNSS station MP01 differs significantly from the kinematics of GNSS stations MP02-MP05. The kinematics of GNSS-stations MP02-MP05 is constant, which indicates the anomalous movement of the unit on which the GNSS-station MP01 is installed in relation to the other blocks of the dam of the Dnister HPP-1. Scientific novelty and practical significance. Authors proposed the method for studying the geodynamics possesses of large industrial areas covered by a network of GNSS stations. Based on the GNSS measurements the periods of anomalous displacement are reveled and further search for spatial kinematic interrelationships between pair of GNSS stations is established. The developed methodology can be used to differentiate the kinematics of structural elements with installed GNSS stations such as engineering structures, industrial areas, geodynamic polygons.

A new nanofabrication method for construction of complex superlattice structure with versatile super-periodicity is developed using the moiré fringe of anodized aluminium oxide (AAO) membranes. Two ultrathin AAO membranes with long-range order holes are stacked to form 2D moiré nanopatterns. Both rotational symmetry and the periodicity of the holes are modified by the relative spatial displacement between the superimposing layers. Using the membranes as metal evaporation masks, a wide assortment of complex Al nanostructures are fabricated by varying the misorientation angle of the two ultrathin AAO membranes. Highly ordered Al nanoparticles with different sizes, shapes, orientations, and arrangements on substrates are achieved, which are expected to give abundant surface plasmon mode.

Two parametric methods for determining the coordinates of leaks in underground pipelines are presented. The methods are a development of the well-known correlation method for determining the coordinates of leaks in the direction of taking into account complications that introduce a multiplicity of types of waves and damage in conjunction with extraneous interference. Both methods use secondary data processing, namely the processing of correlation functions to determine their quality parameters, which are then maximized. According to the first method, maximization occurs using the spatial displacement of the sensors at the points of access to the pipeline, according to the second method, by choosing the frequency range of signals. For this, the correlation function is provided in the form of a frequency dependence of its quality parameters - power, signal-to-noise ratio, with the display of the corresponding coordinate. Also, the concepts of "coordinate shelf" and its length, which are convenient for analysis, are used. The methods have been practically tested. Both methods are explained with examples.

Abstract 1.1. PurposeHybrid activation mapping is a novel tool to correct for spatial displacement of the mapping catheter due to asymmetrical contraction of myocardium during premature ventricular contractions (PVC). The aim of this study is to describe the extent and cause of spatial displacement during PVC mapping and options for correction using hybrid activation mapping. 1.2. Methods and ResultsWe analyzed 5798 hybrid mapping points in 40 acquired hybrid maps of 22 consecutive patients (age 63±16 years, 45% female) treated for premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). Median PVC-coupling interval was 552 ms (IQR 83 ms). Spatial displacement was determined by measuring the dislocation of the catheter tip during PVC compared to the preceding sinus beat. Mean spatial displacement was 3.8±1.5 mm for all maps. The displacement was 1.3±0.4 mm larger for PVCs with non-outflow-tract origin compared to PVCs originating from the ventricular outflow tracts (RVOT/LVOT; p=0.028). Demographic parameters, PVC-coupling-interval and chamber of origin had no significant influence on the extent of spatial displacement. 1.3. ConclusionEctopic activation of the ventricular myocardium during PVCs results in spatial displacement of mapping points that is significantly larger for PVCs with non-outflow-tract origin. The correction for spatial displacement may improve accuracy of radiofrequency current (RFC)-application in catheter ablation of PVCs.

Tourists are often exposed to imagery of a destination through advertisement modalities such as texts and pictures before they visit the place. This research used an eye-tracking technique to examine the effect of spatial and modality configurations on tourist destination advertisement attention and travel intention. Drawing on multiple resource theory and based on two 4 (spatial displacement) × 3 (modality) experiments, results reveal that spatial location and modality have an impact on tourist attention with respect to their dwell time and fixation counts, which lead to greater propensity to visit a place. In addition, tourists paid more attention to advertisements that occupy congruent attentional resources than to those using interference resources.
