Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can become a bio-psycho-socio-economic-culture-spiritual burden for individuals because its complex treatment and management. Self-acceptance and adherence to medication are the keys in lupus management. Purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-acceptance level of lupus patients and their medication adherence level. The study was designed using a correlational study with a cross sectional approach. About 92 lupus patient respondents at Kupu Parahita Indonesia Foundation who went to the Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang were selected using purposive sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Respondents were asked to fill out a modified Acceptance of Illness questionnaire to measure patient self-acceptance level and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale 8 (MMAS-8) to assess drug adherence level. From the 92 respondents, it was found that 37% had a high level of self-acceptance, 52.2% were moderate, and 10.8% were low. Adherence medication level in 92 respondents showed 51.1% high, 38.1% moderate, and 10.8% low. Spearman test results showed a significant relationship between self-acceptance level and medication adherence level (p=0.001, r=0.355). This value indicates the strength of the weak relationship and the direction of the positive correlation between self-acceptance and medication adherence. Conclusion, the higher of self-acceptance level of lupus patients, the higher medication adherence level.

Abstract: The main objective of the extension group is to disseminate the oil palm technologies to the independent oil palm smallholders (ISH). However, since the beginning of the establishment of the extension group in the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in 2002, there is no clear information on the acceptance level of ISH toward extension service activities by this group. Therefore, the main objectives of this study are to determine the perception and attitude of ISH toward the extension service activities by extension group and to identify the association between the level of perception and attitude of ISH toward extension activities with ISH personal profile and farm background. Based on the total population in the study area, the number of samples to be selected in this study is 384 respondents. Interview administrated questionnaires were employed to obtain the relevant data. The study revealed that the total average mean of respondents’ perception and attitude towards extension service activities is 3.99 which belongs to the category of high score range (3.67 – 5.00). Therefore, it shows that ISH has a positive perception and attitude towards extension service which can lead to the high acceptance level of extension service activities by extension group among ISH. Other than that, based on the chi-square analysis, it shows that different demographic profiles significantly influence the level of perception & attitude of ISH toward extension activities. The findings of this study will assist the extension group in MPOB to re-strategize and further improve its extension service while contributing to future studies.

PurposeThe emergence of the Software-as-a-service (SaaS) licensing model dramatically changes how enterprise software is released. Especially, it is favored by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) because of the cost-friendly feature. In contrast, many large enterprises (LEs) own relatively abundant budgets and prefer the on-premise software to fulfill demands through customization. Considering the differentiated cost-acceptance level among customers, this study aims to address the versioning problem of the enterprise software faced by software firms.Design/methodology/approachA two-point distribution model is formulated to calculate the maximal profits software firm earned from both LEs and SMEs under three strategies (On-premise, SaaS and Hybrid). Then through profit comparison, this paper obtains the optimal versioning strategy and corresponding feasible conditions. Finally, the optimal solutions are derived concerning social welfare.FindingsA significant finding is that moving to SaaS becomes necessary for the software firms in product releases since the on-premise strategy will not be optimal. Based on this, this paper discovers that when LEs own a cost-acceptance level close to that of SMEs, the hybrid strategy is the only optimal choice. When LEs become less sensitive to costs, the hybrid strategy is suggested if the customization cost falls below the threshold. Otherwise, the SaaS strategy becomes the optimal option. The conclusions explain why some software vendors transit to “cloud companies” thoroughly and provide practical insights for software firms’ future decisions.Originality/valueTo the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first information economics study to consider consumer cost sensitivity in discussing enterprise software versioning. The differentiated cost-acceptance level is introduced to describe the customer utilities, and the results uncover the necessity of moving to SaaS under diversified customer composition. This work provides significant theoretical value and practical insights.

Abstract Nori is processed seaweed that is quite popular, including in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics and consumer acceptance level of nori from Sargassum hystrix seaweed. S. hystrix (in wet and/or dry form) was soaked in 0.01% NaOH, then blended into a slurry. S. hystrix slurry was molded in size 15x15 cm and dried in an oven (70°C, 3 hours). The analysis included thickness, hardness, proximate analysis, antioxidant activity with 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), antidiabetic activity, and hedonic tests. The results of this study indicate that the composition of the initial conditions of raw materials has a significant effect (P<0.05) on the characteristics and consumer acceptance level of S. hystrix nori. The best treatment was obtained on nori made from the initial raw material in wet form with the characteristics of a thickness of 0.34 mm, hardness of 335.21 gf, water content of 14.47%, ash content of 21.22%, protein content of 7.51%, fat content of 9.64%, total phenol content of 21.01 mg GAE/g, DPPH inhibition activity 62.77%, FRAP value 133.50 M/g, (-glucosidase inhibitory activity 43.81%, and consumer acceptance level of appearance 2.66, aroma 2.41, texture 3.06, flavour 3.26, and color 2.98.

Abstract Background In the development of artificial intelligence in ophthalmology, the ophthalmic AI-related recognition issues are prominent, but there is a lack of research into people’s familiarity with and their attitudes toward ophthalmic AI. This survey aims to assess medical workers’ and other professional technicians’ familiarity with, attitudes toward, and concerns about AI in ophthalmology. Methods This is a cross-sectional study design study. An electronic questionnaire was designed through the app Questionnaire Star, and was sent to respondents through WeChat, China’s version of Facebook or WhatsApp. The participation was voluntary and anonymous. The questionnaire consisted of four parts, namely the respondents’ background, their basic understanding of AI, their attitudes toward AI, and their concerns about AI. A total of 562 respondents were counted, with 562 valid questionnaires returned. The results of the questionnaires are displayed in an Excel 2003 form. Results There were 291 medical workers and 271 other professional technicians completed the questionnaire. About 1/3 of the respondents understood AI and ophthalmic AI. The percentages of people who understood ophthalmic AI among medical workers and other professional technicians were about 42.6 % and 15.6 %, respectively. About 66.0 % of the respondents thought that AI in ophthalmology would partly replace doctors, about 59.07 % having a relatively high acceptance level of ophthalmic AI. Meanwhile, among those with AI in ophthalmology application experiences (30.6 %), above 70 % of respondents held a full acceptance attitude toward AI in ophthalmology. The respondents expressed medical ethics concerns about AI in ophthalmology. And among the respondents who understood AI in ophthalmology, almost all the people said that there was a need to increase the study of medical ethics issues in the ophthalmic AI field. Conclusions The survey results revealed that the medical workers had a higher understanding level of AI in ophthalmology than other professional technicians, making it necessary to popularize ophthalmic AI education among other professional technicians. Most of the respondents did not have any experience in ophthalmic AI but generally had a relatively high acceptance level of AI in ophthalmology, and there was a need to strengthen research into medical ethics issues.
