CDC Hickie, a yellow cotyledon field pea (Pisum sativum L.) cultivar, was released in 2021 by the Crop Development Centre, University of Saskatchewan for distribution to Select seed growers through the Variety Release Committee of the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers. CDC Hickie has good lodging resistance, medium time to maturity, medium-sized, round seeds, mean seed protein concentration of 24.4%, and good yielding ability. It is resistant to powdery mildew and moderately susceptible to mycosphaerella blight and Fusarium root rot. CDC Hickie is adapted to the field pea growing regions of western Canada.

CDC Lewochko, a yellow cotyledon field pea (Pisum sativum L.) cultivar, was released in 2018 by the Crop Development Centre, University of Saskatchewan for distribution to Select seed growers through the Variety Release Committee of the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers. CDC Lewochko has good lodging resistance, medium time to maturity, medium-sized, round seeds, mean seed protein concentration of 21.0%, and good yielding ability. It is resistant to powdery mildew and moderately susceptible to mycosphaerella blight and Fusarium root rot. CDC Lewochko is adapted to the field pea growing regions of western Canada.

In neurotypical individuals, arm choice in reaching movements depends on expected biomechanical effort, expected success, and a handedness bias. Following a stroke, does arm choice change to account for the decreased motor performance, or does it follow a pre-injury habitual preference pattern? Participants with mild to moderate chronic stroke who were right-handed before stroke performed reaching movements in both spontaneous and forced-choice blocks, under no-time, medium-time, and fast-time constraint conditions designed to modulate reaching success. Mixed-effects logistic regression models of arm choice revealed that expected effort predicted choices. However, expected success only strongly predicted choice in left-hemiparetic individuals. In addition, reaction times decreased in left-hemiparetic individuals between the no-time and the fast-time constraint conditions but showed no changes in right-hemiparetic individuals. Finally, arm choice in the no-time constraint condition correlated with a clinical measure of spontaneous arm use for right-, but not for left-hemiparetic individuals. Our results are consistent with the view that right hemiparetic individuals show a habitual pattern of arm choice for reaching movements relatively independent of failures. In contrast, left hemiparetic individuals appear to choose their paretic left arm more optimally: that is, if a movement with the paretic arm is predicted to be not successful in the upcoming movement, the non-paretic right arm is chosen instead.

Ternary quantum dots (QDs) are novel nanomaterials that can be used in chemical analysis due their unique physicochemical and spectroscopic properties. These properties are size-dependent and can be adjusted in the synthetic protocol modifying the reaction medium, time, source of heat, and the ligand used for stabilization. In the last decade, several spectroscopic methods have been developed for the analysis of organic and inorganic analytes in biological, drug, environmental, and food samples, in which different sensing schemes have been applied using ternary quantum dots. This review addresses the different synthetic approaches of ternary quantum dots, the sensing mechanisms involved in the analyte detection, and the predominant areas in which these nanomaterials are used.

This research aims to find out the dance work of Sarai Sarumpun Art workshops in Padang City. This type of research is qualitative research, and the method used is a description of the analysis. The instruments in this study are the researchers themselves and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and mobile phones. The data type uses primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by library studies, observations, interviews, recording and shooting. The steps for analyzing the data are data reduction, data presentation and withdrawal of conclusions. The results showed that the dance work of Sarai Sarumpun Art workshops seen in his three dances is Hoyak Badarai Plate dance, Indang Sarumpun dance, Rampak Nuri Shawl dance. Of these three dances found the wiggle room is dominated by large wiggle room, and the time of movement implementation is dominated by medium time, as well as the use of energy in motion dominated by medium-sized energy. More dance moves are used in curved zig-zag line patterns that produce emotional touches full of feeling (joy). Thus the supporting elements such as the joyous sense of music presented by the variety of sounds and costumes with colorful and varied floor patterns that all reinforce the joyous atmosphere that is presented in the dance of entertainment.Keywords: Analysis, Dance Work, Sarai Sarumpun Art Workshops

In this paper we investigate the variation of the tidal triggering effect efficiency, by means of the tidal seismicity compliance parameter p, and the lower Ionosphere variations, by means of the variation of the High-Frequency limit, fo, of the ionospheric turbulence content with the time and space proximity to the site of the earthquake occurrence as well as by the intensity variations of VLF signals transmitted over the seismic area. It is shown that the “Earth tides-seismicity compliance parameter” p may be used as a medium time earthquake warning while the frequency content of the ionospheric turbulence over the earthquake epicenter, deduced directly from GPS network TEC observations or indirectly through the VLF transmission network, may be used for the short time earthquake forecasting, deserving the special attention of the authorities, the scientists and the society.

Plasma membrane integrity is a key to cell viability. Currently, the main approach to assessing plasma membrane integrity is the detection of penetration of special dyes, such as trypan blue and propidium iodide, into the cells. However, this method needs expensive equipment: a fluorescent microscope or a flow cytometer. Besides, staining with propidium iodide occasionally gives false-positive results. Here, we suggest the phosphate (Pi) leakage assay as an approach to assess the increase in permeability of the plasma membrane of yeast cells. We studied the dependence of phosphate efflux and uptake into Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells on the composition of the incubation medium, time, and ambient pH. The difference in optimal conditions for these processes suggests that Pi efflux is not conducted by the Pi uptake system. The Pi efflux in water correlated with the proportion of cells stained with propidium iodide. This indicated that Pi efflux is associated with cytoplasmic membrane disruption in a portion of the yeast cell population. The assay of Pi efflux was used to evaluate membrane disruption in S. cerevisiae cells treated with some heavy metal ions and detergents.
