Currently, the process is underway to bring the entire array of legislative sources defining the judicial system and the status of judges in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation. In the legislative strategy, it seems important to resolve the issue of the higher legal education required for judges. The article substantiates a broad approach to understanding the higher legal education required for a judge, within the framework of which both a higher legal education of a general nature (universal) and a legal education of a special orientation are permissible. This conclusion is based: a) on the basis of the circumstances of the development of the system of higher legal education in Russia, which acts as a social regulator of the formal qualification requirement for the education of a candidate for a judge; b) on the requirements of access to the judicial profession, which imply the possibility of entering the judicial profession for representatives of different professional groups.

Disciplines of a tactical and special orientation are traditionally included in the curricula for various specialties and areas of training implemented in educational organizations of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments, since they have a unique potential to form in future employees of the penal system the competencies necessary to solve specific professional tasks in an emergency. The purpose of the study is to identify the problems the students face in the course of tactical and special training, and to develop recommendations for improving this process. Research methodology: in addition to general scientific methods of theoretical knowledge – analysis, synthesis, comparison, a specific empirical method of questioning was used. The work was carried out on the basis of the Vladimir Law Institute of the FPS of Russia. As a result of the study, the main problems that arise among students in the study of disciplines of tactical and special orientation at the current stage of development of society were identified, recommendations for their solution were developed. The results of the study made it possible to identify the peculiarities of mastering these disciplines by students, with account of the continuously changing conditions of development of the society as a whole. The introduction of the developed recommendations into the educational activities of the departmental university will significantly improve the process of forming the competencies necessary for the implementation of the FPS employee practical activities in emergency situations. Key words: cadet, penal system, tactical and special training, tactical training, emergency, an employee of the penal system.

Crystal orientation mapping experiments typically measure orientations that are similar within grains and misorientations that are similar along grain boundaries. Such (mis)orientation data cluster in (mis)orientation space, and clusters are more pronounced if preferred orientations or special orientation relationships are present. Here, cluster analysis of (mis)orientation data is described and demonstrated using distance metrics incorporating crystal symmetry and the density-based clustering algorithm DBSCAN. Frequently measured (mis)orientations are identified as corresponding to similarly (mis)oriented grains or grain boundaries, which are visualized both spatially and in three-dimensional (mis)orientation spaces. An example is presented identifying deformation twinning modes in titanium, highlighting a key application of the clustering approach in identifying crystallographic orientation relationships and similarly oriented grains resulting from specific transformation pathways. A new open-source Python library, orix, that enabled this work is also reported.

In this paper Winnicott describes a state following the birth of a child for every mother which he terms primary maternal preoccupation. He considers that in this post partum state the mother of an infant becomes biologically and psychologically conditioned for special orientation to the needs of her child. He notes that there are psychological differences between the mother’s identification with the infant, and the infant’s helpless dependence on the mother. Maternal failure can produce an experience of impingement which interrupts the ‘going on being’ of the infant. However if a mother is sensitized she can empathise with and meet the infant’s needs. In this early stage of development for the baby there is an ego-relatedness between both mother and child, from which the mother recovers, and the infant may then build the idea of a person in the mother. The mother’s failure to adapt in the earliest phase can be experienced as an annihilation of the infant’s self. However, what the mother does well is not apprehended by the infant at this stage.

In this paper, a novel face descriptor, the Gabor-scale binary pattern (GSBP), is proposed to explore the neighboring relationship in spatial, frequency and orientation domains for the purpose of face recognition. In order to extract the GSBP feature, the Gabor-scale volume and the Gabor-scale vector are introduced by using a group of Gabor wavelet coefficients with a special orientation. Moreover, the Gabor-scale length pattern and the Gabor-scale ratio pattern are proposed. Compared with the existed methods, GSBP utilizes the deep relations between neighboring Gabor subimages instead of directly combining Gabor wavelet transform and local binary pattern. For estimating the performance of GSBP, we compare the proposed method with the related methods on several popular face databases, including LFW, FERET, AR, Yale and Extended YaleB databases. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms several popular face recognition methods.

The article considers kinematic parameters of the 6R Bricard linkage characteristic point obtained analytically. Computer simulation of this mechanism resulted in diagrams of changes in the special orientation of the coordinate system of the characteristic point and a projection of its velocities to the basic coordinates system. In addition, we developed a prototype model for experimental studies. The difference between data obtained using the experimental model and the data obtained by computer analysis is less than 5%. This article describes the components of the experimental model. Using a stepper motor requires solving additional tasks: resonance, peaks at the first and the last steps, step dividing, ensuring the smooth acceleration of the motor shaft, smooth increasing of the shaft load, etc.
