Along with the spread of the COVID-19 virus which has an impact on new student admissions at various universities in Indonesia. This impact was also felt at the Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin (POLIBAN) with the decline in the number of registrants and the public's interest in continuing higher education. So, we need a promotion that is not monotonous and must be innovative. Various kinds of technology have been created to support and facilitate all activities in various fields, one of which is in the field of promotional media. Promotion is very important for a university to offer or show the facilities and infrastructure contained in the university and show its quality. The purpose of this study is to implement mobile augmented reality technology as a POLIBAN promotional media solution and evaluate the user experience of the application. The research method used is the Extreme Programming (XP) development method and a technique for evaluating user experience using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The results of the research conducted based on the results of the implementation stated that functionally all the features offered by the application can function properly and the results of the evaluation of user experience as a non-functional assessment of 50 respondents with an average value of 2.87 with an excellent predicate.

Abstract The session will focus on new and existing innovative ways that Community Colleges are effectively addressing workforce needs resulting from a rapidly aging population; the ever-expanding career pathways available to students in the field of gerontology; as well as the continuing higher education needs of students transferring to bachelor’s and graduate-level gerontology programs. A panel of Community College and University gerontology professionals, representing both the GSA Community College and Aging Workforce Interest Groups, will share the innovative ways that they are working to address the three focus areas of this symposium. We will also include opportunities for discussion with participants about their experiences with and ideas for addressing these issues.

AbstractThis article will answer the research question if relatedness and organizational resources influence the teaching motivation in continuing higher education, whereby a distinction is made between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Self-determination theory is used as the theoretical underpinning. We conducted a survey of 549 continuing higher education university faculty. Regression analysis determined that relatedness was correlated with intrinsic teaching motivation but was not correlated with extrinsic teaching motivation. Meanwhile, organizational resources increase both intrinsic and extrinsic teaching motivation. Professors are more extrinsically motivated than other faculty. The older university faculty tends to be less extrinsically and more intrinsically motivated. Additionally, female university faculty are more intrinsically motivated than male university faculty.

This study aims to determine the factors influencing interest in continuing higher education to the Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Pelita Kebenaran Medan with religiosity as moderating variables, empirical study of the Congregation Gereja Bethel Indonesia, Medan Plaza. This research is a type of causal comparative research. The sample of this study amounted to 108 respondents with the sampling method using simple random sampling, the data testing method used was the structural equation modeling (SEM) test. Based on the test results, it was found that attitude had a significant positive effect on interest, subjective norms did not have a significant effect on interest, perceived behavioral control did not have a significant effect on interest, religiosity was not proven to moderate the effect of attitude on interest, religiosity was proven to moderate the effect of subjective norms on interest, and religiosity was not proven to moderate the effect of perceived behavioral control on interest. This chapter focuses on the process of conducting criminological research. Regardless of the size of the research, the same key principles and elements apply. The chapter begins by looking at how to choose a research or dissertation topic and how to conduct the necessary academic reading in this area and decide on an appropriate research methodology for that topic. It then considers how the project can be effectively planned and organised, and provides some advice on writing up the research and demonstrating critical thinking. Finally, the chapter identifies the fundamental ethical principles for conducting research: encouraging engagement with ethical thinking that goes further than a tick on a box of a dissertation proposal. These steps will develop the research experience and skills necessary for the ‘next step’ of continuing higher education or progressing into employment.

Developing an expert system application in providing an overview of the interests of students to help decision making interests in the vocational field so that they are right on target in choosing a major. In this study, using the Certainty Factor method and the Fordward Chaining method where this expert system can help experts identify vocational interests based on the characteristics of vocational interest in students. The personality types used to determine the type of vocational interest are Tangible, Thinking, Flexible, and Entrepreneur. The results of system calculations with expert decisions are worth 80% of the 4 test data, so a good level of accuracy is obtained. The resulting expert system can help students quickly provide an overview of vocational interest in making department decisions in continuing higher education, can carry out online consultations, document files, and can be used as a consultation portal for students.

The field of adult and continuing higher education has lagged behind in the development of new theories and approaches of instructional design and curriculum development, creating an urgent need for new perspectives and practices among practitioners and instructional faculty. This chapter provides a comprehensive review of instructional design and curriculum development trends, approaches and theoretical/conceptual perspectives and approaches that could be useful in adult and continuing higher education. Based on the review, the chapter proposes contemporary views and implications for practice and research.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and especially continuing higher education has an influence on the development of a region. By focusing on demands of the regional economy as well as its population, these data contribute to the demand-oriented development of study programmes. Therefore, continuing higher education at HEIs is getting more attractive and the participation rate can be enlarged. Another aspect could be the identification of new target groups, for example regional minorities. In this paper, the Westpfalz region (Germany) is considered as an example, as it has interesting characteristics, such as the structural weakness and the participation in further education that is below national average. For this purpose, a representative Regional Population Survey was conducted to describe the population of the Westpfalz region and their educational needs. The group of non-employed people stood out in this survey because of their size and their willingness to participate in continuing higher education. In contrast to the traditional target group of employed academics, the results of the survey show that there are similarities and differences referring to their educational requirements. These results provide evidence that helps to develop and design study programmes especially for continuing higher education that take into account the needs of this target group. At the end of the paper, the potential impact this may have for the Westpfalz region is discussed.
