Every individual must have experienced anxiety, both originating from within the individual and from outside the individual self. If anxiety is excessive, it is very bad for an individual's body, especially after an accident. Nowadays there are phenomena that occur in him that cause anxiety. Anxiety is a condition where a person experiences feelings of anxiety or anxiety and the activity of the autonomic nervous system in responding to an unclear and unspecified threat, and also indicates a state of apprehension or state of worry that complains that something bad is imminent. This can be fatal because the anxious feelings suffered by the individual stem from the loss of meaning in life. So, to overcome the anxiety of death experienced by these individuals, religious counseling is carried out using remembrance. Religious counseling is a help given to a person or a client who has a religious nuance, in order to understand oneself, namely to know oneself, to implement the goals and meaning of life, to form values that hold onto life and to develop as optimal potential as possible. Remembrance is a heart and verbal worship that knows no time limit. Therefore, it needs to be instilled in him to be patient in dealing with it, try to be sincere, carry out worship to the Almighty God so that the anxiety of death will recover. The problem with this research is how to overcome anxiety about death after an accident. The purpose of this study was to determine the anxiety of death after an accident with religious counseling using remembrance. This study uses a qualitative research method that uses a case study approach with the subject of one accident victim aged 21 years. The instrument in this study was observation, interviews and client related data. The results of this mini research study state that religious counseling using remembrance can change anxiety about death after an accident.

Accidents due to falls from height are one of the main causes of death in workplaces. Fall arrest systems (FAS) are designed to arrest the fall safely without injuring the accident victim. Their main mission is to restrain the body so as to prevent it from hitting the ground, generating forces and accelerations in the arrest process that are not harmful. A lack of empirical evidence and scant technical information provided by manufacturers regarding minimum clearance distance (MCD) below anchorage makes it necessary to study the safety distances required in the use of Energy Absorber Lanyards (EAL). This paper aims to determine the MCD below anchorage to arrest a fall using an EAL without hitting the ground. The real deformation of EAL when stopping a fall is studied. Ten EAL models distributed internationally by six manufacturers were chosen. Dynamic behavior tests were performed on the samples. Using image processing the total elongation of the equipment (elastic plus plastic) is obtained. The main conclusions are that maximum plastic elongation could be reduced by 29%. The method described in EN 355: 2002 underestimates elongation by up to 70% for some equipment 20% of EAL’s exceed the maximum arrest force (Fm) allowed in EN 355. The MCD data provided by manufacturers is not reliable. The data provided by manufacturers are incomplete. It is recommended that quality control for EAL’s be strengthened to ensure that products launched onto the market meet the requirement of EN355. The findings of this study recommended increasing MCD distance longer than that calculated according to EN355, at less than 1 m.

Abstract BackgroundDelay in receiving timely care after road traffic accidents (RTAs) result in higher morbidity and mortality, suggesting need of educational interventions for improving provision of first aid. Based on the theory of planned behaviour (TBP), the present study aims to develop and validate the scale to Measure of Intention to Help Road Accident Victim (MIHRAV) of young adults in a fast urbanizing Indian city.MethodsA cross sectional survey was conducted among the college students of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The initial MIHRAV questionnaire developed for study comprised of 26 self-reported items encompassing four main constructs: intention to help; social norms; attitude and self-efficacy. The validation process included face validity, content validity, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and reliability analysis. ResultsSix hundred ninety-five college students participated in this study. EFA extracted four factor structure containing 20 items. The CFA yielded good model fit with 19 items, and explained 79% of variance (chi square = 413.359, df = 140, χ2/df = 2.95, CFI = 0.93 and TLI = 0.92 and RMSEA = 0.05). The Cronbach’s alpha indicated satisfactory internal consistency for questionnaire (α = .88), and for subscales (social norms - α = .62, attitude - α = .65, perceived confidence- α = .74, and intention α = .86).Conclusions The final MIHRAV instrument is aligned with constructs of TPB. It included 19 items measuring intention to help (9 items); perceived confidence (4 items); attitude (3 items) and social norm (3 items). MIHRAV was found to be reliable and valid tool to assess young adult’s intention to help road accident victims. Assessing and building this aspect has the potential to positively impact young adult’s likelihood to intervene as first responders at RTAs.

In this paper, an offline drone instrumentalized ambulance (ODIA) mechanism has been discussed. The rapid increase in the urban population directly influences every sector of society. The sectors are maybe food, health care, education, transportation, etc. Normally, it has been observed that when any accidents happen on the urban road or any remote places then, the availability of immediate medical help is very rare. It is not because of the unaware or unavailability of medical facilities rather it happens because of overcrowding on the urban road and geographical odd-isolation of places. Hence, here an ODIA concept has been discussed which uses offline maps and offline first-aid medical videos through which immediate medical help can be made available at the patient end. This model helps to save the life of an accident victim by providing immediate medical attention. The key strength of ODIA is, it is independent of internet service that is why it is more suitable for harsh and hostile environments.

Worldwide, one of the leading causes of death and injuries are motor vehicle accidents. This study was conducted to explore motor vehicle accident victims’ experiences after vehicular accident in an attempt to further understand the phenomenon. It is important to know the effects of the accident to the life of survivors in order to make a specific intervention to their specific needs. A qualitative phenomenological design is used, using semi-structured, in depth face to face interviews to elicit accounts of vehicular accident survivors. Findings revealed that driving under influence of alcohol, over speeding, slippery road, and first time driving are some of the causes of accident. Five of the respondents had experienced disturbing thoughts, and some of them had dreams of the accident were happening again. Six of the respondents were afraid that it will happen again when something or someone reminded them of the accident or when seeing the place where they experienced the accident. The result of this study will help and assist health professionals in developing a plan of care to victims of vehicular accidents regardless of severity to have psychological assistance to avoid future problems such as recurrent thoughts, sleep disturbances and others. Keyword: vehicular accident; victim

Bilateral mandibular parasymphyseal fractures may compromise airway maintenance. The aim of the present study is to report the case of a patient with bilateral parasymphyseal fracture who developed some degree of airway obstruction and required urgent surgical treatment. A 19-year-old female motorcycle accident victim presenting bilateral mandibular parasymphyseal fractures evolved with difficulty breathing, 5 hours after trauma. To improve the patient’s clinical condition, urgent surgical treatment 12 hours after the trauma was opted. The fractures were fixed with two 2.0-mm plate and screw systems at each fractured site. After surgery, the patient evolved with good oxygen saturation and no difficulty in breathing. Occlusion obtained during surgery remained satisfactory and stable over the 2-year postoperative follow-up. Emergency surgical treatment of the bilateral mandibular parasymphyseal fracture was imperative in the present case since the patient developed respiratory distress after the trauma.
