In this work Bi1−xNdxFe0.99Co0.01O3 ceramics compositions were synthesized for x = 0.05, 0.20 and, y = 0.01. Structural refinement results show that most of the samples crystallized in a rhombohedral symmetry with R3c. Measurements magnetoelectric coefficient, show that the magnetoelectric coefficients are of second order. The electrical impedance characterization of in function external magnetic fields, has a relative variation of the real dielectric response, the loss tangent and the electrical impedance. The systems, as the DC magnetic field strength increased a gain in both the values of the dielectric constant variation, as well as the variation of the electrical impedance. In other words, the greater the intensity of the magnetic field, the greater your response. There were also significant variations with of the magnetic field AC.

Nowadays, green hydrogen is an important niche of interest in which the search for a suitable composite material is indispensable. In this sense, titanium oxide nanotubes (TiO2 nanotube, TNTs) were prepared from double anodic oxidation of Ti foil in ethylene glycol electrolyte. The morphology of the nanotubes was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Once characterized, nanotubes were used as templates for the deposition of hematite. The use of three synthetic procedures was assayed: Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR), and electrochemical synthesis. In the first case, CVD, the deposition of hematite onto TiO2 yielded an uncovered substrate with the oxide and a negative shift of the flat band potential. On the other hand, the SILAR method yielded a considerable amount of hematite on the surface of nanotubes, leading to an obstruction of the tubes in most cases. Finally, with the electrochemical synthesis, the composite material obtained showed great control of the deposition, including the inner surface of the TNT. In addition, the impedance characterization showed a negative shift, indicating the changes of the interface electrode–electrolyte due to the modification with hematite. Finally, the screening of the methods showed the electrochemical synthesis as the best protocol for the desired material.

Impedance cytometry represents a technique that allows the electronic characterization of colloids and living cells in a highly miniaturized way. In contrast with impedance spectroscopy, the measurements are performed at a fixed frequency, providing real-time monitoring of the species traveling over the sensor. By measuring the electrical properties of particles in suspension, the dielectric characteristics (electric conductivity and capacitance) of both cells and particles can be readily determined. During the last years, this technique has been broadly investigated; however, it is still not trivial to differentiate particles of similar size based on their dielectric characteristics. A way to increase the discrimination abilities of this technique could be the integration of nanostructures into the impedance platforms. In this work, we present the impedance cytometry study of particles using microfluidic channels aligned over interdigitated gold nanowire structures as our impedimetric sensor. The characterization of particles of different sizes and their comparison with particles of different compositions will provide an understanding of the correlation between the electrical signal and the characteristics of each particle. This approach is an attractive element for label-free detection platforms that can be integrated into lab-on-a-chip systems and further implemented for single-cell analysis.

Abstract AlGaN/GaN HEMTs grown on high resistive silicon (111) substrate grown by molecular beam epitaxy have been investigated using impedance measurements. Passivation of the HEMT devices is made in order to improve the electron transport. As has been found from conductance data, the electron traps are eliminated after passivation. The impedance spectroscopy has been, on the other hand, studied from the electrical transport. As a result, a complex impedance plot was revealed an equivalent circuit models indicating single semicircles and the solid interface.
