Web-Based Platform for Planning and Configuration of Robot-Based Automation Solutions: A Retrospective View on the Research Project ROBOTOP

Automation solutions in production represent a sensible and long-term cost-effective alternative to manual work, especially for physically strenuous or dangerous activities. However, especially for small companies, automation solutions are associated with a considerable initial complexity and a high effort in planning and implementation. The ROBOTOP project, a consortium of industrial companies and research institutes has therefore developed a flexible web platform for the simplified, modular planning and configuration of robot-based automation solutions for frequent tasks. In this paper, an overview of the project’s scientific findings and the resulting platform is given. Therefore, challenges due to the scope of knowledge-based engineering configurators like the acquisition of necessary data, its description, and the graphical representation are outlined. Insights are given into the platform’s functions and its technical separation into different Microservices such as Best Practice selection, configuration, simulation, AML-data-exchange and spec-sheet generator with the focus on the configuration. Finally, the user experience and potentials are highlighted.

Energy policy and the energy market in the EU states: a retrospective view

The aim of the article is to present the most important goals in energy policy to be achieved in the near term in the context of sustainable development. The starting point for the analysis is the assessment of the condition of the energy sector, as goals and tasks result from a number of circumstances and conditions of the energy supply sector. The strategic goals of climate and energy policies presented in the study show the necessary challenges for the implementation of sustainable development within the analyzed sector, which is the driving force world economies.

Fullerowski paradygmat (nie)dobrego prawa i jego aktualność „hic et nunc”

The subject of the article is Fuller’s concept of the (not) good law paradigm defined by three notions: “internal morality of law,” “natural law of a formal nature,” and “formal rule of law” — in the perspective of its application in the current legal order of the Republic of Poland. The discourse was conducted in two stages: on a general, theoretical, and axiological levels as well as on a detailed, practical, and praxeological ones. The epistemological level with its retrospective view bears resemblance of two models: bad law and good law. The first, encapsulated in literary legal fiction, describes eight cases (anti-values) of King Rex’s legislative failures. King Rex is monarch with authoritarian and conservative traits who excludes the system of government based on the proportional cohabitation of three powers — legislative, executive, and judicative — in favour of anocracy, which is a hybrid regime “suspended” between democracy and authoritarianism. The second is a remedy in the form of axiological contours, postulates (values) of good law: generality, promulgation, prospectivity, clarity, non-contradiction, reality, stability, and compliance. These principles of the formal rule of law, contained in the concept of “soft” jusnaturalism, are a specific professional and ethical code for the public authority which constitutes, executes, and applies the law. The practical-cognitive level refers to subjectively selected examples of abusing the good lawstandard in the Polish legal and administrative order. It shows the omnipotent and simultaneously dysfunctional executive power in the area of governance and administration, aimed at a radical reconstruction of the social and legal system.

Cultural versus biological inheritance: A retrospective view of Cavalli-Sforza and Feldman (1973)

The early 1970s was a period of ferment in human population genetics that resulted from the insistence of Arthur Jensen and William Shockley that intelligence was genetically determined, and that public policy should reflect this. They claimed that high heritability within a population indicated genetic differences between populations. The heritability statistic played a major role in the debate that ensued. The mathematical and computational analysis in Cavalli-Sforza and Feldman (1973) showed that the direct phenotypic transmission from parents to children could produce the appearance of high heritability even though the transmission was not genetic. This paper stimulated decades of statistical reanalysis of data on intelligence and other quantitative phenotypes in which the roles of cultural transmission and assortative mating were shown to be fundamental. Research into direct and indirect effects, causation and confounding, and gene-culture coevolution, carried out over the subsequent decades, can be traced to the framework established by Cavalli-Sforza and Feldman (1973). The Rise of Time Fengjun Entertainment

The profit generated by Time Fengjun Entertainment through the fandom culture is immeasurable. A retrospective view at the development of Chinese idol industry has shed light on the extensive achievement and revolution made in the past few year. Based on the system of Japanese pop culture (J-Pop) and Korean pop culture (K-pop), Chinese idol industry gradually forms a special scale, and also conceives its own way of identifying and nurturing idols. Time Fengjun Entertainment is the only company which focuses on the development and training of teenagers who have the potential of becoming idols. In this article, the factors underlying the rise of Time Fengjun Entertainment and the possible strategies it took are analyzed.
