This chapter bases itself on the premise that the society that will emerge from this COVID-19 health crisis will inevitably differ from the current one. People have become more vulnerable, and this sense of vulnerability, fragility, and uncertainty has spread throughout society, and is no longer limited to certain social groups. The contemporary idea of security has also collapsed in societies that no longer seem secure, predictable, or under control. This situation of a weakened society is the first paradigm shift, brought forth alongside the notion of identity linked to time, space, and humanity. To that end, we carry out a review of the events which triggered the crisis in Europe and Africa.

Cultural heritage (CH) represents human identity and evidence of the existence and activities that people have left over time. In response to the action of aggressive degrading factors, different materials have been developed and used to protect cultural heritage artifacts. The discovery of optimal materials for this purpose also raises several problems, mainly related to their compatibility with the support material, the most important aspect being that they must preserve their aesthetic characteristics. In this context, the present review paper aims to provide a critical discussion about the possibilities of using different inorganic nanomaterials and recipes for the conservation of cultural heritage objects of organic nature (such as paper, wood, and other support materials). In addition, also are covered different aspect concerning protection mechanisms and application methods as well as future perspectives in this area.

The purpose of this article is to reveal the specific features of personality-oriented education and to consider how a person, being in dialogue with another person, can declare freedom only by an act of own free will. To achieve the goal set, the authors have used a set of theoretical and empirical methods of analysis, description, comparison, extrapolation, synthesis, hermeneutic methodology, and a method of implication. Cross-sectional studies and case studies have also been used at the intersection of philosophy and psychology. It is emphasized that in the Ukrainian framework of the representation, this problem demonstrates the following – the “old” system of education, formed on the principle of necessity, has demonstrated its inef- fective mechanism of action through a system of prohibitions and oppression. The “new” system of educa- tion, built on the principle of freedom, relies on its effectiveness, rejecting necessity and eliminating com- pulsion. However, the methodological error of creating something new by destroying the old and ineffi- cient is becoming more and more evident.

The aim of the article is to dissect the phenomenon of capitalist labor in the US as depicted in Boots Riley’s film Sorry to Bother You (2018). The primary focus of the article is the film’s rendering of the creation of horse humans which the article reads as a metaphor for class relations in the modern society. First, the article analyzes the film’s plot in the context of the cultural assumptions and beliefs connected with the figure of the horse. Next, it draws on Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of “becoming-animal” in order to unveil the revolutionary potential possibly latent in hybridization. Finally, after commenting on the ways in which capitalism weaponizes technological development, the article inscribes the notion of hybridization into the nature-culture dichotomy.

Privacy will inevitably come into tension with other values that good societies should care about. This book intentionally has relatively little to say about those other values, because its goal has been to make the case for privacy on the occasion of its supposed death. We cannot appropriately weigh privacy against other values if we have little idea why it matters. To recap: Privacy is the degree to which human information neither is known nor used. Human information confers power over humans, and we should think about it in terms of the rules that govern human information—instrumental rules that promote human values like human identity, political freedom, and consumer protection. We should also start treating privacy as a fundamental right—not a right of individual control to be bartered away but one with social dimensions and that protects the most vulnerable among us. That’s why privacy matters.
