ABSTRACTThe objective of the research is to present a Methodological Trail for the implementation of Social Technology Projects. To this end, a literature review on Social Technologies was promoted, followed by participant observation in extension projects at the Federal University of Sergipe for a better empirical understanding of the phenomenon. An analysis of the TS Projects of the Banco do Brasil Foundation was also outlined, through interviews and documents, with the purpose of verifying how the implementation of these TS occurred. As a result, it is inferred that the proposed Methodological Trail is an important strategy for the definition of an operational path for the implantation of ST, through steps, actions, and tools. For this research the steps were called Stations, which are: Diagnosis, Construction, Experimentation and Expansion

Along the Brazilian history, the federal government has invested in the construction of large-scale water works in the Northeastern region, aiming to fight drought in the Semiárido and to finish with the scarcity of water by means of public policies. However, the climatic context makes drought a natural characteristic of the Northeastern region and cannot be fought against, as it is a natural phenomenon in the area. The objective of the present paper is to investigate how social technologies implemented in the Semiárido have contributed to the strengthening of women’s production capacity in the Hipólito community located in the Mossoró municipality, (State of Rio Grande do Norte, Northeastern Brazil), with the implementation of fertilized cisterns, aiming at gender equality and sustainable agriculture as preconized by Agenda 2030. As a methodological procedure, a qualitative research was carried out, adopting the participatory observation and the focal group techniques. Twelve women who integrate the Mulheres em Ação group participated in the study. It was observed that women positively perceive the impacts of the social technologies of the Um Milhão de Cisternas (P1MC) and Uma Terra e Duas Águas (P1+2) programs in the Hipólito community. Moreover, agriculture practices involved in the construction of the water reuse technology in their yards yielded positive expectations regarding production by the addition of another social technology that will make a larger volume of water available to the community. It is concluded that social technologies coexisting with the Semiárido have contributed to a new territorial development model, consonant with the Semiárido characteristics.

The article disclosed the content of the concepts «innovation», «social innovation», «social technology», «innovative social technology». It is indicated that one of the features of modern social technology is its innovative nature. The purpose of the article is to define the essence of the concept of «innovative social technologies», substantiate and analyze the possibilities of their application in work with children and youth. For social work, social pedagogy, an essential characteristic of innovation is its social consequences. Socio-philosophical content of the term “social policy”, its difference from the definition of “political economics” and also some features of technologies in a social area are described and analyzed in the article. The author distinguishes between the concepts of “labor” and “social labor activity” (deiatel’nost’). Using the concept of philosophy of a name developed by A. F. Losev, the definition of the "ideal" (“ideal’noe”) considered by E. V. Il’enkov, and A. V. Dakhin’s definition of “socio-historical memory” the author gives the definition of social policy that is understood as social labor activity (deiatel’nost’) of a man. This definition is focused on the ideas of safety and the development of essential forces of a personality-and-society, which relates to a name of a personality, to a name of a social community, to a name of a man as the complete form of social being, that contains concrete knowledge, experience, attitudes etc. as forms of social existence. The author shows that some aspects of technologies analysis in the social area give reasons to conclude: as distinct from more popular deserted technologies of commodity industry, the social policy area is in need to use another type of algorithms of social labor activity, – these are people intensive (chelovekoеmkie) technologies, the main peculiarities of which are described in the article. Main fields of social labor activity (deiatel’nost’) where people intensive technologies are reasonable to be used include pedagogical, medical, organizational ones etc.

The expansion and deepening of human-computer interaction in modern conditions have attracted attention to human activity and required its study at a new level. The article is devoted to the examination of the problems of organising human activity based on the knowledge of its key components. Epistemological approaches to thinking and knowing as directions of the development of human activity make it possible to increase the efficiency of the organisation of human activity as a whole and raise questions that can be resolved on the way of further methodology evolution. The further transition from the methodology of research and practices to social technologies that would allow purposefully producing new knowledge, on the basis of which, in turn, it would be possible to improve the quality of the organisation of human activity, seems appropriate and natural. The authors argue that the technological approach to problem resolution is useful and fruitful not only in the sphere of engineering and technical devices but also in the field of social relations.

With the increasing popularity of social technologies, many Chinese students use WeChat for their studies in Australia. However, there have been limited studies about how students effectively use WeChat for their academic activities and the impacts on students' academic achievements. Therefore, this study focuses on the relationship between WeChat usage and academic activities of university students in Australia. Using a modified Delphi technique, we conducted three online focus groups of 16 university students who had an experience of WeChat. A thematic analysis revealed that the usage of WeChat could impact their academic performance, and many international students had challenges to be familiarised with a new digital environment in Australia. The findings contribute to much clear understanding of how students utilise WeChat for academic activities to provide a better usage of social media for university students.

In this article, we discuss the way offshore financial centres are used by the multi-subsidiary, multi-jurisdictional group structure known as the ‘multinational enterprise’ to arbitrage between social geographies of political jurisdictions. We define arbitrage as the use of corporate legal entities located in diverse jurisdictions to arbitrate a third country's rules and regulations. Using a new method to categorize firm-level data from Van Dijk’s Orbis, we operationalize the notion of arbitrage to systematically detail and compare the structural sequencing choices firms are making, likely in part for reasons of arbitrage. We base our techniques on legal theory of the firm, acknowledging the underpinning of social technologies of law and accounting by which business enterprises are constructed and maintained. We conclude that two specific types of entities, ‘standalones’ versus ‘in-betweeners’, are qualitatively different from others in the activities they perform. We also highlight the existence of liability structures, or ‘fuses’, which typically take the form of a split ownership arrangement. Ultimately, we demonstrate that the position of a firm’s subsidiary within the overall network ecology of that firm is as important as its jurisdictional registration location.
