Objective: Evaluate the effects of saponin-rich extracts from Panax notoginseng roots with steaming - NP (H) and without steaming - NP (O) on some hematological and immunological indices in sarcoma TG180-bearing mice. Methods: The mice were injected with Sarcoma TG180 cells in the thigh to cause tumors, then were oral administrated NP(O), NP(H), Letinan or normal saline from the 6th day to 22nd day since developed tumors. On the 22nd day, blood was taken for IL-2, TNF-α and hematological indicators, revealing and determining the relative weight of spleen and thymus. Results: NP(H) and NP(O) at both level of the doses of 300 mg/kg/day and 900 mg/kg/day increased red blood cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, adjusted white blood cell and platelet counts return to physiological level, increased blood IL-2 and TNF-α, increased relative weight of spleen and thymus. Conclusion: The saponin-rich extracts from Panax notoginseng roots had the effects of improving hematological index and enhancing immunity on sarcoma 180-bearing mice, in which the extract from steaming Panax notoginseng roots has a better effect compared with no-steaming Panax notoginseng roots ones.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a complicated topic.TBI has expensive treatment, sequelae, high mortality and efficient therapeutic strategies for TBI are urgently needed. Patients with severe TBI account for 10% of all traumatic brain injury patients, but more than 80% of patients who die from traumatic brain injury are in this group of patients. That proves the danger of severe TBI. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells with high proliferative and self-renewal capacities, as well as immunomodulatory and neuroregenerative effects. MSCshave been shown to treat TBI and significantly reduce inflammation of injured tissue. In the present study, we evaluated the quality and effectiveness of mesenchymal stem cell transplantation with the graft dose of 9x106cells/kg. Clinical indexes (Pulse, temperature, SBP, HATTr, HATTB, GCS) and subclinical (Hepatic index, kidney, cortisol, lactate, glucose, hematological index, respiratory index) were monitored on 60 patients within 6 months. The results showed that the recovery journey is different for every person with the graft dose of 6-9x106 cells/kg, but there were no adverse complications for the patients, the clinical and paraclinical indicators were stable. No significant side effects were observed during the trial as well as after 6 months of treatment. The MSC transfusions significantly increased the life quality patients; reduced brain damage  and increased HSC counts. Inflammatory cytokines (IL-6) levels decreased and GCS increased in the MSC transfusion group, indicating that the patient's health improved.

The Caspian is a unique drainless water body with no connection to the ocean. This study of the peculiarities of blood cell composition of the Russian sturgeon (Acipenser güldenstädtii) and sevruga (Acipenser stellatus) revealed minor destructive disorders of the blood cells. The number of blood cells also deviated from conditional norms. The study of the leukocyte profile of sturgeons showed the granular forms of leukocytes, band neutrophils and eosinophils, and segmentonuclear neutrophils and eosinophils. The total number of granulocytes in the blood of the Russian sturgeon was increased, which indicated the activation of the body’s protective systems in response to the anthropogenic load. In cytomorphological terms, the destructive disorders were revealed. Such phenomena are associated with the ever-increasing anthropogenic load on the biocenoses of natural reservoirs. Summarizing the results, it can be concluded that the quantitative indicators of red blood in the Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) and sevruga (Acipenser stellatus) caught off of the Dagestan coast of the Caspian Sea were reduced in the spring of 2018 compared to 2016, but were in the normal range given in the literature. The concentration of hemoglobin in the Russian sturgeon and sevruga in 2016 was 13% and 15% higher than in 2014, respectively. This phenomenon could be a measure to compensate for the lack of oxygen in various fish tissues and organs. Keywords: Russian sturgeon, red blood cells, lymphocytes, eosinophils, neutrophils, anisocytosis, cytolysis of red blood cells

Abstract: Pregnancy is a condition of physiological and mechanical changes in the body that can reduce the ability of the immune system. During pregnancy, the normal changes that occur can be observed on the hematological index. There are studies that have found decreased levels of lymphocytes and monocytes, total leukocytes, increased platelet counts, and increased Hb in pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV-2. This study aimed to determine an overview of leucocytes, differential counting and platelets in 3rd trimester pregnant women. This research is a descriptive type of retrospective study, by collecting secondary data from medical record status. There were 26 samples of pregnant women in trimester 3 who were confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2, 17 patients (65%) had an increase in the number of leukocytes. Differential counting was decreased stem neutrophils in 13 patients (50%), normal segment neutrophils in 16 patients (62%), decreased lymphocytes in 13 patients (50%), decreased eosinophils in 14 patients (54%), monocytes increased only in 2 patients (8%) and basophils were normal in all patients. 100% normal platelet count in all samples. In conclusion, the hematological features obtained are leukocytosis, decreased stem neutrophils, 62% normal segment neutrophils, lymphopenia, eosinopenia. normal 92% monocytes are normal, basophils and platelets within normal limits.

Phellinus linteus biomass powder obtained after submerge-fermentation was assested for semi-chronic toxicity in rabbit for evaluation of the safety of using it as functional food. Rabbits were drunk test solution continuously in 28 days with 2 doses: 0.558 g/kg rabbit/ day  and 2.792 g/kg rabbit/day. The result showed that the tested samples did not affect to weight, status, activity of tested  rabbit.  The biochemical index which expressed the liver, kidney functions had no statistical different at before test, after 14 days of test, after 28 days of test, and after 14 days finish of test between tested group and control group (without drink tested sample). The similarity results was obtained with hematological index. There were no abnormal occur in heart, liver, kidney, lung, spleen, and digestive system of tested rabbits in general observation as well as no histopathological lesions of the liver and kidneys in microscopic observation of tested group.
