The assessment of activity of concentration of radionuclides in soil and food crops from solid mineral mining sites at Ishiagu, in Ivo L.G.A of Ebonyi State was carried out using the necessary measuring instruments. Samples of soil and cassava crop collected from around the mining sites. The samples were analysed using gamma ray spectrometry. The average activity concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in soil samples were 12.37,16.08, and 144.29 Bqkg-1 while those for cassava were 2.81, 16.80, and 205.41 Bqkg-1. The soil/plant radionuclide transfer ratio estimated are 0.62, 2.43 and 2.51 for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K, respectively. All the radiological risk parameters estimated are relatively low. The result of this work showed that the obtained results for all samples were lower than the international accepted limit. Hence, from radiological health standpoint, the obtained values of effective doses may not pose significant threat to both human and the environment.

This study aims to describe and analyze the legal status of mineral mining companies' land in Central Sulawesi, and secondly to explore and/or find alternative concepts in the field of land use adopted by the community in the mining area and its surroundings. To achieve this goal, a sociological/socio legal research method will be used. Document studies are carried out through a search for legal materials; primary, secondary and tertiary to obtain some data, then field data collection was carried out in the form of observations, in-depth interviews and participatory discussions (PRA). The phenomenon of problematic mineral mining occurs in almost every region in Indonesia, including Central Sulawesi. These facts show the importance of this research to be carried out in Central Sulawesi. Mining business is carried out after obtaining a permit from the government, prior to agreement with the party who has land rights, the government has first issued a mining business permit (hereinafter abbreviated as IUP), after the IUP is issued then a settlement with the party who has land rights in order to obtain approval. Land rights are very important in this regard, so the author is of the opinion that in granting mining business permits, comprehensive and effective consultation and deliberation first need to be carried out, involving communities directly affected by mining business activities, so that land rights are guaranteed optimal

Mineral mining and processing Industry of Vietnam is facing a number of huge challenges at present, but there are also great opportunities for its growth in the future. Mineral processing plants need to make breakthrough improvements in the process designing, technology and equipment utilisation in order to meet requirements of the new era. These challenges force our miners and mineral processing operators to constantly make efforts in researches and to bring best solutions to improve plant operations to ensure the requirements of safety, market demands, product quality, sustainable development and environmental friendliness. Specifically, the issues that need to be addressed urgently are capacity and quality of the workforce, tailings treatment, fine particle processing, ores of low washability, recovery rate increase and maximisation of recoverable valuable minerals, environmental issues and workplace safety monitoring and control, maximasation of production efficiency and reduction of operating costs. This report presents the current key challenges of the mining and mineral processing industry in order to help professionals and policy makers in the field of mineral mining and processing to bring rational directions for action initiate appropriate studies and improve management methods; to help mineral processing plants in improving the production efficiency and recovery of valuable minerals; to reduce operating costs and to become environmentally friendly and to develop sustainably.

Background: Various jurisdictions around the world have adopted online mineral staking platforms, designed to create a seamless process for acquiring mineral rights. This article considers how territory is mediated through staking practices and emerging digital prospecting procedures by tracing the implementation of Mineral Titles Online, Canada’s first web-based mineral title interface. Analysis: The article draws on archival materials, explores legal cases, and analyzes the staking application to examine how this practice reconstructs settler colonial logics. Conclusion and implications: The staking application operates as an infrastructure of ongoing colonial extractivism, yet is open to various forms of political intervention—as demonstrated by communities who undermine its intended use.
