Abstract A 95-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the outcomes of feeding Bacillus subtilis fermented Azolla (BSFA) on nonspecific immunity, antioxidative status, intestinal digestive enzymes and histomorphometry, and disease resistance in the Nile tilapia. We formulated five isonitrogenous and isocaloric experimental diets to incorporate BSFA at (0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%). The growth performance parameters (FBW, BWG, SGR, PER and FCR) revealed a significant increase in the BSFA30 tilapia group compared to the control group followed by BSFA45 (P < 0.05). The BSFA30 group exhibited the highest nonspecific immunity parameters (lysozyme activity, phagocytic index and phagocytic activity) compared to other groups (P < 0.05). SOD and GPx reported the highest values in the BSFA60 group. Nile tilapia carcass composition was not influenced by BSFA inclusion level (P ˃ 0.05). Interestingly, Nile tilapia fed with BSFA15 diet exhibited the highest protease activity level (P ˂ 0.05), while those fed on BSFA30 documented the highest amylase activity. Intestinal histomorphology was significantly enhanced with the gradual increase of administrated BSFA. Tilapia disease resistance against A. septicemia, BSFA significantly diminished the cumulative mortality compared to the control group. To sum up, BSFA was more effective in improving the growth performance and immunity of Nile tilapia.

The use of biologically active substances of tissue origin for the creation of biologically active additives and immunomodulatory drugs is an important area of scientific research in the field of nutrition and pharmacology. The aim of the work is to evaluate the effect of enzymatic hydrolysate from the fabricium bag of broiler chickens on the cytotoxicity and nonspecific immunity of mice against the background of experimental salmonella infection using biotechnological methods. For the experiment, three equal experimental groups of white mongrel mice were formed. All laboratory animals were fed daily for seven days with enzymatic hydrolysate at a dose of 750 mg/kg (therapeutic dose), 150 mg/kg (0.2 therapeutic dose) and 3,750 mg/kg (five therapeutic doses). At the same time, the control group of animals received intragastric water in the same volume. 24 hours after the last intake of the enzymatic hydrolysate, the animals were intraperitoneally infected with a culture of Salmonella enteritidis 92. The study reveals the absence of cytotoxic properties and impaired cell viability in cultures L929, J774.1A, HeLa S3, K562, and HST116 against the background of exposure to various concentrations of enzymatic hydrolysate from 0.02 to 10 mg/ml. It should be noted that there is a pronounced cytotoxic effect on MCF-7 tumor cells of the concentration of enzymatic hydrolysate in culture of 5 and 10 mg/ml, which suggests the possibility of using enzymatic hydrolysate for the prevention of tumor diseases. As a result of the experiment, it has been proved that the administration of enzymatic hydrolysate to mice increased the LD50 index and the survival rate of mice infected with the culture of the causative agent of salmonellosis by 1.5 times. Based on the conducted studies, it has been shown that the enzymatic hydrolysate of the lymphoid tissue of broiler chickens does not violate the viability of mammalian cells and does not exhibit cytotoxic properties on the metabolism of healthy mammalian cells, which indicates its safety. In an experiment on mice, the effect of enzymatic hydrolysate of the fabricium bag of broiler chickens on the activation of nonspecific immunity against salmonella infection has been revealed.

The aim of the work was to study the effect of immunomodulators "Imunofan" and "Fosprenil" on the intensity of nitric oxide (II) formation and the morphological composition of blood in calves. Increased levels of stable nitric oxide (II) metabolites in the blood plasma of calves after the use of immunomodulators indicates the participation of NO in nonspecific immunity reactions. Also the established relationship between the level of stable nitric oxide (II) metabolites and the number of stab neutrophils proves that NO is one of the regulators of neutrophil activity.

Abstract A comparative study of some parameters of nonspecific immunity in the Angelinskii rubella-resistant variant of the scaly and mirror groups of carp in the prespawning and late feeding periods was carried out. The level of the antimicrobial properties of the C-reactive protein, nonspecific immune complexes in the blood serum, and phagocytic activity of neutrophils were studied. The study showed interbreed and inter-seasonal differences in some indicators. It is concluded that the higher level of bacteriostatic activity of blood serum in the rubella-resistant variant, compared with other groups of carp, provides a low percentage of immunodeficient individuals and resistance to pathogens of infectious diseases.

Abstract. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of data on the state of nonspecific cellular immunity in studies with sera and autostrains of S. aureus isolated from patients with allergic dermatoses, which would reflect the intensity of antimicrobial immunity in patients with allergic dermatoses, aggravated by staphylococcal infection, depending on the severity of dermatosis. The aim of the study was to determine and analyze the results of antimicrobial immunity indicators in patients with atopic dermatitis and true eczema, aggravated by staphylococcal infection, using sera and autostrains of S. aureus, depending on the severity of the disease. Material and methods. It was included 107 patients with different stage of the allergic dermatoses severity and control group of 15 healthy individuals to the research . The patients were divided into 3 groups in according to the severity of cutaneous process course. There were determined the basic indices of initial stages of phagocytosis and oxydepending bactericidal activity of the phagocytes. It was conducted the immunologic examinations using the autostrains patient from the locus morbi and standard strain S. aureus ATCC for the estimation of antimicrobial immunity. Results. Evaluation of phagocytosis indices in patients with allergodermatosеs showed a correlation between the severity of the disease course and the level of inhibition of the cellular level of nonspecific immunity. According to the results of studies using autostrains S. aureus, the most significant inhibition of phagocytosis (p ≤ 0,05), compared to the values of similar indicators in the control group of healthy individuals, it was found in the groups of patients with moderate and severe atopic dermatosis (AD) course, respectively: phagocytic activity (PhА) (78,1 ± 1,4) and (72,4 ± 1,4) and (71,7 ± 0,8) %; phagocytic number___ (PhN) (5,3 ± 0,2) and (4,3 ± 0,2) and (3,5 ± 0,1) absolute number (abs. num.); phagocytic index__ (PhI) (6,8 ± 0,2) and (6,2 ± 0,2) and (4,8 ± 0,1) abs. num.; phagocytic capacity (PhC) (30,3 ± 1,0) and (26,5 ± 1,8) and (22,6 ± 0,8) ×103 microbial cell /mm3; spontaneous test of the renovation of nitroblue tetrazolium (sNBT) (42,1 ± 1,3) and (48,1 ± 1,2) and (50,6 ± 0,3) %; induction test of the renovation of nitroblue tetrazolium (іNBT) (63,4 ± 1,6) and (53,4 ± 0,8) and (51,7 ± 0,7) %. In the patients with true eczema (TE), they revealed a similar regularity of phagocytosis inhibition, most pronounced in patients with a severe disease course (p ≤ 0,05), but with a slightly smaller degree of difference between the indicator values of phagocytosis compared with the group of healthy individuals, respectively: PhА (74,8 ± 1,3) and (78,1 ± 1,4) %; PhN (4,5 ± 0,1) and (5,3 ± 0,2) abs. num.; PhI (5,9 ± 0,2) and (6,8 ± 0,9) abs. num.; sНСТ (46,0 ± 0,6) and (42,1 ± 1,3) %; іНСТ (51,8 ± 0,8) and (63,4 ± 1,6) %. Conclusions. The results of identification of phagocytosis in patients with allergodermatosеs using the standard culture of S. aureus ATCC 25923 generally reflect the described regularities of inhibition in patients of the cellular level of nonspecific immunity, but are less presentable for their identification in comparison with the autostrains. Keywords: allergic dermatoses, severity of the course, S aureus autostrains, S. aureus ATCC 25923, antimicrobial resistance.
