Training courses are one of the most important ways for the improvement of teaching criteria and continuing professional development especially for the new and less experienced teachers in English language teaching. This requires many studies for continuing professional development, skills development and teaching methods through training courses to get reliable information about the current levels and educational proficiency for teachers. All this calls for checking the influence of training programmes and evaluating them to elevate progress levels and its tangible impact on learning and teaching.

Some academics are pushing for teaching staff to implement didactical practices to obtain sustainable behavior. Moreover, a fundamental element of gamification in all educational stages is the noteworthy effect it has on student motivation. In our study, we examined higher education students’ assessments in the University of Malaga on the design of educational gamification and the teaching criteria that relate to gamification, and its effect on student’s motivation, the applications of gamification, and the attitude towards sustainability. A questionnaire was administered to students studying for degrees in education from the University of Malaga. A total of 187 valid surveys were obtained. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was computed for these data based on an exploratory–confirmatory model and using SmartPLS version 3.3.2. A positive relationship between assessment of students’ motivation and sustainability attitude was found. We found that the opinions of the students about the role of their training and teaching design material in education would affect students’ motivation and the sustainability behavior, although the power of this last construct is moderate.

Translation activity is by nature a complex process in terms of knowledge. There are linguistic rules and cultural guidelines in order to communicate one’s message to another language. Terminology complexity (Cabré, 2003) is an important variable that can directly affect translation learning and second language acquisition, when not considering teaching criteria in selecting academic texts for the students. The final objective of this project was to create an instrument that allows teachers to select and classify the complexity levels stated in each translation class program for low, intermediate and high complexity texts. This is to standardize the text selection process to which the students are exposed to when learning translation at INACAP University. The project aims to define the fundamental criteria in an instructional portfolio, so as each program can develop a competence-based approach related to the translation, the selection of source texts to translate is not up to each teacher’s expert opinion, but to the fundamental features of the academic text selection. All this is in order to accomplish the objective of each class program and achieve the exit profile.

AbstractMaster teachers are associated with achieving excellence in teaching; however, there are no research studies that describe master teachers in nursing. Based on an analysis of interview responses from eleven, experienced, full-time, undergraduate nurse educators, this qualitative study offers an empirically based description of characteristics and behaviors of master teachers in nursing. This description of master teachers provides nurse educators with characteristics and behaviors that may be needed to develop a master teacher practice. Increasing the number of master teachers in nursing could have implications for creating teaching criteria to evaluate teaching practice and develop professional development activities.

Teaching assessment refers to the process of assessing the teaching effect and implementation of the teaching goal, it aims to make corresponding value judgment through systematic detection and assessment of teaching activities according to certain teaching criteria. An effective teaching assessment not only brings teachers feedback and improves the teaching administration, but also provides students with an effective means to optimize the learning strategies to achieve better learning efficiency and desired effects. So a comprehensive and accurate assessment is of vital significance to propel the course goals into accomplishment. In college English graded teaching practice, it is prerequisite to adhere to the assessment principle of development and diversification of assessment dimensions in order to arrive at an effective classroom evaluation.

Higher education is facing many challenges. The world is becoming a global community due to the fast development of technology. A present-day citizen of the world must quickly and efficiently communicate thoughts and ideas, think critically, adapt to changing circumstances. In the world with almost unlimited access to information, the ability and skills to differentiate accurate and inaccurate information are becoming imperative. The higher education society is becoming more and more multicultural and this demographic change has created the necessity to review approaches and attitudes to teaching. The burden to adapt to the requirements of the multicultural education is on higher education teachers. What are the criteria for excellent teaching? What makes excellent teachers, and what qualities and skills do they possess?
