J. J. Gibson's ground theory of space perception is contrasted with Descartes’ theory, which reduces all of space perception to the perception of distance and angular direction, relative to an abstract viewpoint. Instead, Gibson posits an embodied perceiver, grounded by gravity, in a stable layout of realistically textured, extended surfaces and more delimited objects supported by these surfaces. Gibson's concept of optical contact ties together this spatial layout, locating each surface relative to the others and specifying the position of each object by its location relative to its surface of support. His concept of surface texture—augmented by perspective structures such as the horizon—specifies the scale of objects and extents within this layout. And his concept of geographical slant provides surfaces with environment-centered orientations that remain stable as the perceiver moves around. Contact-specified locations on extended environmental surfaces may be the unattended primitives of the visual world, rather than egocentric or allocentric distances. The perception of such distances may best be understood using Gibson's concept of affordances. Distances may be perceived only as needed, bound through affordances to the particular actions that require them.

Abstract: Melikan Village as a tourist village for pottery craftsmen is the only one in the world with an oblique rotation technique. This village is unique in its anthropological design. This study will discuss how the design anthropology in Melikan Village, which can be seen from the regional design pattern, its composition, the designation function so as to form a relationship of form-function-meaning in the region. The method used is descriptive with journals and books that discuss the anthropology of the Melikan Village area, accompanied by direct observation and study of the state of the Melikan tourist village. Some of the theories used are: figure ground theory, linkage, form and symbols, as well as the forming elements of urban planning which are used to analyze the macro and micro (building) as form-function-meaning relation (region). From the research carried out, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between the form-function-meaning of anthropology found in the Melikan Tourism Village Area. In macro: such as the existence of figure ground theory, Linkage, shapes and symbols, as well as elements of urban planning, In micro (residents' houses, showrooms and Sunan Pandanaran’s mosque) there are several similarities in the shape of the building (Adjusting the state of the room), Building structures that use structures and roofs to adjust the shape of the house, Facades are made of woven bamboo and some of the bricks and ornaments, some of which use earthenware columns, as well as in mosque buildings found in the form of buildings that are symmetrical and taller than the surrounding area, the canopy roof structure containing the crown as a symbol of Allah's power, simple facades and windows made of wood, and ornaments on the door with plant motifs symbolizing closeness to nature. There is integration between residents' houses as a center for pottery craftsmen, a showroom and the Sunan Pandanaran mosque.

As the impact factors of the waste Not-In-My-Back Yard (NIMBY) crisis are complex, and the scenario evolution path of it is diverse. Once the crisis is not handled properly, it will bring adverse effects on the construction of waste NIMBY facilities, economic development and social stability. Consequently, based on ground theory, this paper takes the waste NIMBY crisis in China from 2006 to 2019 as typical cases, through coding analysis, scenario evolution factors of waste NIMBY crisis are established. Furtherly, three key scenarios were obtained, namely, external situation (E), situation state (S), emergency management (M), what is more, scenario evolution law of waste NIMBY crisis is revealed. Then, the dynamic Bayesian network theory is used to construct the dynamic scenario evolution network of waste NIMBY crisis. Finally, based on the above models, Xiantao waste NIMBY crisis is taken as a case study, and the dynamic process of scenario evolution network is visually displayed by using Netica. The simulation results show that the scenario evolution network of Xiantao waste NIMBY crisis is basically consistent with the actual incident development process, which confirms the effectiveness and feasibility of the model.

. 1) Background: Intersectionality contests that individuals have multiple characteristics in their identity that cannot be siloed or deemed exclusive to each other. Understanding and utilising an intersectional lens in organisations can increase inclusion of individuals and organisational performance. An educational package known as the Intersectionality Walk (IW) was developed by the authors, piloted, and evaluated in order to break down the commonly held descriptors of diversity silos that fragments inclusion, and to understand how various identity characteristics compound disadvantage. The paper outlines the need to transition from siloed views of diversity to a more intrinsic view of identity to achieve inclusivity. 2) Methods: The IW was developed and trialled with a series of work-based scenarios and realistic multifaceted personas. Data collection occurred pre- and post- IW utilising a mixed methods approach. Responses to Likert scale surveys and open-ended questions were captured and analysed via inductive and ground theory perspectives. 3) Results: An improved awareness and understanding of individual knowledge, reflectivity and positionality relating to intersectionality and intersectional approaches was reported on completion of the IW. Further, responses reported how and why organisations can approach and improve inclusivity via using intersectional approaches. 4) Conclusions: The IW as an educational package has a positive impact and is a key linkage for all employers to build an inclusive culture and to harness the talent of all employees. Further research will occur to measure the implemented change in organisations following the IW.
