The author analyzes the psychological essence and content of the information-psychological confrontation of the actors of the new “Great Game” within the framework of the six-week Artsakh conflict. The analysis of the latest practice of modified strategic and behavioral operations reveals the novelty and actualizes the obtained material. Methodology and methods of the research. The new “Great Game” as a psychoanalytic concept and category reveals the context of technologies of information-psychological confrontation in the Anglo-Saxon discourse. The game as a scientific tool leads the meaning of access to algorithms and technologies for destructive communications of the confrontation system on the “southern front” to hyperbolization. The methodology of system and discourse analysis, revealing fragments of information and psychological confrontation, operations and technologies of a new type, is becoming popular. Results of the research. The conceptualized discourse, which carries the narratives of “loyal” politics with the internal logic of management, sets “the dependent world”, the ways of understanding and representation. The synthesis of fragments of the actors’ confrontation on the basis of psychological research reveals the nature of the struggle for domination. The unification of the process, and then the “enforcement to consent and due order” reveal the mechanism of psychological influence used by them. Based on the results of the work, the author identifies the main forms, schemes, fragments of the British strategic operation as a modification of the operation “Azerbaijan” of the early 20th century, as well as the behaviorist operation as an attempt to resolve the conflict between Baku and Yerevan over Artsakh. The analysis of the views of researchers of the activities of Western intelligence services reveals a two-level model of the struggle of actors, where there are two internally closed and relatively independent control circuits. The author notes the effectiveness of the strategy of Baku with the introduction of new cyber-psychotechnologies, artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), reconnaissance and disinformation mobile groups (RDMG), etc. The lack of a proper strategy, the headquarters of the confrontation and reliance on the potential, the shortage of pre-emptive strikes, their interception, etc. led Yerevan to defeat. Theoretical and practical significance. The research results contribute to the theory and practice of information-psychological confrontation.

Purpose The recent surge in behavioral studies on the coordination mechanisms in supply chains (SCs) and advanced methods highlights the role of SC coordination (SCC) and behavioral issues associated with improving the performance of the operations. This study aims to critically review the behavioral aspect of channel coordination mechanisms. Design/methodology/approach Following a systematic literature review methodology, the authors adopt a combination of bibliometric (to reflect the current state of the field), content (using Leximancer data mining software to develop thematic maps) and theory-oriented qualitative analyzes that provide a holistic conceptual framework to unify the literature’s critical concepts. Findings The analysis confirms the plethora of risk-oriented publications, demonstrating that the second largest category of studies is concerned with social preferences theory. Most studies were based on experiments, followed by analytical modeling, revealing the impact of heuristics and individual preferences in SC decisions and suggesting promising managerial and theoretical avenues for future research. Originality/value The study sheds light on behavioral decision theories applied to SC coordination by categorizing the literature based on the adopted theories. The methodological contributions include using automated content analysis and validating the outcome by interviewing leading scholars conducting active research on “behavioral operations management and SC contracts.” The authors also propose several directions for future research based on the research gaps.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the behavioral operations effect in production inventory decision of supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one buyer, and analyze how the unfairness concerns impact the decision of production inventory in a supply chain system. Design/methodology/approach First, a model without the buyer’s unfairness concern is established; then, advantage unfairness concern and disadvantage unfairness concern behavior of buyer are taken into account in the production inventory system. The authors analyze how advantage unfairness concern and disadvantage unfairness concern impact the optimal decisions and channel coordination. Findings The result shows several important conclusions. First, the buyer’s optimal ordering quantity and expected utility show opposing trend when the buyer has advantage unfairness concern. Second, the stronger bargaining power of the manufacturer results in an increasing buyer’s optimal ordering quantity under the advantage unfairness concern case, but decreasing under the disadvantage unfairness concern case. Third, the supply chain production-inventory can be coordinated under advantage unfairness concern case, but cannot be coordinated under disadvantage unfairness concern. Practical implications The study can provide to practitioners with important implications that when the vendor or the buyer in supply chain wants to make the decision of inventory replenishment, taking unfairness concerns into account will lead to different results. Therefore, to effectively improve the operations performance of supply chain, partners of the supply chain should not only care about their own interest, but also need to consider the fairness concern of the other partner, reflecting the cooperation consciousness of supply chain management. Originality/value This paper contributes to the new field of creative management–behavioral operations, offering managerial implications for the decision and optimization of supply chain production-inventory problem.

AbstractAnimal models are used to study neurobiological mechanisms in mental disorders. Although there has been significant progress in the understanding of neurobiological underpinnings of threat-related behaviors and anxiety, little progress was made with regard to new or improved treatments for mental disorders. A possible reason for this lack of success is the unknown predictive and cross-species translational validity of animal models used in preclinical studies. Re-translational approaches, therefore, seek to establish cross-species translational validity by identifying behavioral operations shared across species. To this end, we implemented a human open field test in virtual reality and measured behavioral indices derived from animal studies in three experiments ($$\textit{N}=31$$ N = 31 , $$\textit{N}=30$$ N = 30 , and $$\textit{N}=80$$ N = 80 ). In addition, we investigated the associations between anxious traits and such behaviors. Results indicated a strong similarity in behavior across species, i.e., participants in our study—like rodents in animal studies—preferred to stay in the outer region of the open field, as indexed by multiple behavioral parameters. However, correlational analyses did not clearly indicate that these behaviors were a function of anxious traits of participants. We conclude that the realized virtual open field test is able to elicit thigmotaxis and thus demonstrates cross-species validity of this aspect of the test. Modulatory effects of anxiety on human open field behavior should be examined further by incorporating possible threats in the virtual scenario and/or by examining participants with higher anxiety levels or anxiety disorder patients.

Studies point out that the utility of the decision maker in the results depends on the profit. However, acting rationally in an auction environment can be difficult, and the reasons may be due to cognitive aspects such as regret. The "Winner's Regret" bias is characterized by the regret that the winner suffers for bidding too high compared to his opponent. The "Loser’s regret" comes from realizing that his very low bid made him lose. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the effect of regret and information on first price auctions in Brazilian individuals and compare with studies conducted abroad, checking if there is a difference in bias amplitude. Initially, a literature review on behavioral operations, auctions and the effect of regret in auctions was performed. Regarding the methodology, the sample applied was non-probabilistic and for convenience. The experiment design had four treatments: Winner's Regret, Loser's Regret, Both and None, manipulated in a 4x1 experiment with college students. Regarding the winner's regret, the results were similar to studies abroad and in the hypothesis of the loser's regret the results were different.
