Abstract A comparative study of some parameters of nonspecific immunity in the Angelinskii rubella-resistant variant of the scaly and mirror groups of carp in the prespawning and late feeding periods was carried out. The level of the antimicrobial properties of the C-reactive protein, nonspecific immune complexes in the blood serum, and phagocytic activity of neutrophils were studied. The study showed interbreed and inter-seasonal differences in some indicators. It is concluded that the higher level of bacteriostatic activity of blood serum in the rubella-resistant variant, compared with other groups of carp, provides a low percentage of immunodeficient individuals and resistance to pathogens of infectious diseases.

Investigation results are reported on immunobiochemical indices in carassius carassius at a chronic exposure to sub-lethal Zink ions concentrations. In blood serum and liver, the following characteristics were investigated: antimicrobial properties, proportion of immune- deficient animals, content of non specific immune complexes, common lipids level, content of lipids peroxidation products and antioxidant activity. The relation between magnitudes of indices under investigation in fishes and the duration of their presence under experimental conditions is shown.

The aim is to study the conditions of appearance and the features of course of the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients with normal rates of lipid metabolism and to assess the influence of additional risk factors (uinary acid, C-reactive protein, fibrinogen) on the development of atherosclerotic process by assessment of surrogate markers of atherosclerosis the thickness of intima-media complex (TIMC) of carotid arteries (СА), the presence of atherosclerotic plaque (AP) in CA, the value of ankle-brachial index (ABI)) in patients with ACS without dyslipidemia (DLP). Materials and methods. The study included 66 patients without DLP (50 men and 16 women, the mean age - 53,7±10,6 years) with ACS, divided in groups depending on its forms: 1 group – patients with instable angina (IA), 2 group – patients with myocardium infraction (MI) without ST segment elevation and 3 group – patients with MI with ST segment elevation. The level of serum acid, C-reactive protein, fibrinogen in blood serum were detected and ultrasound examination of СА with detection of CA TIMC, presence of atherosclerotic plaque and measuring of arterial pressure on upper and low extremities with ABI calculation was carried out. Results. Among examined patients MI with ST segment elevation was diagnosed in 33 persons (50,0%); MI without ST segment elevation – in 18 (27,3%) and IA – in 15 (22,7%). The complicated ACS was observed in 20 (30,30%) persons. The value of CA TIMC among patients with MI with ST segment elevation was reliably higher than in patients with MI without ST segment elevation (р<0,001), and ABI was reliably lower in persons with MI and ST segment elevation (р<0,05) and IA (р<0,05) than in patients with MI without ST segment elevation. Correlative analysis demonstrated the interconnection between the levels of inflammation indicators (C-reactive protein, fibrinogen) in the blood serum and the value of CA TIMC and ABI. Conclusions. The persons without DLP need additional examination (detection of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen levels in blood serum, ultrasound of CA and detection of ABI) for more precise evaluation of ACS risk.

Aim: To evaluate the effects of orally administered gadolinium orthovanadate GdVO4:Eu3+ nanoparticles (VNPs) on the course of chronic carrageenan-induced intestinal inflammation. Methods: Samples of small intestinal tissue were collected from four groups of rats (intact, after administration of VNPs, with carrageenaninduced intestinal inflammation, with carrageenan-induced intestinal inflammation orally exposed to VNPs) to assess the intestinal morphology and HSP90α expression. Levels of seromucoid, C-reactive protein, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 were determined in blood serum. Results: Oral exposure to VNPs was associated with neither elevation of inflammation markers in blood serum nor HSP90α overexpression in the small intestine, i.e. no toxic effects of VNPs were observed. Carrageenan-induced intestinal inflammation was accompanied by higher levels of TNF-α and IL-1β, as well as HSP90α upregulation in the intestinal mucosa, compared with controls. Administration of VNPs to rats with enteritis did not lead to statistically significant changes in concentrations of circulating pro-inflammatory cytokines with the trend towards their increase. Conclusion: No adverse effects were observed in rats orally exposed to VNPs at a dose of 20 μg/kg during two weeks. Using the experimental model of carrageenan-induced enteritis, it was demonstrated that VNPs at the dose used in our study did not affect the course of intestinal inflammation.

We observed the processes of lipid peroxidation, characterized by increased content of intermediate and its end products (diene conjugates, lipid hydroperoxides, malonic dialdehyde), in the blood of the pregnant mares. The changes of the data of indicators in the organism of the mares at the 9–11 months of pregnancy were established. The level of diene conjugates in the blood of animals was 3.6 ± 0.12 μmol/l, 33.3 and 44.0%, which was higher compared to non-pregnant mares and mares at 4th month of pregnancy. The concentration of lipid hydroperoxides in the blood of mares increased by 100% and by 42.9% in the blood of non-pregnant mares and mares at 4th month of pregnancy. The concentration of malondialdehyde in the blood of mares increased by 75.0%, 51.2% and 25.0% compared to non-pregnant mares and mares at 4th and 7th month of pregnancy, respectively. The results of our research showed that the mineral-vitamin premix Marmix had a positive influence on the state of lipid peroxidation products, contributed to their lowering in the blood of pregnant mares, which demonstrated antioxidant action and stimulated the function of the immune system. It was established that the bactericidal and lysozyme activity of the blood serum and the concentration of circulating immune complexes increases in the mares with lack of trace elements. It was shown that feeding mares during the 9–11 months of pregnancy with the mineral-vitamin premix Marmix had a positive influence on the state of humoral factors of nonspecific resistance. In particular, the concentration of bactericidal activity of serum increased by 31.0%, lysozyme activity of blood serum – 45.4% and contributed to the decrease of the concentration of circulating immune complexes in serum by 3.8 times. The use of mineral-vitamin premix Marmix during 60 days in feeding pregnant mares caused a restoration of the clinical status, a decrease in the content of lipid peroxidation products.

The article contains data, characterizing results variations of specific laboratory HIV-infection diagnostics after ultrasonic exposure directed at biological objects of blood serum. Detailed consideration of biophysical and medical aspects of tissues response on ultrasonic exposure, including immune complexes dissociation, accompanied by antibodies and antigens appearance, previously being in bound state and inaccessible for revealing by laboratory methods was carried out. On the example of HIV-infection good perspectives of ultrasonic application for immune complexes disintegration in laboratory diagnostics is demonstrated.
